When the Man originally saw Andrew on the silver screen, he thought maybe the boy would have a happy ending. Get the guy, become popular, ditch his cousin, save his mother, kill his father. It seems this was not the case this time around. When he saw the ending, screamed at the ending, he realized he needed to find this boy, give him everything he deserved. So he went to the Void, that's where Andrew would be. The Void of all Death, a never ending place made of pure black sky and stars. He found the boy lying on the same black slab they all did when they died. The Man knew one day he too would be here, alone in his mind, for some could still think after death. Andrew woke up and immediately started to use his powers. Trying to defend himself, but failing and falling onto the floor sobbing. The Man picked him up, took him to his home, and made sure his wounds were healed properly. It had been a surprise to Andrew that it was now 2020 and eight years had passed since his death. Andrew was hesitant to accept anything the Man gave him, but couldn't resist the large helpings of food that were given out at dinner. 

As the year went by, the two men learned to see one another, break through the barriers of life, and become stronger through one another. Andrew knew that if the Man ever was to die, he would never be whole again, never find someone quite like him. 

The same could go for the Man, however there were hundreds of versions of Andrew if anything ever happened to this one. The Man didn't want another version of him, he wanted the Andrew he loved so much, the Andrew who he brought back to life and strengthened. 

Andrew had made a new friend, and he had made the gutsy decision to try to prove his existence and jump through a portal to meet them. It was shot down immediately by the Man, for one reason only. He couldn't risk Andrew dying. Not after last time, not after the dust, the flames....

Andrew was met with a hug, someone flying into his shoulder and begging him not to leave. He looked down and saw he was in his old hospital gown. There was no explanation for it, but the Man took it as a sign. "Like a wise woman once said.... Andrew, you came to me like this. And I want you to come back the exact same way. You need to be safe, I don't want my best friend getting hurt, and I CERTAINLY don't want him to.... not come back. You are stronger than this... and I love you." Andrew smiled, hugging the man tighter and promising to return home. 

For he would be a guardian angel to his friend, just as he had a guardian angel when he awoke from the world beyond the grave.
