“Huh?”, Lucy exclaimed.

“What is it Lucy?”, Minora asked. Wendy and Cherry scooted closer to her.

“What’s with this? There’s nothing here”, Lucy said and showed them the journal. There is nothing written inside.

“What? How can it be? Elric-sama told me it was the journal of his grandfather. He confirmed it himself”, Minora defended.

“Then why is this empty?”, Lucy said. She examined it for a while and looked at the necklace at her feet.

“What? So this is a wasted journal after all? Why did he even bother having one if he won’t write a single thing on it?”, Cherry complained.

“The journal seems to be pretty worn out though”, Wendy said.

“There are some traces of blood in it as well”, Lily said.

“No way. It can’t be”, Lucy said like she realized something.

“Lucy?”, they all asked with confusion.

“What if….Everyone, stand back”, Lucy warned them as she held the book with her left hand.

“What are you…”, Cherry was shocked but stepped back with Wendy and the others.

“I’m thinking about it before since the documents about this land were handed to us. Earwyn himself is a wizard”, Lucy took the necklace from the ground. “His journal was in this state because he wanted his story to be hidden. I think this necklace is the key to our discovery”, Lucy tangled the necklace around the book and it shone brightly with a blinding light. “Huh? AHHHH!”, Lucy shouted.

“Lucy!”, Minora and the others were alarmed.

“Gah!”, Natsu and the others appeared panting as they held the injured in their arms. Jenny was unconscious which was held by Hibiki. Eve and Ren were in Ichiya and Jura’s arms. Erza and Natsu are alright but they’re on the verge of collapsing as well due to exhaustion. Gray was held up by Lyon.

“Everyone!”, Cherry and Wendy ran up to them and helped them to lie down when they arrived.

“It seems you guys are safe”, Erza said.

“I’ll heal you now”, Wendy performed her healing magic.

“I’ll help you. Crucis!”, Minora expanded Crucis and amplified Wendy’s range of healing.

“Thanks Minora”, Wendy and Erza said.

“Hey what’s with Lucy?”, Natsu noticed Lucy’s still figure, holding the book in her hands as if in a daze.

“We don’t know. She’s been like that since that book started glowing too”, Cherry said.

“What do you mean?”, Hibiki asked.

“Lucy-san said that the owner of that journal lived here and knows Muriel, the goddess who is possessing Juvia-san. When we tried to read the journal, we can’t read anything because there’s nothing written. That’s when Lucy-san told us that Earwyn-san was a wizard and that the necklace that Minora-san delivered with the journal is the key. When she used it, it glowed and when we saw her she’s been like that ever since”, Wendy explained.

“WHAT! What could be happening to her now?”, Natsu went closer to get a better look. Lucy was indeed in a trance with no sign of ever snapping away from it for the time being.

“Do you think she’s reading the journal?”, Charle asked.

“I guess. The journal is turning its pages as time passes. Let’s see what happens when it ends”, Jura replied.

Suddenly, Lucy looked at them and when her vision zeroed on Gray, Gray’s body glowed and he was slowly fading from Lyon’s grasp.

“Gray!”, Everybody can’t do anything but watch until he was no were to be seen.

“Where am I?”, Lucy looked at her surroundings. She was still at the same spot where the cave is but it’s somehow different. There were trees covering the place and the cave was hidden behind a waterfall. She heard footsteps coming her way so she hid behind a huge rock.

“Hey brother, where are you going?”, a young man said.

“I’m supposed to be going home but I have to take some water from here”, the other said, he looks older than the other one and he was holding a jar and filled it with water.

“They’re…wait have I gone inside the book? Not again….Wait! I could ask them for help”, she jumped out of her hiding place and walked towards them. “Umm, sorry, but can you please tell me where I am? Or what date it is probably”, Lucy asked. The two men didn’t make a move interpreting that they heard her.

“If you’re finished why don’t we head home already?”, the younger man asked.

“You’re such a kill joy you know that?”, the older said. They walked away from the waters and heading directly to where Lucy was standing.

“Umm, please help me”, Lucy tried to stop them but they can’t seem to hear her. Rather, they passed directly through her like she was a ghost or something. ‘WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING!”, she freaked out a little bit.

“Hey, don’t tell me you’re going in here again later”, the older one said.

“Of course, I already told you right? It’s good you are letting me go here but you still don’t believe in anything I’ve told you huh?”, the younger one said.

“How can I believe you? You are talking nonsense! How can you say you found the one you love here huh? And if you’re not really insane, you told me you’re in love with a mermaid!”, the older said.

“SHHHH!”, the younger one held the older man’s lips. “I told you it was a secret right! I’ll definitely be dumped if you say it out loud. I trust you alright so you better keep your promise in not telling a soul about this”, the younger said.

“Yeah right. You are still way too underdeveloped though, my younger brother”, the older one rummaged the younger’s hair.

“Stop it Eanri!”, the younger backed away from him.

“Let’s go now, Earwyn”, the older handed him the jar of water.

“What the heck! Why are you making me carry this?”, Earwyn complained.

“It’s your duty today”, Eanri said.

“Earwyn? That’s Earwyn! Then this…..I’m witnessing his life in the island!”, Lucy exclaimed. She decided to follow the two for further discoveries.

Night time…..

“Are you going out now? It’s still a bit early”, Eanri said, spotting Earwyn by the door. Lucy was following him.

“I can’t let her wait right?”, Earwyn said.

“Alright. Good luck”, Eanri said. “Be sure to be back before midnight, some villagers are patrolling”, Eanri reminded him.

“Alright, thanks big brother”, Earwyn ran out of the house with Lucy following behind.

“Huh! Everyone what’s happening?”, Eve asked and pointed above Lucy. They saw images, the same thing Lucy was seeing inside the book.

“What the heck!”, Gajeel exclaimed.

“Lucy-san! Lucy-san was being the medium from what was written in the journal”, Minora said.

“Then that means, we’re actually witnessing what Earwyn Anidrew has written there?”, Erza asked.

“I guess so”, Lyon said.

“Hey! Is that!”, Natsu pointed out. Everyone’s eyes widened.

“GRAY!”

“Where is he going? This path looks like it’s leading to…”,Lucy was following him amidst the darkness. They followed the route where the cave is located. Earwyn went inside the cave and Lucy followed him. The cave was illuminated just like when they arrived to retrieve the Water’s Tear. Although, what was sitting at the edge of the lake wasn’t the shrine or the Water’s Tear, it was a mermaid. Her golden locks swayed at the back of her head with shells decorating it. Her scaly tail was shimmering like crystals.

“Huh!”, Lucy looked behind her when she heard someone’s footsteps. “Mmmph!”, she struggled because someone was covering her mouth and restraining her.

“Shhhh, it’s just me”, Gray whispered softly in her ears. Lucy saw him much better now.

“Gray?! What are you doing here?”, she asked.

“I don’t know either. Anyway, if I’m correct, we are probably witnessing what was written in the journal you are reading right?”, he asked.

“Yes, I believe there’s something in here that’s not right”, Lucy said.

“If this helps, let’s keep an eye on them”, he said. Lucy just nodded as they silently watched Earwyn and Muriel from afar.

“Am I late?”, Earwyn asked with a very gleeful tone.

The mermaid turned to look at him. Surely the mermaid was a goddess. Her beautiful face matched her appearance greatly. Even all the girls will be envious of her beauty.

“No, just in time. I missed you”, she said with a high soprano voice. It rung inside the cave like a song.

“I did too”, Earwyn walked closer to her and sat beside her. She welcomed him in her arms like she was seeking home and so does he.

“Earwyn. My dear sweet Earwyn”, the mermaid said with desire.

“I’m here. I’ll always be here my love”, he held her face with his longing hands. “You’re still as beautiful as always, Muriel”, he said.

“That was….Muriel”, Lucy and Gray gasped.
