Warriors For A Dying Clan
Warriors For A Dying Clan: Stormstar speaks
Stormstar: I really thought it was the end of my clan. It was heartbreaking to find that all of my warriors besides Fallenflight were dead. I hate another two moons for Rainy Day's kits to be old enough to leave the nursery, then ages for them to become warriors. And who would mentor them? Fallenflight, Rainy, and Darksky would have to, but that would mean every cat in GreenClan besides Little Fox would be busy.
I had no choice but to send my cats to take shelter with MudClan, then leave with Fallenflight to twolegplace. I didn't want to make the same mistake as Muddy Feet and bring in a rogue like Snakestar. I wanted a kind cat, like Olivefur or Baypaw, who used to be kittypets.
When I got to twolegplace, the first cat I met was a kittypet named Fish. He was a kind golden tom who was perfectly content with being a kittypet. I tried to convince him to join GreenClan but he refused. Eventually I met two runaway kittypets, who were the perfect fit for warriors. They were brother and sister, named Fox and Red. Of course I made their apprentice names simple: Foxpaw and Redpaw.
I wanted three new apprentices; just enough to restore our clan once they were warriors. Along with Rainy Day's kits, that would be six apprentices, strong enough of a clan if I do say so myself. But the third cat was hard to find. And it took a long time.
I prayed to StarClan that my clan was safe back at home as Fallenflight and I settled down to sleep one night. Twolegplace was terrifying; there were rogues everywhere. I couldn't believe it!
Suddenly I was being attacked. The sharp claws of what were no doubt a rogue dug into my back, and a yowl of pain from Fallenflight told me that I wasn't the only one being attacked. But I was much stronger than a rogue, as I had been trained by the first leader of GreenClan herself. Flinging the rogue off of me I turned to claw at him, but already another cat had flung himself onto me. I struggled, but I was outnumbered. Soon I had been pinned to the ground with no idea how to defend myself.
But then a cat came flying to my rescue. A beautiful golden she-cat tore the rogue off of me and I was freed. Upon seeing the she-cat, the rogues all ran off without a trace.
"Wow." Fallenflight panted. "You fight better than any warrior I've ever seen!"
"Who are you?" I asked.
"My name is flower. Who are you?"
"I'm Stormstar, this is Fallenflight." I introduced us.
"Strange names. Where are you from?"
We sat and talked about clans until dawn. Flower said that she'd love to join my clan. I was excited to have such a wonderful fighter in GreenClan; She'd protect us from Snakestar for sure.
When I brought my three new apprentices back, they were all quite nervous. Redpaw and Foxpaw were afraid of Darksky; The old black warrior seemed very threatening. I reminded him that the future of GreenClan rested on our apprentices, and he finally stopped being so rude to the poor kittypets.
Rainy Day was very quiet lately. She was upset that her and Olivefur had been found out, but I didn't mind them. They supplied three healthy kits for my clan, so, what was the problem?
Dragonstar, on the other hand, despised poor Olivefur. He'd always hated kittypets, and was upset that his granddaughter, Rainy Day, had "spoiled" their warrior blood. He claimed that she should have had kits with a true warrior, because Red Eyes and I didn't have mates, and Winter Skies wasn't allowed to.
But, nonetheless, the three kits definitely had warrior blood in them. They were the strongest, healthiest kits I'd seen in a while. I truly believed they had a great destiny coming for them.
