Pretty Words
May - After
You tell me you want me,
Just to throw me out the door.
You send me pretty words;
Let my mind begin a war.
The interest I thought you had,
Is dissapearing in a tad.
I guess I'm getting too involved;
A good idea, not at all.
"Feelings are for suckers,"
I say to the mirror.
"Love is an ilusion,
That kills us with delusion,"
The light you give is blinding;
It was, at least, I thought.
But only when we're lonely,
Does the darkness become aught.
Your friends, they surround us.
Your humor changes fast,
No time to discuss.
But when no one is around,
Your mind, for me, becomes my crown.
You smile when we speak;
Your eyes sparkle when I squeak.
And the day my cheek you had to kiss,
A smile escaped your wonderful lips.
Oh sweetie,
You don't fool me.
I know you better,
Than a flower a bee.
I guess you are scared.
You've said it yourself.
But is it really that scary,
To not hide in a shelf?
