2nd Droplet of Water: A Bitter Pill To Swallow

“Man, I’m really out of it today”, Gray leaned his head on the bar counter. Mira and Kinana looked at him with confusion.

“You look depressed over something Gray, what could it be?”, Mira’s sweet and gentle voice soothed the Ice Mage.

“Nothing, maybe Natsu’s just rubbing into me. He gets on my nerves sometimes”, Gray said with utter irritation. Due to Natsu’s enhanced hearing, he heard it clearly and burst into flames.

“Hey squinty eyes, what are you saying in there?”, asked Natsu who was battling with battle aura on Gray.

“You got a problem with that?”, said Gray fighting him with a glare.

“Gray, your clothes”, Lucy and Happy said in unison, noticing Gray’s amazingly fast stripping habit.

“They’re at it again”, Kinana held the plate tightly while smiling at them. Erza just shoved it off, it was troublesome to keep them from fighting each other.

“What is it? A fight?”, asked Romeo.

“You’re too young to be involved in one!”, Macao scolded his son.

“A real man is always ready in fights!”, Elfman exclaimed.

“Elf-nii, I don’t think that’s necessary to announce”, said Lisanna.

Everyone joined in and the regular brawl started yet again in Fairy Tail guild.

“Gray-sama, you’re still as awesome as before! No, Juvia thinks you’re even more!”, Juvia was fidgeting from afar.

“Looks like Juvia-san is the only one enjoying this”, Wendy stood beside a table far from the group who are fighting together with Lucy, Happy, Charle, Levy and Romeo.

“That woman never change”, said Charle.

“Ho! This guild never changes. Still as loud as ever, I see”, a group stood from outside the doors. Silence erupted and they were surprised to who their sudden guests are.

“Yo! Master Makarov has such an energetic guild”, a man said, wearing a traditional hakama.

“Wendy-chan! I came to see you”, said a cute little voice from a red-headed girl.

“Lucy-chan! Let’s have a cuteness contest now”, said another redhead.

“Hm”, said a man’s voice.

“Lyon!”, Gray exclaimed.

“Lamia Scale!”, said all the Fairy Tail members.

“It’s been a long time”, Lyon saluted them.

“Chelia-san!”, Wendy excitedly said.

“And Cherry too”, said Lucy.

“Ahhh!”, Lyon suddenly shouted when his eyes zeroed to the person he wanted to see the most out of the group of Fairies. All eyes turned and centered to the woman standing from afar.

“Eh?”, Juvia looked from left to right, noticing their gazes even from her beloved Gray-sama. “EH!!!”

“Juvia, your face is still as lovely as ever”, Lyon already stood beside her, holding her hand in a very seductive way.

“W-what are you…”, Juvia stuttered, her face all red.

“Have you already made up your mind whether you’ll join our guild?”, asked Lyon, already kneeling in front of her.

“B-but, Juvia is already…”, Juvia tried to interrupt.

“Don’t fret my love, you are just bound in this guild, but worry not, I…”, Lyon couldn’t finish what he was saying because Natsu and Gray had already kicked him.

“Don’t you try to bribe our friends! / If you came here just to flirt, do it somewhere else!”, Natsu and Gray said in unison while Lyon was seen flying off the guild. Juvia was left dumb-founded and love strucked.

In Juvia’s eyes…

“Lyon! Don’t you dare lay a hand on Juvia! She’s already mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!”, those words kept repeating and echoing inside her mind as she pictured out Gray holding her while kicking Lyon away.

End of Juvia’s imagination….

“Kyaaahh!!! Juvia belongs to Gray-sama alone!”, Juvia’s eyes popped with hearts floating from it, her happiness overflowing.

“Hey! Don’t imagine weird things!”, Gray shouted at her.

“Darn you Gray!”, Lyon stood angrily at him, his clothes were already gone. Chelia and Cherry were in the same wavelength as Juvia at this point.

“Lyon-sama!”, both shrieked in excitement.

“Bring it on”, Gray was enjoying the challenge against his childhood friend and classmate.

“G-gray-sama….”, Juvia was blushing as she looked at him. “Kyaaahhh!! Good, this is really good. Juvia is in heaven! Fighting, they are fighting over Juvia! Gray-sama…and Lyon-sama…are fighting over Juvia’s love”, Juvia’s mind is stuck on her own world again.

“We/They are so not!”, Chelia, Cherry and Gray shouted.

“Well I am”, Lyon announced.

“Spot on!”, Lucy blushed at what she just heard.

“Aye sir!”, Happy agreed.

“Hey!”, Gray shouted again, this time pointing to Lucy and Happy.

“Then if that is not the case, why are you into this Gray?”, Lyon asked in  a mocking tone. At that moment all eyes turned to Gray alone. Even Juvia wants to hear what he’ll answer to that one.

Gray was lost in words. Why is he doing this anyway? Is it really just because he hates to lose to anyone just like Natsu? No it is more than that, but what? Suddenly, a thought popped in Gray’s mind.

“I…”, Gray uttered.

All ears leaned to what he’s going to say. Juvia’s heart beats faster every second.

“Yes Gray?”, Lyon smirked at him. With this, Gray’s eyebrows twitched.

“I just wanted to show you that you still can’t beat me with anything! No one can beat me, not Natsu or you! When it comes to challenges, I always win! Be it with girls or friends!”, Gray said in an assuring voice. All the girls dropped to the floor while all the boys were insulted by his sudden announcement. However, Juvia took it seriously.

“Really? However, it doesn’t look like that to me. So, if what you’re saying is true, then Juvia wouldn’t mean anything to you more than just an item for showing off your advantage to other men. Then that means you’re toying with her feelings. You’re using her for your own good!”, Lyon declared. Gray stepped back a little. He surely didn’t saw that one coming.

Juvia was lost in thought as well, hearing Lyon said that made her think a little.

“Shut up! Who cares if it was!”, Gray blurted out, not fully thinking what he just said. As soon as it came out from his mouth, Lucy and the other girls were awestruck, they clearly heard it and as women, they feel what those words meant.

“Gray-sama…”, Juvia sadly said from afar. Gray couldn’t bear the thought of looking at her, knowing the sound of her voice means no good.

“J..Juvia?”, Lucy stuttered. Juvia was literally giving out a dark and frightful aura, even Erza was staring at her with fear.

“W-wait a minute! It’s not…”, Gray tried to say.

“Gray-sama you idiot!”, Juvia dashed out of the building with tears in her eyes. Form outside, it started raining hard.

“J..Juvia”, Lucy just said as she looked outside.

“That must have hurt”, said Mira.

“Gray!”, Erza angrily shouted.

“Well then, this will be my cue it seems”, Lyon said as he walks out the building.

“We’ll visit you again!”, Chelia waved at them and headed out as well.

“Hey Lyon! Don’t leave…..”, Gray stopped when Erza and Lucy strangled him to death.

“Gray! Follow Juvia now!”, Lucy angrily said.

“I will never forgive you for this Gray!”, Erza shouted as well.

“If…..you two….will just…get off…..then…I’ll do so…”, Gray choked out as he tried to breathe hard.

“Go!”, both women kicked him out of the guild.

Gray searched for the missing water woman for hours under the rain but he has no clue where could she be then it hit him that if there was anywhere she loves to go, it would be the river so he did what his instincts told him and there she was, sitting on the riverbank, looking sadly at the water.

“Hey”, Gray started, getting closer to her. Juvia made no response until Gray was perfectly close beside her. “You’ve been here for hours, why don’t we go back?”, Gray asked but Juvia was still ignoring him. She’s angry, that’s for sure. It was the second time Gray saw her angry with him that much. The first time was with the Phantom during Lucy’s capture, thinking Lucy was her love rival for him.

“Come on, don’t tell me you’re really angry with what I…”, Gray stopped when he heard Juvia.

“Gray-sama. What you said back in the guild, is it true?”, Juvia asked seriously still not looking at him.

“What? You’re still hung up to that? I was just annoyed with Lyon”, Gray said.

“What about Juvia? If the situation calls for it, will you use me as well?”, Juvia asked again.

“You know I….”, Gray was about to say something when Juvia beat him to it.

“Juvia’s love doesn’t reach you. Juvia’s love means nothing to Gray-sama. After all, Gray-sama never showed any signs of concern for Juvia besides being a comrade. Gray-sama is so cruel to Juvia. Gray-sama was the one who asked Juvia to join Fairy Tail. Juvia loves Fairy Tail with all her heart but it pains Juvia when Gray-sama doesn’t see her or notice her feelings. Gray-sama, why don’t you just tell me you don’t have any feelings for me! Why don’t you see my efforts and look at me for once!”, Juvia’s words were on the verge of showing that she’s crying.

“Juvia, wait a minute. I’m practically not in the mood for what you’re….”

“I’m leaving Fairy Tail”, Juvia just blurted out. At that moment, Gray’s eyes widened with fear. “Goodbye Gray”, she said.
