"Why are you so sad?" Maya asked me after seeing my gloomy expression. I just sighed..

"I can tell you but promise me that you won't laugh" i asked ..

"Okay, i promise" she reassured. Her face was mixed with worries and concerns for me.. 

"So, there's a book i was reading.. Tales of Love..  it's a love triangle. And the couple I was rooting for wasn't the endgame " i said looking down..
She chuckled but stopped when i glared at her.

"It's just a story" maya started

"A story where the second female lead loves the hero so much that she could do anything for him but that jerk married her only to take Revange. Her father was a demon who killed his father and mother for money. Also treated her and her brother like shit. But just when she fell in love, she thought maybe her husband would love her, she gets to know that he married her to take Revange. He kept her brother as a hostage and killed her father in front of her eyes. And then emotionally tortured her.. and worse, he had an affair with her best friend. Her best friend betrayed her.. she knew the plan all along but still let everything happen because she was jealous of her. And guess what? That best friend is the female lead.. they tortured her so much that she died and then they ended up together.. that fucking bastard.. " i ranted about the story.

"Damn.. that's problematic." She said, her face showing similar emotions as mine.

"I really wanted the wife to do something but all she did was cry.. pathetic" i said, i was frustrated.

"You won't believe it, so the other woman complained to the husband that his wife was bragging about how she was the wife and she is the one he sleeps with.. the whole thing was a lie. She didn't say anything like that. But the husband once had sex with her when he was drunk and when he heard that woman saying how she bragged about it and tried to insult his lover.. later said to his wife that he was thinking about another woman while fucking her.." maya gasped..

"If i was the wife, i would have said that there's nothing to brag about because you weren't anything special. Your skills in bed were just average.. well barely average.. because nothing hurts a man's ego more than this.. and ge deserves to be hurt like he did. But guess what she did after hearing him?"

"What?"

"She cried.. pathetic..now i don't know if she was pathetic or I'm too toxic.." i huffed in annoyance..

"I hate these types of stories" she said

"Me too.." i huffed in annoyance..

Damn that wife..

"Anyway, don't waste time on these things.. let's go, we'll have to go now.. it's getting late and-" before she could finish, my phone rang..i Picked it up. It was my boss..

"Come here quickly, there's an extra delivery now" he said

"But boss, my shift just ended now"i started but he cut me off

"Don't make me repeat myself. Just come and take the food." He stated and cut the call..

Fuck you !

I looked at maya helplessly and she patted my shoulder.. giving me a pitiful look..

"Someday i just want to kill someone you know.." i said and she chuckled

"Go now.." she said and i nodded

"Bye" i said.. and then turning around my scooter, i left.. she went to our shared apartment..

Maya and i grew up in the same orphanage and moved out together. We've been inseparable since then and did everything together. She's my best friend and the sister i never had in my life..

I reached there and they handed me the package. I took it and hurriedly went back to my scooter..

One day I'll definitely kill this boss for doing this to me..

I sped up and stopped in front of a big house..

The day i become rich, I'll buy a house like this..

I shook my head and came back to reality. For now i have to deliver this food.. so i hurriedly went towards the door.. and rang the bell, texted the number that was given in the order that their food has arrived.. i placed the food box in front of the door..

And just as i was about to leave, the door opened..

It's as if the door of heaven opened here

Because a man stepped out. Tall, broad shoulder, fair skin, Greek god type facial features.. is he a model or an actor? If not then what a loss of this face.

Damn...

"Thanks" he said.. his voice sounded smooth and elegant.. confidence radiating from him..
I bowed and handed him the food.. he smiled..

What a beautiful smile..

Then he also bowed

and i left from there.. coming here wasn't a bad idea after all..and got on my scooter.. i decided to throw that stupid book.. no need to keep that pathetic shit with me.. i started my scooter and was speeding off .. i didn't notice a dog in front of me and when i did, i immediately turned to the other side of the road.

The dog was saved but before i could process, a car hit my scooter and i fell off.. my body lay there, and on the side, the book fell off ..

I tried to keep my eyes open when a few people gathered around but suddenly i felt a pull and everything went black.. the last thing i saw was the book on the ground beside me
