Father Of The Kits: Fallenpaw and Eaglepaw speak

Fallenpaw: Hello, traveler. Come to hear another story? Well, I have a good one. When I first found out that Rainy Day was having kits, I was shocked. The first thought that went through my head was who is the father? But none of the cats in the clan would have possibly been her mate. A she-cat never has to say who fathered her kits, so until I could convince her to admit who it was, I was clueless.

Eaglepaw: I just knew Olivefur was the father of Rainy Day's kits. He was always sneaking out and he looked guilty, like he knew he was breaking the warrior code. I couldn't wait to meet the kits, when they became apprentices, so that I might be able to confirm my theory.

Fallenpaw: When Eaglepaw told me he thought Olivefur was the father,I didn't believe him. Rainy would never break the warrior code! At least, that was what I thought. But then when Spider Web brought the news that the kits had been born and I was brought to see them, I started to believe. The biggest one, Rainy's firstborn, looked exactly like Olivefur. His name was Thornkit, and he had two sisters, Honeykit and Frozenkit.

Eaglepaw: When Fallenpaw told me that Thornkit looked just like Olivefur, it practically confirmed my theory. I wanted to follow him one of the times he snuck out, but Spottedpaw and I were so close to becoming warriors that I didn't want to risk Dragonstar becoming angry with me. Instead, I asked Fallenpaw to do it.

Fallenpaw: I was very hesitant. I was scared to death of Rainy catching me, but I decided that as long as I stayed far enough behind, it was worth it. One night, as I was guarding the camp, she showed up with the kits. She hadn't brought the kits out before, but she said that she wanted them to get some fresh air. I nodded, pretending to believe her, as she pushed the tiny kits out the door. Then I followed her straight into MudClan territory. She pushed the kits all the way to a small overhang, where Oliverfur sat waiting. He jumped up upon seeing what was undoubtedly his kits, purring loudly. "Are you our father?" Asked the smallest kit, Frozenkit. Oliverfur let out a small mrrow of laughter. "Yes." I couldn't wait to tell Eaglepaw! I ran straight back to camp, only to find the clan frantic. "Rainy Day and the kits are missing!" Darksky was howling in distress. "Spider Web has been murdered! It's Snakestar, I saw him! He's going to kill us all!"

Eaglepaw: The news of Spider Web's murder was a shock to both clans. Dragonstar announced that the whole island was in danger because of Snakestar; He'd kill all of GreenClan, then MudClan. He made Spottedpaw and I warriors and gave us the warrior names Spottedfeather and Eagletail. Fallenpaw earned her warrior name too, becoming GreenClan's only warrior, Fallenflight.
Fallenflight: I wasn't happy to become a warrior. With Little Fox in the Elders den and Rainy Day in the nursery, I had was the only remaining warrior; the next to be killed. Stormstar was frantic for a way to build his clan again. He didn't know how.

Eagletail: When I told Dragonstar Olivefur's secret, all he did was tell Stormstar, who offered him a place in GreenClan. To my surprise, he refused. He said that he belonged in MudClan with his best friends, Bopper and Baypaw.

Fallenflight: I knew it was my fault that Spider Web had died. I had been the one to leave the camp unguarded. Because of that I came with Stormstar to twolegplace, to find kittypets to make into warriors. We had no other choice; our clan would be destroyed if we didn't find new warriors fast. But every cat in twolegplace was either too hostile or uninterested in becoming a warrior. We were hopeless.
