Among The Tree's - part 2
The meadow of crows.
It carries secrets no one knows.
The chilling tale of a skeleton girl that haunts the land.
They say if you walk through the meadow you can hear cries.
Some even have felt a cold bony little hand grasp them.
The meadow and land surrounding has a erie feel.
Crows clustered in the trees caw, frantically.
The haunting sound carried in the breeze.
It was a chilly fall day nearly the same day many years ago.
When tragedy found it's way to the small town.
Answers never found.
The boy new to town heard tell of the story of the meadow of crows.
Of a ghost girl that haunts the land.
Her body never found.
He ventures cautiously looking around, the long grass rolling in the crisp evening breeze.
The crows watch silently from the trees.
Curiosity drives him to catch a glimpse of the skeleton girl.
He looks nervously towards the trees.
His feeling of unease increases feeling as if he is being watched.
He calls out " hello is anyone here?"
A ice cold blast of air hits him from behind.
In his ear, he hears the chilling voice of a girl whisper "Im here, help!"
The boy frighten lets out a yelp and starts to run.
The evening growing increasingly late and cold starts to set in.
As he runs through the trees they scratch and pull at his clothes and hair.
He feels something there following close behind.
This time when he glances around, he sees the skeleton girl peeking out among the trees.
She beckons him with her bony hand.
He starts to run and stops looking back.
The crows watch, ready to attack.
The look of sorrow on her ghostly face makes his heart race.
Yet he feels the need to turn around.
He follows the sound of the skeleton girl as she moves through the trees.
At the base of a tree is a hollowed out trunk under the leaves.
He sees a bit of filthy cloth, as he moves the leaves aside.
Hidden deeper is the body of the little skeleton girl curled up on the ground.
Her body finally found.
She appears to him and says shes been lost for many years.
The night the sudden snow storm blew in she grew to cold to go on.
Crawled into the tree to seek shelter and froze.
Her story and many more no one knows.
Her soul unable to move on, trapped in the meadow.
The crows and elements hiding the place of her demise.
She touches the boys hand, and to his surprise he sees the girl that once had long back hair, a playful smile and beautiful eyes.
He feels her sorrow and hears her cries.
She whispers to him " it's time for me to go."
Before she slowly fades away, he hears her say, "the meadow of crows holds many more secrets you don't know.
