“STOP!!!!”, Elizabeth shouted. The carriage halted to a stop so suddenly that Lucy and Natsu bumped their heads on the window behind them.

“Why did we stop so suddenly?!”, Lucy groaned, rubbing the part of her head that got hurt by the collision.

“I want a detour from that town over there. I want to buy something”, she said.

“EH!!!”, Natsu and Lucy sighed. They followed Elizabeth and her numerous minions all over the town and the next town after that. The next town after the last one was explored as well. All the while, Elizabeth was hogging Natsu all over which made both Natsu and Lucy uncomfortable. On Natsu’s part, he can’t stand girls clinging on to him like leech. On Lucy’s part, she can’t determine the reason why but her chest was tight all the time she was seeing them leaving the now conscious Happy suffer.

“Arghh. What does that girl doing! I can’t take this anymore”, Lucy was choking Happy with her hugging him too tightly than normal.

“Lucy don’t kill me”, Happy groaned in defeat.

“WAAHHHH!!! Stop it already!”, Natsu snapped as he struggles free from her grasp.

“EH? Why?!”, Elizabeth pouted.

“We’ve been going and stopping for all the towns we reach! Our deal was just to escort you back not accompany your expeditions. Our three hours travelling time back to Magnolia has become six hours already”, he groaned. “Woman, don’t you get tired at all?”

“Nope! Unless we return to Magnolia which is still an hour away from here, you’ll have to be with me!”, Elizabeth cried out.

“This girl….”, Lucy was holding back her temper but she will explode any minute from now. Happy was patting her to ease her anger.

“Milady, please refrain yourself from throwing a tantrum. We can’t risk your image getting ruined to the people here”, Reina patted her shoulder lightly with a bow.

“Eh? Oh”, Elizabeth behaved and smoothed her skirt in a gentle manner.

“What just happened?”, Natsu whispered to Lucy.

“Don’t ask me”, Lucy was really holding back her own temper.

“Well then, why don’t we go back? We still have some towns to stop by”, Elizabeth announced.

“WHAT!!!!”, Lucy and Natsu both blurted out.

“Oh and by the way, we’re staying at a hotel on our next destination”, Elizabeth kept a menacing grin.

“THAT’S IT!”, Lucy snapped. “Elizabeth! Stop being childish already!”

“Childish? What’s wrong with enjoying myself with Natsu-sama?”, Elizabeth pouted.

“YOU….”, Lucy was gritting her teeth. Even if she don’t understand what she feels, it’s clear that she doesn’t like the way she was clinging to Natsu. “I QUIT THIS JOB ALREADY! I’M DONE”, she shouted then stomped her away from them. Natsu shrugged his shoulders to shove Elizabeth’s hand off. Happy looked at Lucy with worry.

“Lucy wait!”, Natsu held her hand. “We can’t...”

Lucy instantly looked at him; well, looked is not really the right word but glared at him. Lucy literally glared at him and then mouthed: “BACK OFF” with intent to kill anyone who stops her. Natsu felt shivers down his spine which doesn’t occur so often unless Erza’s the one who glares at him. Lucy is in a different league of annoyance and she needs some anger management for sure.

“S-S-Scary Lucy”, he slumped to the ground. “She’s even scarier than Lucy in Edolas! And she didn’t even break my bones yet”

“Natsu-sama, let’s just leave Lucy-chan and continue”, Elizabeth said.

“I’ll talk to her”, Natsu stood. “Let’s go Happy”, he said as he left the two women.

Natsu and Happy found her stomping all the way to the stalls of the town.

“Wa-wait Lucy. We can’t quit now”, Natsu tried to calm her down as he followed her through the town.

“No way am I staying with her”, she crossed her arms on her chest. Happy was flying beside her. “What are you doing here anyway?! Why don’t you just go back to Elizabeth for all I care?!”

“Natsu, she’s getting jealous”, Happy whispered.

“Lucy, come on. We’ll just have to deal with it. After we reach Magnolia, it’s over”, Natsu reasoned out.

“Why are you insisting on this Natsu? Can’t you see what she’s doing? She’s holding us off long enough! You knew that Elizabeth and I are in bad terms and this isn’t going too well so far”, she explained.

“Well it’s not like I liked it either”, Natsu scratched his head. “But as Fairy Tail wizards, if we quit a job suddenly it will ruin our reputation”, Natsu said.

“Yeah right. If you forgot, you’re engaged to that woman and you’re not worried about it at all?”, Lucy thought as she sighed at her stupid companion. “I’ll try to behave as long as I can”

“Great! Don’t worry Lucy, Happy and I’m here with you”, Natsu grinned at her and held her arms as he drag her back. She smiled at the sight she was seeing with her two best partners.

“You know what? If that woman wasn’t engaged to you I wouldn’t be this mad”, she blurted out faintly. Unknown to her, Natsu heard what she said; he smiled with his face facing front so Lucy wasn’t able to see it. All she can feel is the pressure from his hands holding her as a sign of comfort. Happy just smiled all the way back.

“I wonder why Natsu’s team hasn’t returned yet”, Mirajane worriedly asked while wiping plates on the counter.

“Why? Aren’t they on a job for seven days?”, Lisanna asked.

“It was cancelled. I’m sure they would be on their way home and they should be here an hour ago”, Mirajane said.

“Maybe they had a detour somewhere”, Wendy said.

“Or maybe those two are having a good time together. The night is steamy after all”, Cana said with a slight of seduction. “You think those two are doing mature things tonight?”

“Don’t tell me that they’re…”, Lisanna felt her cheeks blushing.

“Cana! You can’t tell that with Wendy here!”, Mirajane scolded while holding Wendy’s ears.

“No way. Natsu? I could imagine Gray or the other guys doing it but it’s impossible for Natsu. That guy is far too dense for his own good”, Erza said.

“Hey we can hear you!”, the guys shouted out to them.

“Still, where are those two?”, Levy said.

“They’re on another mission”, Master Makarov entered the scene with a paper in his hand.

“What is it Master?”, Erza apprehended.

“This was sent by one of Lady Elizabeth’s escorts. It seems they are doing some bodyguard work for her”, he said.

“What? How is it possible?”, Levy asked.

“She followed them on their job this morning. That girl has many tricks up her sleeves”, Master Makarov said seriously.

“Tricks? You don’t mean…”, Mirajane gasped.

“She did something to cancel out the job and make them work for her instead”, Erza declared judging from the Master’s expression.

“You’re right”, Master Makarov said.

“That woman can do everything just like she said huh?”, Cana replied after taking a gulp from her barrel of booze.

“It seems that woman is more dangerous than she looks”, Lisanna said.

“Well then I guess this ends our journey together. Too bad though”, Elizabeth smiled too cheerfully at them. She saw them off from her carriage after they arrived in Magnolia.

“I’m just glad it’s over already”, Lucy groaned. Natsu was grinning beside her.

“Even if I slept most of the time, I feel tired”, Happy groaned too.

“It’s good you slept all the way back. I wish I did it too”, she said.

“Come on Lucy, we did a job well done and we got our pay”, Natsu was smiling all the way.

“Well I guess so”, Lucy said.

“Hey, how do we split them?”, Happy asked.

“Why don’t we just give it all to Lucy? That way our training ground and resting place will be safe for keeping”, Natsu slapped his hands with Happy.

“Thank you so much. I really appreciate your sympathies with my dwelling place”, she said with utter annoyance. She was glad for their compassion for paying her rent but somehow the idea of them always barging in uninvited was getting out of control.

“I guess I’ll just have to get used to it already”, she thought in defeat. “But, take just at least 45 percent from it for food and travelling money”, Lucy insisted, Natsu can’t help but surrender at her request.

“Lucy…you know that girl from before right?”, Natsu asked when they were walking.

“Eh? Yes, actually we hardly met but I can say we’re really close before. We used to play whenever she comes to our house”, Lucy tried to remember.

“So she’s been like that ever since?”, Happy asked.

“Hmm, she’s…let’s say she’s really like a spoiled kid. I feel really sad for her though that’s why I’m trying to understand why she’s acting like that. I want her to find contentment and happiness soon though. Looks like she’s still far from knowing the truth…”, Lucy said. Natsu and Happy were more confused.

“What do you mean by that?”, Happy asked.

“Ah, never mind. Why don’t we just leave it as that?”, Lucy averted her eyes.

“Let’s go back to the guild then!”, Natsu announced.

“Lucy, we’ll race you to it! Last one’s a rotten egg!”, Happy flew off with his “Max Speed”.

“Haha Lucy’s going to be rotten”, Natsu laughed as he dashed off leaving Lucy behind.

“No fair! Don’t use magic! Geez!”, Lucy groaned but laughed it off.

“Reina. What do you think?”, Elizabeth moaned as she looks out the window of her home.

“With what, milady?”, Reina asked.

“I couldn’t get his attention at all. That Salamander is really challenging my magnificence and patience. Why can’t I steal away something she cherishes while she can without even trying?”, she sighed. Reina stayed silent for she can’t find an answer for her. “Never mind, I swear I’ll make her cry and kneel before me. I will make her beg on her knees”, she said with fury in her eyes. Reina looked worried for her from a distance.
