 “This is an awful wrecked city alright”, Hibiki said.

“I can’t sense any parfum at all”, Ichiya said.

“I can’t love something like this”, Cherry fidgeted.

“This ruins…..”, Erza started.

“It looks like they were hit by something from above”, Ren said.

“No, it’s not, if it is there wouldn’t be columns left standing”, Lucy said.

“Something erupted here that’s certain”, Gray said.

“With an island like this, the only thing that could hit them is water”, Jenny heeded.

“And we should look for the thing that caused this?”, Gajeel scoffed.

“Where do we begin?”, Wendy asked.

“Let’s split up. It would be faster that way. When you found something unusual, use your powers as signals to the skies”, Jura said as a strategy.

“How did it come to this?”, Gray thought. Right now the plan was not in his favour. They split up as what was decided but he would have loved the idea if they sorted the groupings into guild members. Here he is walking together with Juvia, Lyon, Hibiki, Ren and Eve, Nichiya was with them.

“Umm, this is quite an awkward grouping huh?”, Eve awkwardly said.

“Let’s work together”, Lyon said.

“Agreed”, Juvia casually said.

Meanwhile the other groups headed to different locations as well. Natsu, Lucy, Jura, Happy, Ichiya and Erza headed towards the northern part of the city.

“Why the heck am I stuck with this girls!”, Gajeel annoyingly shouted.

“Who knows? You drew the unluckiest straw perhaps”, Jenny said, crossing her arms like she doesn’t care.

“Why can’t I be with Lyon-sama’s group?”, Cherry said.

“It’s not like we chose this to happen”, Charle said. “Ah!”, Charle stiffened as a vision took her mind away.

“GRAY-SAMAAA!!!!”, Juvia hysterically crying his name.

“Charle?”, Wendy looked at her. Charle quickly tried to recover herself.

“Gajeel, get a grip”, Lily said.

“How the hell do you expect me to do that!”, Gajeel scowled.

“How annoying, let’s go”, Jenny turned sand started walking awaay followed by Wendy, Cherry and Charles leaving a scowling Gajeel behind.

“Elric-sama, I have some grave news from our people assigned to look for the Water’s Tear”, the maid said as she approached Elric Anidrew.

“Oh right, how were they? They should be near our ports by now right? I’m sure…”, Elric Anidrew’s sentence was cut off when he took notice of what the maid was holding out for him to see. “What is the…”

“They’re dead my liege”, the maid gravely said. “One of them managed to come back and told us what had happened”

“What happened!”, Elric demanded.

“It seems that when they located the island, a monster has stopped them from going forth. They withdrew for they fear that they will not be good enough to handle it. They were able to send the pigeon holding the information we needed. I don’t know the details my Lord. The survivor is taken care of in the hospital near the mansion. His life is not in danger”, the maid explained.

“I need to see him immediately. Tell the doctors to do whatever they can to help him”, Elric ordered.

“As you wish”, the maid bowed to him as he turned back to look out his window.

“Why did I ever let Master Jude and Mistress Layla’s only daughter in such a danger. Please return safely, Lady Lucy”, Elric thought with worry.

“There’s really nothing in here that shows life in it”, Jura said as they walked through rubbles and ruins.

“Well what do you expect? It was destroyed after all”, Natsu said jumping to one of the rubbles.

“Even if there are survivors I don’t think they will stay here knowing that the reason for the city’s destruction was taken here”, Ichiya said.

“Still, to see something like this, it gives me the same feeling when Acnologia attacked Tenrou seven years ago. The effect is almost the same”, Erza said.

“Aye, there’s a menacing aura around here”, Happy said.

“Hey Lucy, you know about this treasure right? Can you tell us about it?”, Natsu turned towards Lucy who was on the verge of making her way through the rubbles.

“Aside from what was already told in the mansion?”, Lucy asked.

“I’m kind of intrigued by this treasure as well. If it’s something so small, how can it destroy the city as big as Muriel?”, Jura asked as well.

“Lucy? You know something more about this right? Would you mind telling us?”, Erza asked.

They gathered around and sat on the rubbles.

“You see, when I was taken inside Levy-chan’s book, I held the Water’s Tear but I never thought that it was real. I actually thought it was just the result of Levy-chan and Minora-chan’s imagination. I mean it wasn’t even mentioned in the book of Alice in Wonderland”, Lucy explained. “When we got back from being sucked inside the book and after the festival, I took the opportunity to read something about it. I saw some intriguing stories about them but most of the facts…..I read from one of the books back on our house”

“You mean your mansion?”, Erza asked.

“Yes. I found it on Father’s study. The book says that the Water’s Tear is one of the devices created from a mermaid’s last tear”, Lucy shivered at the thought.

“Last tear?”, Jura made a fearful expression.

“What does it mean?”, Ichiya was frightened as well.

“Yes. When a mermaid cried, the last tear that will come out of their eyes before they die is called their last tear but this is the first time it materializes and became the Water’s Tear. It was supposed to be sealed away just like the others. It was handed down to the Anidrews so they can seal it. There are different things like it. Like the dark sword that was handed down to Nero which the Jureners protected and the hand of the clock to the Infinity Castle which was handed down to my father for me to seal away”, Lucy continued. “The Water’s Tear, controls every form of water and summons it whenever it wishes. Some says that when it was left unsealed, the spirit of the Merrow in the waters residing in it bring destruction”

“Merrows?”, Natsu asked.

“Another name for Mermaids I presume”, Erza said.

“That’s right. If the Water’s Tear goes berserk, it can wipe out a third of the world if it pleases. There’s a way to break it but the details about that was deeply hidden. I think the Anidrew’s have it though”, Lucy said.

“Then that only means we have to return it back for the client to break it himself”, Natsu said.

“No, it’s highly dangerous to take it there. It might go berserk and do the same thing as it did in this place. Don’t worry though, I asked Master Elric to look for the documents right away. He said he will try to get in touch with us when he found out something about it”, Lucy said.

“Then that only leaves us to finding it”, Erza stood up. “Come on, we still need to look for it before it activates again”, the others stood up as well.

“Can we stop for a minute?”, Jenny said, panting as she slumped on the ground.

“Tch, why are women so weak?”, Gajeel said with annoyance.

“Well not all women are as muscular as you. Give us some time to catch our breaths. We were walking for an hour already”, Cherry said.

“Gajeel, I guess taking a break is not so bad. Besides, most of them are tired already”, Lily said.

“Umm, I can still walk though”, Wendy said although her breathing failed her.

“No you can’t. Look at you, you look like you needed a sleep than just a break”, Charle said.

“Whatever”, Gajeel turned around and sat at one of the boulders.

“Master Elric, I’ve brought him”, the maid entered again with three doctors beside her. They were pushing a bed with a bandaged man lying on it.

“Thank you” Elric walked near the bed. “I know it’s too sudden. You must be hurting but please, I need to ask you what happened on your way back. Only you survived. Why is that?”

The bandaged man jerked his body and shakily, he grabbed Elric’s hand.

“The….the…”, he stuttered. “Water…..attacked….a demon…..spoke….it crushed…the ship….it hurts….I’m drowning…..the others…..were…sucked…..further….under the…waters….”

“A demon spoke? What do you mean? What did it say?”, Elric asked.

“’Suffer…..I will….take away…your souls….your feelings….are all…mine….I’ll take it…all….anyone…who takes it….dies’….the crystal ball……said it…..”, the man stuttered again.

“Crystal ball? Are you sure it was a crystal ball?”, Elric gripped his hand but not too tightly.

“It said: “It has….begun…Water’s…Tear!”, the man lost consciousness after that. Elric’s eyes were wide.

“The Water’s Tear….is awake”, he slumped on the ground. He turned sharply to his servants. “Gather all the books you can find inside the mansion that shown anything about the Water’s Tear! Bring it all here! Bring it all to me!”, he furiously demanded. “Greta…”, he looked at his personal maid.

“Yes Master?”, asked his maid.

“Give me the information about all the mages we sent out to Muriel”, Elric Anidrew said.

“I understand”, the maid named Greta said.
