Snippets from BOOK I.

Scene I:

"I asked because I wanted to clear my conscience before making my next move. You wreaked havoc here." He placed my hand over his chest, just a few inches below his heart, and moved a bit closer. "I obsessed over you, spent countless nights thinking about you, and counted the days until you were mine so I could finally hold you." With my hand pressed against his chest, he closed the distance between us and pulled me closer, effortlessly guiding my stunned limb out of the way.

It was electrifying. I was intoxicated by the masculine scent of his cologne, which was synonymous with Ya A, drunk on his words, and utterly wrecked by the feelings he stirred within me. He exhaled loudly, tucking me in closer as though there was still space between us.

"I'm selfish when it comes to you, Aysha. I want you for myself now, and I'll want you for myself for all eternity," he whispered, his chin resting gently on the top of my head.

I felt a slight change in him as I wrapped my arms around him willingly. Words escaped me, but I knew I had to assure him in the only way I could that his selfishness was most welcome. I loved everything he had said and him. Scenes like this had only lived in my imagination; to have them unfold in reality felt too good to be true. I didn't want the moment to end. Not now, not ever.

Scene II:

The words, written in an elegant and masculine penmanship that could only belong to him, made her heart squeeze. She read them aloud once.

To the most beautiful girl I know,

There was something peculiar about you that drew me in before I realized you and I could never be content as siblings. You asked me where you could put me; I suggest you keep me in your soul. You are already engraved in my heart, but where I need you to be the most now is in my home.

Hafsah Amaani na, my beautiful poet, my prettiest angel, my chest burns with everything I feel for you. I am attuned to your presence. I am madly in love with you.

Be mine?
I love you.

Amaani's eyes fell on the note once more, and this time, as she read it again, a wide grin broke over her lips. She whispered, "I love you too. I love you so much!"
