Meanwhile, in the Shadow Realm, all the souls of the alter egos of the Casperan family were roaming and they were not happy with what they were feeling. Especially, Master Despair.

"No, no, no! What's happening?!" Master Despair shouted in anger. "My power, my influence. . .I feel it draining!"

"Stop being such a baby, little brother." A female voice said from a distance. This is The Shadow Of Despair, or Shadow for short. She's Hope Lily's dark side. "Hisirdoux is just finally accepting you as a part of him. You'll get use to it in no time."

"Oh, f*ck off, Shadow." Master Despair scoffed in annoyance. "We all know that Hopelily was, no, is stronger than Douxie. There's no way he accepted me already!"

"You know your not completely powerless once he does, though." Shadow explained. "Sure, it's hard to get use to. But we can still torment them in their nightmares."

"Try telling that to Kurayami." Master Despair said as he pointed to another figure. "Nora accepted her so quickly that she even changed her name to Hevanora! She's not even scared of her anymore!"

"Hey, I came back to torment her once and it was a blast!" Kurayami said. "But yeah, it has been boring lately. It's been years and I can't even give her nightmares anymore!"

"See?!" Master Despair complained.

"Will you guys shut up?!" Another voice asked in anger. "You're all so pathetic, really."

"Oh I'm sorry, did we wake the poor fire baby?" Shadow asked mockingly. "Go to Hell, Mara."

"Been there, but I must have gone to the wrong Hell, because I couldn't find the hotel anywhere." Mara said as a matter of factly. "Which sucks, 'cause I was looking forward to hanging with Angel."

"All you guys are crying over nothing." Another figure said as he rolled his eyes. "At least your other halves didn't fuse with you to become someone else."

"If that's the case, why are you still here?" Kurayami asked in confusion.

"Jake still doesn't like to use my help." The figure, known as Night Shade, said in annoyance. "It like he forgot about me."

"You know what we need?" Master Despair said with an evil smirk on his face. "Revenge!"

"Ugh, Master Despair, always with the revenge." Mara sighed dramaticly. "How'd that work out for you last time?"

"No, I mean we all need to-" Master Despair started to say before being caught off guard by the other statement his cousin made. "Wait, how did you know about that?"

"YouTube, duh." Mara said, pulling out her phone to show them. "See, you have an almost completed 'series' about how you came to be and then defeated soon after."

"Whatever, that doesn't matter. I already gave Douxie all the nightmares I possibly could." Master Despair said seriously. "But now, I'm going to take control of him again. And this time I won't stop till Revenge is mine!"

At that cue music started to play and Master Despair started to sing.

Master Despair: "Does no one know who they're dealing with?
Think I'll let it go "Forget" and "forgive."
The rage in me Is terminal.
There's no remedy.
But to burn them all
I still got a job to do,
my mission's incomplete.
Only a weakling could

When he finished singing, the dark ones just started a little terrified about how serious Master Despair was about his revenge. Only now, it seemed that he wanted revenge on his better half as well.

"Uh, brother are you okay?" Shadow asked with genuine concern in her eyes.

"I will be, once I take control of Hisirdoux again that is." The red and black haired boy said through gritted teeth. "I'll make him destroy everyone we love and lose all hope that's left."

"As much as I admire this plan, it's never going to work." Shadow explained. "Douxie would never hurt his loved ones."

"On purpose, no, but remember what happened nine hundred and eleven years ago?" Master Despair asked with an evil smirk on his face as he used a memory projection spell to show what he was talking about. "When we struck Nora with our magic by accident, that caused us to fear our power."

"Oh, I remember that like it was yesterday." Kurayami said rolling her eyes. "I may not have been awakened yet, but I still remember trust me."

"Oh, so you remember about three years later when we struck her again, out of fear, and cursed her heart." Master Despair asked as he showed the memory. "If I can stage another accident like that, Douxie will be more vulnerable!"

"Which will lead you to be able to take control of him again!" Night Shade exclaimed as he put the pieces together.

"Exactly!"

"Please, this'll never work." Mara scoffed. "I'm willing to bet I can gain control of Mars again faster than you can say abracadabra."

"That's not a real spell, you know." Master Despair said rolling his eyes. "And what makes you think that anyway?"

"I just know I'm better than y'all." Mara smirked tauntingly.

"No way, I can take control of Lily faster than Sonic can run." Shadow said as a matter of factly.

"Cannot!" Master Despair and Mara said in unison.

"Can too!" Shadow shouted back which erupted into a long argument between the family of dark ones as Kurayami and Night Shade just watched in confusion.

However before anyone could do anything else Shadow, Mara, and Master Despair all disappeared. Of course, the others were confused as they had no idea what happened.

What they didn't know was that this was going to be the beginning of the revenge that Master Despair had always wanted.
