“Are you ready?”, the girl smiled at him.

“Who are you?”, Natsu demanded.

The girl smiled again as she ran away. He followed her but she’s too fast.

“Natsu….”, he heard Lucy’s voice. He stopped and turned around.

“Lucy?”, he mumbled. Everything around him is dark. “Where are you?”

“I’m here”, Lucy’s voice echoed.

“Where?”, Natsu ran again as he desperately look for her.

“NATSU HELP!!!!”, Lucy’s voice echoed. His ears perked with worry as he ran faster.

“Lucy? Where are you?”, he ran and ran towards the darkness. “LUCY!!!!”

“NATSU? NATSU!!!!”, he opened his eyes and sat up with his hands in front of him reaching for something.

The sun is illuminating its sunrise. Lucy is sitting beside him shaking him with all her might. “Natsu are you alright?”, she asked more worried now; the look on her eyes were really of worry.

“I’m….”, Natsu stuttered. He has beads of sweat building up on his forehead. On instinct he hugged Lucy for comfort. Lucy was taken aback but let him do what he wants.

“He-Hey! What’s into you? What happened?”, Lucy blushed. She can feel the heat of his body and the fast beating of his heart.

“Just…a nightmare…can you let me do this for a while?”, he said, wrapping his hands tighter. Lucy never saw this side of Natsu; so vulnerable yet so strong. Happy was still sounding asleep beside him.

“Don’t worry; it’s okay. I’m here Natsu”, Lucy patted his back. Natsu just nodded at her.

After two minute of silence and hugging….

“Just so you know, we have to get to the guild early. Erza and Gray came by earlier and told us that the Master wants to see us as soon as possible”

“Why does Gramps wants us so early in the morning?”, Natsu asked when he recovered, stretching from the bed.

“I don’t know but we have to get there or Erza’s going to kill us for sure”, Lucy reminded him of how cruel Erza can get when it comes to obeying the Master’s orders. “Come on, don’t tell me you really want to anger Erza”

“Nope, I’ll get up now. Just give me a sec”, he said, heading towards the bathroom.

“You know Natsu, you should stop spending the night in my room. The people might misunderstand. It’s not appropriate for a lady like me to have a man in my apartment who is not related to me in any way”, she said.

“Why? We’re friends right? And also, we’re partners. What’s wrong with hanging out?”, he said as he went out the bathroom.

“Never mind. You’ll never get it anyway”, Lucy sighed in defeat. He wouldn’t understand it no matter what she says.

“You two lllllliiiikkkkeee each other”, Happy rolled his tongue with his paw in his mouth. He was already up minutes ago after Natsu entered the bathroom and was waiting for his two partners to get ready.

“Don’t roll your tongue like that”, Lucy sighed again.

“Anyway, don’t we have to go now?”, Natsu reminded the two when he stepped out.

“Crap! Let’s go!”, Lucy dashed outside her room but before she makes it to the door, Natsu grabbed her. “What do you think you’re doing!”, she asked, somehow she doesn’t feel good with whatever he was planning. “Don’t tell me…”, she shivered.

“It’s faster through the window!”, Natsu tossed her out the window.

“KYAAAHHH!!!!”, she shrieked. Happy caught her before she hit the ground.

“Safe!”, Happy cheered. Natsu landed swiftly by their side.

“I can’t believe you did it to me again!”, she said. He’s been doing that for a while now whenever they have to leave her apartment in a hurry.

“Get used to it already”, Natsu just grinned at her. “Let’s go!”, he walked away, heading towards the guild.

“This guy will be the death of me someday I swear!”, Lucy thought as she followed him with Happy.

“Master, we’re here”, Erza knocked on the Master’s office announcing their arrival.

“Come in”, Master Makarov permitted them to come in.

They were greeted by the sight of the Master in his desk, scribbling something while wearing his glasses. Laxus was at the side organizing some paper works.

“I see you’re all present”, he stopped for a moment to look at them.

“You have something for us to do?”, Erza reminded him.

“Ah yes. This was given by the Council themselves”, Master Makarov showed them some files.

“Don’t tell me they’re destruction notices”, Gray said guiltily. The only thing the council were sending them are complains about the destruction they’re bringing the town.

“Apparently, there’s a bigger problem than that. I have a mission for all of you. I can assign the Raijinshu but it seems that the Council wants you all to do this instead of them as punishment for your actions. The Council is willing to overlook all the damages you did in the town for the last few weeks if you do this mission. How about it? Do you accept this task?”, Master Makarov eyed them seriously. Laxus didn’t spare them a glance and just continued what he’s doing but it is counted that he’s actually worried for them.

“The Council is requesting us to do a mission?”, Natsu was surprised. The Council rarely asks a guild for something and to ask Fairy Tail which gives them problems almost all the time is really surprising.

“Believe it or not, they just did. Here’s the request to prove it”, Master Makarov showed the letter to them.

“This is really surprising”, Lucy said. “What kind of job is it?”, she asked, scanning the paper.

“So will you do it?”, Master Makarov asked them again.

“If the Master wants us to do it then we’ll accept it”, Erza said.

“I’m not telling you to do so. I’m asking you if you wanted to do it yourself”, Master Makarov said.

“If that will benefit the guild then of course we’ll do it!”, Natsu said.

“Yeah, let us do it Master, we have to do something as compensation for all the troubles we’ve caused”, Lucy said.

“Aye!”, Happy agreed.

“I guess I’ll join in as well”, Gray said.

“Wait a minute, what does the mission requires us to do?”, Erza asked.

“Now that you said it…”, Lucy mumbled.

“It is to retrieve a pocket watch”, Master Makarov said.

“A pocket watch?”, Erza repeated.

“Yes, it was owned by a powerful wizard before. The rumors said that it can turn back time which is actually dangerous for it can create ripples to our time. According to the last report, it is capable of activating one last time so the Council wants to have it supervised just in case. All you have to do is take it, secure it and surrender it to the Council. Erza will be in charge of the mission”, Master Makarov explained.

“We will leave at once”, Erza bowed at him.

“Go to the Council this afternoon, someone from the inside will give you the information you needed. Do it well”, Master Makarov dismissed them.

“So we just have to take a watch?”, Natsu asked, his arms at the back of his neck while walking.

“I guess so. The Council handed us this for the mission”, Lucy showed them a bag filled with the mission requirements, a map, information about the item they have to retrieve and a box that suppresses magic to hold the watch.

“So where do we go?”, Gray asked.

“If I’m not mistaken, we have to take the train to the city of Haprute”, Erza said, holding the map as guide.

“Train?!”, Natsu sounded ill shivering at the thought.

“Now, now Natsu, I’m sure you’ll manage somehow”, Lucy comforted him.

“I think the council really hates me!”, Natsu screamed in anger.

“We don’t exactly have a choice do we? We accepted it after all”, Gray said.

“You’re enjoying this aren’t you?”, Natsu glared at Gray.

“Shut up”, Gray shrugged him off.

“Why that little!”, Natsu was definitely not happy with how the things are going.

“Stop it Natsu! We have to finish this mission as soon as we can so if we have to travel using all the transportation we need, then deal with it understand!”, Erza commanded. Natsu straightened in fear with just the sound of her voice.

“Y-y-yes Ma’am!”, Natsu saluted. Lucy sweat dropped. A part of her actually pitied him. She looked at the papers holding information about the watch. Her face was full of worry just by what she was seeing.

“A watch that can create ripples through time? Why is it that I have a very bad feeling about this mission”, Lucy thought as she continued to walk. “I sure hope nothing bad will happen”

“Hey Lucy?”, Natsu initiated the conversation. They were walking towards the station.

“What is it Natsu?”, Lucy questioned him.

“Well, I’ve been having a weird dream lately”, Natsu awkwardly confessed.

“Hm? Weird? What do you mean?”, Lucy asked.

“You see, I’ve been seeing this place in my dream. It’s green and the sky is so blue. I saw this girl and…well….”

“So you’re saying that you met your soul mate in that dream? Did you date in your dream as well?”, Lucy accused teasingly with a nudge on his side.

“NO! Hear me first alright? So there’s this girl I always see, she runs every time before I can even have a proper conversation and that’s when the dream ends. Soul mate, she looks younger than Wendy! Besides, I think I know her”

“Oh really? Well, tough luck Natsu, dreams can be some sort of premonitions. Some dreams are glimpses of the past and the future. They say it’s a memory dream if it shows something or someone from the past and prophetic dream if it portrays something that hasn’t happened yet”

“Really? Do you think she’s from the past that I forgot?”, Natsu asked.

“Maybe. Since you said you think you know her”, Lucy said with a smile. She smacked Natsu’s back a little. “Come on, it’s just a dream Natsu. Don’t get so worked up over things like that. We still have a mission so let’s focus”, Lucy encouraged.

“You’re right”, Natsu grinned. “It doesn’t matter. What’s important is the present right?”

“A girl from his past? So there’s another one like Lisanna?”, Lucy thought as she walks together with a grinning Natsu.
