January - After

It's funny how life changes,
from one moment to another.

It's funny how on one day,
you're sure they'll be by your side.
But the next day you lie crying,
Because they just couldn't stay the same.

It's amazing how some people,
were supposed to stay forever.
But forever's only temporary;
it only lasts until the end.

Promises are broken.
Rules are meant to bend
I thought we were best friends;
what about "until the end"?

We'd made so many plans,
So many things we wished to see.
But I guess some things never change,
and I'm still the one you push away.

I still think it's something strange,
how years don't change a thing.
Thought I finally meant something,
Guess once more I was wrong.
Love is only temporary,
forever: it was wrong.

And yet the thing about forever,
is how some people had left.
Thought I'd see them until never,
but for some reason they came back.
