The First Battle
The First Battle: Winter Skies and Stormwind speak
Winter Skies: Hello, traveler. I have quite the story for you today, so I won't waste time on introductions. Once Snakefang found out that Muddy Feet was dead, I brought him to Moonlight to receive his leader name: Snakestar. He was the first leader of the island clans to receive nine lives, as StarClan hadn't wanted to give Muddy Feet or Green Eyes lives. His first order of business was to appoint Dragon Wing as deputy, then give Olivepaw his warrior name: Olivefur. He then returned to twolegplace and brought back three of his rogue friends, Claw, Tiger, and Shark. He immediately gave them their warrior names: Clawpelt, Tigerstripe, and Sharkfang. I was upset that they never had to go through training, as the warrior code had been broken. When I told Snakestar about this, he threatened to drive me out of the clan.
Stormwind: I was horrified to learn that my uncle, Muddy Feet, was dead. I had always secretly thought of him as more of a father than my own father, Darksky. But I was even more shocked to learn that my own mother had been the one to kill him. Was she crazy? Muddy Feet's deputy, Snakefang, had been a rogue. He was furious when Muddy Feet died, putting all of GreenClan in danger. But MudClan was in even more danger, once Clawpelt, Tigerstripe, and Sharkfang joined. It was being taken over by rogues!
Winter Skies: I wanted to warn GreenClan of the danger that they were in. Snakestar was planning an attack on the weaker clan as revenge for my father's death, and to my horror, Dragon Wing supported it. Olivefur didn't, and claimed that it was too dangerous to go to war when the clans were so brand new. Baypaw and Red Eyes agreed, but the leader and deputy ignored them. I tried to warn them of StarClan's anger, but Snakestar had no respect for medicine cats. My apprentice, Baypaw, told me that Muddy Feet had visited her in a dream telling her that we must not go to battle; Snakestar and his rogues ignored this.
Stormwind: MudClan attacked our camp on the first day of leaf-bare. We weren't prepared for an attack at all. It was brutal; Clawpelt dragged me out of my nest and dug his teeth into my throat while I had only been trying to sleep. Because MudClan was created by Green Eyes' brother, she had never thought of them as a threat. But they were. I fought with all of my strength, kicking at Clawpelt's stomach with my back legs and digging my claws into his fur. He released me with a yowl when I managed to reopen a scar on his shoulder. But instead of running out of camp, he ran and leaped on the back of my sister, Rainy Day.
Winter Skies: I was the only cat that didn't go to battle, apart from Bopper, our elder, and Tigerstripe, who was pregnant with Snakestar's kits. Tigerstripe wasn't nearly as evil as Sharkfang or Snakestar; She was actually quite nice. She was sprawled out on her back mewing in hushed whispers to Bopper, who was licking her swollen stomach. She had become pregnant before Snakestar joined MudClan, so she was very close to kitting. It took me by surprise when Stormwind, who used to be my best friend, came running into our camp covered in blood.
Stormwind: I told Winter Skies that I needed his help. MudClan was destroying GreenClan, and I'd nearly been ripped to shreds trying to save my sister. I'd even been forced to fight my brother, Red Eyes, but he had been hesitant. I knew he didn't agree with the attack on GreenClan. We needed the help of every cat on the island to drive out Snakestar; he had gone mad. MudClan couldn't be led by him. He had only been leader for a few moonrises and he had already brought vicious rogues into the clan and waged a war on GreenClan.
Winter Skies: Stormwind and I rushed to help GreenClan. I knew that all of my clan besides the rogues would listen to a medicine cat. If I could grab their attention, I could tell them to drive Snakestar and the rogues out in time to save the warriors of GreenClan.
Stormwind: When I arrived at camp, I leaped down into the underground cave just in time to come face to face with Clawpelt, who had sunken his teeth into Green Eyes' throat. The GreenClan leader gave a massive shudder and went limp as I leaped onto the rogue. I dug my claws into Clawpelt's neck, letting my anger towards my mother's death overwhelm me. I kicked out furiously with my hind legs as I heard Winter Skies calling out to MudClan to attack Sharkfang and Snakestar. Seconds later Olivefur was at my side, digging his claws into the black tom's sides. I lashed out at his eyes while Olivefur held him down, blinding the massive cat. He let out a shriek that hurt my ears and ran out of the camp, disappearing through the bracken. Soon Sharkfang followed, so I turned to see Snakestar.
Winter Skies: Darksky had Snakestar pinned down, aiming blow after blow at the leader's eyes. Snakestar hissed and struggled, but in the end he went limp, his face and eyes so covered in scratches that I knew he would never see again. I announced to the cats that Snakestar was no longer leader of MudClan and Darksky bowed his head, claiming that Snakestar was now a prisoner of GreenClan.
Stormwind: Miraculously, the only cat killed in the battle was Green Eyes. Every cat was injured, especially Snakestar, but Liontail and Winter Skies confirmed that none of the injuries were fatal.
Winter Skies: That battle with GreenClan should have never happened. The rogues were driven out and Snakestar was imprisoned, and luckily we never had to deal with them again. Dragon Wing took the leader name Dragonstar, and appointed Tigerstripe as his deputy. Tigerstripe had three healthy kits, and as a form of respect she gave her firstborn, Fallenkit, to GreenClan.
Stormwind: To my surprise, Darksky claimed that he made a better deputy than leader. He said that he had no wish to lead GreenClan as he didn't know how. He appointed himself as the deputy, then myself as the leader.
