“Mother! Mother, don’t go! MOTHER!!!!!!”

“Mo…ther”, Elizabeth’s tears rushed down her cheeks. Her closed eyes dilated and she saw the same familiar ceiling.

“Elizabeth….sama?”, Reina’s voice caught her attention. Her worried face flashed back at her.

“Reina?”

“Did you have the same dream again?’

“Yes. I can’t figure out why, but somehow, it looks like there’s something about my dream that I can’t figure out yet”, Elizabeth wiped the tears off her face.

“Milady, there’s something I haven’t told you yet”

“What is it?”

“Milord Maru, is here”, with that declaration, Elizabeth’s eyes widened.

“Prepare my things. I have to see Father right away”. Elizabeth stood up and head towards her bathroom.

“Yes, Milady”

“Just a little more. I need more time”

“Elizabeth!”, Master Maru hugged her beloved daughter. Elizabeth hugged him back though she isn’t as enthusiastic to see him as the latter does. “Why the long face my dear?”

“Father, for what reason did you come here?”

“Reason? You already announced who you are going to marry. Is it too wrong for a Father to see his daughter’s future husband? I still don’t approve of him. I’ve never even met him”

“You didn’t? Didn’t you already visited Fairy Tail last night?”, Elizabeth asked.

“Well yes I did, but I never saw him there. He must be away at the moment”

“Or maybe you didn’t come there to check on him at all. I bet you came there for a different reason”, Elizabeth mumbled softly.

“What do you mean?”

“You know exactly what I mean Father! Don’t try to hide it. You came there for Lucy-chan didn’t you?!”

“Well that’s……”, Master Maru sighed in defeat. “Yes, I came there for her. You knew she was alive from the start didn’t you Elizabeth? That’s why you insisted to ask a wizard for a husband! You asked it so you could come here and check if she’s really still alive! That’s the exact reason why you wanted me to allow you here in Magnolia where most of the wizards reside! Why do you always do something out on your own will! You know full well how indebted we are to her yet you do such childish things to her!”

“Yes, that’s true! I knew she was still alive! I knew that she’s in Magnolia but the reason why I wanted a wizard for a husband doesn’t concern her at all! I hate her! I hated her from the day she was born!”

“Is it because she left you when you needed her most? Elizabeth, don’t be like that! She lost her mother too! And her father died not too long ago! Of all the people, you should know how she feels!”

“She didn’t know how I felt too! I will never forget it! She was able to be happy all this time even when everything she had before was taken from her! Why can’t I be like that! I hate her! She can’t be happy if I can’t! I won’t forgive her! I will definitely make her life miserable! I will….”, Elizabeth stopped when she felt something painful on her cheek. Her own father…..slapped her across the face.

“As long as I can control and stop myself, I never wanted to do that. This beyond what I thought you would be! Stop being so childish Elizabeth! Don’t involve anyone with your selfishness! Your mother never wanted to see you like that! I never raised you to be such a woman!”, Master Maru can’t hold his temper any longer. His hands were in fists and his eyes were full of worry and anger towards her. Elizabeth looked at him with such pain, disbelief, hatred and anger.

“You’re right. You never raised me at all! I was raised by the maids and Reina was the only one who helped me ever since! You will never understand how I feel!”, Elizabeth shouted with tears in her eyes as she ran outside the room with tears streaming down her face. Reina looked at him with disbelief and worry.

“Reina, please go after her”, Master Maru closed his eyes with guilt. Reina glanced at him before she run after Elizabeth. “Reliza….what have I done?”, Master Maru looked at his own hand which he used to hurt Elizabeth. He regretted what he did even if he knows it was the right thing to do.

The day of the festival…..has come….

“Welcome to the annual Harvest Festival of Magnolia! As you all know, the Harvest Festival is celebrated to have a wonderful Cherry Blossoms viewing which is known worldwide! Its petals flutter about during the day and it’s unique rainbow colored flower petals emanates beautifully under the night sky!”, the announcer said.

“So, before we start, to judge our events, we have the Mayor and as for our commentators, we asked Doranbolt from the Rune Knights and Jason, the camera man and interviewer for the Weekly Sorcerer!”

“I am very pleased to be a part of this”, Doranbolt said.

“Cool! Everything is so cool!”, Jason hyped up.

“Today we are not just going to enjoy seeing this Cherry Blossom trees, we’re here to witness a challenge for different guilds however, this time, we are going to do this differently. Lady Elizabeth Callimar has announced her rumoured marriage with a wizard named Natsu Dragneel of Fairy Tail and guess what?! She’s going to participate in the event as well! Each guild has to give a representative for the event. Here’s the list of the parti….”

“Hold it!”, Elizabeth took the microphone out of the announcer’s hands. Doranbolt and the other judges looked at her with surprise. “No other guild will be participating besides Lucy-chan and I”

“WHAT!!!”, the audiences made an uproar at what she just said.

“You heard me. Lucy-chan challenged me on this event. However, her conditions were not to ask anything about the challenges until the actual day itself and I may use any magical items I can use. I heeded her request but now, I want her to heed mine as all of you will!”, Elizabeth said in a demanding tone.

“Well, what will that be?”, the Mayor stood beside her.

“Only Lucy-chan and I will battle out on this mysterious event. I don’t care what the prize will be but we agreed that whoever wins will have Natsu-sama all to herself!”

“WHAT! What am I, some sort of prize?!”, Natsu shouted out with annoyance from the audience.

“Did Lucy really made that challenge with her?”, Erza mumbled with surprise.

“Looks like Lucy already had the courage to announce her feelings!”, Mirajane giggled, clearly enjoying whatever is happening.

“But Lu-chan isn’t here”, Levy noticed Lucy is missing.

“I accept!”, Lucy suddenly appeared behind all the people from afar. Happy was with her and she is holding another microphone to announce her acceptance. Everyone turned around and saw her.

“Good. I actually thought that you will back out on this”, Elizabeth smirked.

“You’ve got to be kidding me. If it’s about the guild and my family, I will definitely not back out on anything”, Lucy replied. “Happy, take me there”

“Aye!”, Happy took Lucy on air and landed safely in front of Elizabeth. Their eyes made a battle of glares.

“So….umm….well…I guess we will be concluding this young girls’ challenges. Is everyone alright with that?”, the announcer spoke as the tension goes on.

“Yeah! Fight!”, the perpetrators cheered.

“Two girls having a cat fight through the challenges? Get on with it!”, the others said.

“Oh boy, this has become an official fight”, Lyon and Jura said.

“Hmm, that blondie is really interesting. No wonder Salamander took her in his team”, Sting grinned at the sight Lucy was making at the stage.

“Sting, don’t tell me…”, Rogue looked at him with suspicion.

“I may gain an interest to her”, Sting grinned.

“You have such an eye for Celestial Wizards”, Rufus commented.

“Aren’t Natsu-san the same?”, Sting replied.

“Are you ready Lucy-chan?”, Elizabeth mumbled as she glares at her.

“Bring it on! Let’s finish this”, Lucy said.

“So! We will commence the challenge! Lucy Heartfilia versus Elizabeth Marjollete Callimar! Who will win between the two? Make your bets everyone!”, said the announcer.

“Elizabeth!”, said some of the people.

“Lucy!”, said the Fairy Tail members as well as some of who knows her.

“Even with the cheers, Lucy still beats me…”, Elizabeth noticed. “No worries”

As they were cheering, Reina and some of her escorts appeared around Natsu. They created a cage which trapped Natsu inside. The cage was made of metal and it lifted him up in the air.

“What the! Argwphhf”, Natsu already felt his sickness coming in.

“NATSU!”, the guild members shouted. All of them stared in awe and shock filled all of them.

“What are you doing Elizabeth!”, Lucy scowled at her. “We didn’t agree to this!”, Lucy angrily said.

“I…I didn’t do it”, Elizabeth was shocked as well. Clearly it wasn’t her idea. “Reina what are you doing? I never ordered anything like….”

“I ordered it”, Master Maru suddenly appeared within the crowd.

“Father?”, Elizabeth looked at him with disbelief.

“That boy is the reason for everything happening in here. Until the challenge both of you agreed on is complete, he will stay up in there”, Master Maru said. “I never thought I would see you all grown up like this. You look exactly like your mother. It’s good to see you’re alive, Lucy”

“Uncle….Maru”, Lucy gasped in surprise.
