How Atlas met Brunhilde
A warm sunny day, the breeze was softly blowing his fur, a perfect start to a day in Atlas eyes. He always enjoyed like these, it reminded him how he found his lady knight,Brunhilde. The lady so to speak was currently training their son,Akemi to truly wield a spear with skill as great as hers. As for their little Aura, she was reading one of the books that Atlas cherished as a child. This atmosphere remind him how he broke the walls to Brunhilde heart at the cost of his eye. All this was seventeen years ago, all from the battlefield.
Brunhilde couldn't stand her new partner,Atlas. He was a flirty type, and his hair was a disaster. He may be the best shield in all the Knight Corp, though he needed to be more serious out on the battlefield. She sighed as she waited for him at the meet up point. This was going to be a long day, especially with their new assignment. After about fifteen minutes of waiting, Atlas show up with a smile on his face. Why he smiled only around her would be the greatest mystery.
"You were a minute from making us late. May I remind you that this mission is a serious one. A blood hydra is a serious threat that has cause many heroes to fall in battle. We were especially chosen for our abilities in combat. My spear that can pierce through anything, your shield which can protect from any attack. So I except you to help complete our mission with a more mature attitude" She glared at him before preparing to go.
Atlas heard every single word full of fierce expectation from Brunhilde, though he couldn't help but smile when she was around. Ever since they were partnered up, he wanted to learn more about her. Brunhilde always kept to herself and trained to the point where she was just about to pass out. Atlas admired her determination, he could see why she was a legendary hero but she needed to relax. Atlas tried to get her to lighten up, though all of seemed to do was annoy her. Atlas thought if he could show that he could help her out in battle, then maybe she ease up on herself.
The battle was fierce, the hydra has cornered them and the cave they were in could collapse at at any moment. Even as weaken as it was the beast was fighting with all it had. Brunhilde just needed to strike it once more with her spear and then the beast will fall. As much as she hated to admit it, Atlas was a great help because he protect the both of them from the beast venomous acid. He may be a flirty goofball and seriously need to mature outside of battles, but perhaps she could give him more of a chance.
She was so caught up in her thoughts that she forgot of the danger in front of her. Before she could react the hydra was just inches from striking her, she wouldn't be able to defend herself in time. Was this how she would fall?
"Look out!" Atlas through himself in front of Brunhilde as the his sharp venom filled fangs destroyed his left eye
Brunhilde was shocked, as it time had stopped she saw this all happen in slow motion. She had gotten her partner hurt because of her carelessness. How could she do this in the middle of a battle such as this? She then came to her senses and pierced the hydra through the chest, ending it once and for all. The beast was no more, their mission was over.
"Atlas!" She remembered her partner and quickly ran to his side.
Atlas was passed out, what was left of his eye was a bleeding mess. He needed medical assistance as quickly as possible. She scooped him up in one hand, then carried his shield and her spear in the other. She ran back to headquarters as fast as she could, praying he would make it.
Atlas was recovering in the hospital room as Brunhilde was by his bedside holding his paw. His eye was scarred to the point that it had to be removed, all because he saved her. Perhaps he was her knight like she was his weapon. They were know as the "Spear and Shield" after all. The whole experience made her realize that he was more than a partner to her. Atlas was always there for her and because of her stubbornness she had almost lost him. Never again will she forget and ignore this feeling. She truly cared about this goofball, in fact she loved him. After he awoke up, she would show him how much she adored him.
That is how Atlas and Brunhilde love story began
