His Words
Each of the Mao kids were lost in their own little worlds, for a few words from their grandfather Shin Mao causes them to feel something that mad them go into the abyss known as self doubt. A few shed tears as his laughter echoed in their heads, taunting them. Others isolated themselves in their rooms, to try to clear their minds of Shin Mao words. His exceptions of each of them were really putting pressure on the kittens, like they were suppose to be what he wanted. The question was in this matter, is what do the kittens want.
"A hero is always alert, being relax is a sign of weakness. You need to stop being so relax Akemi. Otherwise it will cost you later on" Shin Mao words played in Akemi head, as he laid on his bed trying to drown it out with some music from his headphones.
Akemi thought about those words, he didn't want to believe them but he couldn't help but give in. Relaxing his guard was the reason his father got his second scar, if he had been more alert than maybe he could of stop the things that day.
"I need to train more" Akemi thought as he got up and took his wooden spear to the training room
"A hero proves their point to others with actions. Words could never measure up to what can be show on the battlefield,Aura. Fighting is what inspired young heroes, not words" Aura tried to keep her mind off her grandfather words, but not even her favorite book could stray her mind from his voice.
Aura didn't like to fight, she preferred to solve problems with peace and her words. Sadly that couldn't prevent her father from receiving that scar that day. Shin Mao was right, she need to learn how to fight so she may defend herself. That way no one has to get hurt because she couldn't protect herself.
Aura closes the book and goes to her mother to learn how to defend herself. She had to fight for the goals she wishes to achieve. Words can't solve problems.
"Buster, your father was a great warrior, as his only son you are to carry on his legacy. To be the warrior he was so well known as. You have to be as great as he was! For both the Mao and Scales clans!" Buster was starting at the sky, wondering if his father was looking down at him. Shin Mao words were his only companions.
Buster missed his father greatly and knew that he was to live in as a great hero that he would be proud of. He had to be just like him, a strong warrior who protects his family even if he is killed while doing so.
"I must keep them all safe" Buster vowed, he was going to be a warrior of both clans though a mirror image of his father.
"Bakula, you can't always joke your way out of situations! Be more serious, otherwise no one will ever believe in you as a hero!" Bakula teared up,under her blanket shivering. Her grandfather words taunt her from the shadows
"Jokes...are not what makes a good hero" Bakula whimper, as more tears fall from her turquoise eyes.
She needed to be more serious. Serious heroes are better than heroes who joke and goofs off anyways.
"Heroes have no fears,Chiyo! A hero must be fearless otherwise they are a disgrace to themselves and their clans!" Chiyo was sobbing, remembering his words
" I don't want to be a disgrace...but the darkness is so scary... " The small bunny kitten hiccup as she sobbed into her small carrot pillow
"Darkness is evil. Though you may be half demon, you must never use that power to hurt others. Carmine, don't allow your powers to make you into a villian" Carmine smashed a mirror A the words Shin Mao spoke continued to play in his mind.
"I am not evil! I just have dark powers!!" The kitten growled, as his aura overwhelmed the room and shattered the windows. Leaving the kitten alone to suffer these thoughts
" Your father is a con man. So you must work twice as hard to prove you are nothing like him. Understand Euno? " Euno looked at a photo of his father,Rufus and sighs. Shin Mao words were stabbing his heart like daggers
"I am not like him....I am not like him!" Euno threw the photo to the ground, it laid as two torn pieces on the wooden floor. He wasn't going to be like his father. Never will be be like him!
"Emotions blind a hero from their objectives. When in battle you must only focus on the missions. No distractions matter" Fabron looked down at his paws, thinking about his grandpa words.
"No feelings while fight...ok...grandpa right" The kitten sighed, going to sleep. Believing everything his grandfather told him. He always followed whatever Shin Mao said
"Young Lynelle, as a young hero you will face many challenges. You prepare to face them alone" Lynelle could hear her grandpa words, even though she couldn't fully understand them.
The word "Alone" scared Lynelle very much, causing her to cry half the day away. She hates being alone, she would hate to be alone to in the future. Why did her grandfather what her to face challenges alone? She couldn't understand.
Be careful of what you say to a child, for you it may not be as serious. To them it could shape the person they become, or worse hurt their confident in themselves. Be more open to the person they are, never change them. For the image you want them to be is just a mask covering their true selves. Don't break their spirits otherwise they may not be who they were supposed to be in life.
