Plot Summary:  hmm well i was thinking something like Ran is an assassin that infiltrated the games to assassinate the king (King Porkius VII) and the reader is someone close to the king, so ran tries to get close to them to get close to the king, but ends up falling for them accidentally and is conflicted about what to do.

Small Info: The Reader would be the king's younger sibling who is a few months younger than Ran who is 17 and the Reader is 16! Also instead of Jackie winning it would be Ran who would take John's place in fighting against Jackie!

Ran's point Of View~

I stood outside my boss' office by leaning against the wall. In case you all don't know who I am, my name is Ran and I am basically an assassin. How did I even get into this mess? Well I ran away from home after my parents were killed and I was the only one who survived.

I mostly just lived on the street and wondered about stealing and whatnot so I could live and that was until HE found me. By 'he' I mean my boss. When I was young he basically took me in and taught me how to kill people.

I started to do this at a very young age without ever getting caught. From poisoning food from stabbing. It all started out small then it became big. I was young and stupid to ever believe that I could get a normal life by staying here and killing and getting away with all this but no I hate doing this but here I am, a teenager, stuck here doing all of my Boss' dirty work.

After a few minutes I was called. I slowly entered the office standing at the desk. The minute he saw me he smiled but not those genuine ones. The ones which you wish to never see when one is planning a murder.

"You wanted to see me...?" I say in my normal monotone voice.

He chuckled at my words which honestly I wasn't in the mood to be in the same room as him. I just wanted to leave and just not come here anymore.

"Now now Ran. You don't have to use that tone on me. But I do have a job for you." He said as he got up and went towards the drawers to look for something.

"Let me guess. I have to kill someone who happens to be against you and all?" I said slightly irritated.

"Well no not this time. It's much more bigger than that." He said as he came back with a file in front of me.

He took out what seemed to be a photo of a person who was a human-piglin hybrid and I guessed that it was King Porkius VII. He was well known to everyone who was the Emperor of the Subbin Empire.

"You see this man?" he asked as I nodded slowly.

"Am I supposed to steal something from him or...?" I asked trailing off hoping he was going to say what I think he was.

He chuckled at my answer as he looked out the window for a bit as I stood in my spot waiting for an answer.

"Well no of course." he started as he came back to the desk.

"You know how he is holding an event for a gladiator battle to find a General? Of course you know cause everyone has heard it. I want you to join the event to infiltrate and win it to become General and also-" He paused as he took out a another photo to show a girl who had H/L H/C hair with E/C eyes who looked about the same age as me and was more human but looked similar to the King.

"-I want you to get close to Y/N, so you will somehow be able to kill her brother, the King off while you can and come back to me. Also you don't need to kill the girl." I heard him finish which made my eyes widen.

This time, I had to kill a KING?! God I hate this so so much right now.

"What will happen if I don't do what you say...?" I said which he seemed to get the idea that I didn't want to do it at all.

He smirked as he came close to me.

"Well..." he started and before I could step back he grabbed me by the neck and pushed me against the wall with a huge thud and feel my head throb.

He was grabbing onto my neck too tightly and i could barely breathe.

"If you don't do as I say, I will kill you along with the king and not only him but his sister as well myself." He said still grasping onto my neck tightly as I tried to get out of his grasp.

"You will do as I say. Got it?" He said.

I knew I had no choice so I nodded. He let go off me as I fell to the floor on my knees as put my hand on neck gasping for air. God that hurt. I was trying to get used to all this but I didn't like them at all.

"Good. Now quickly sign up for this event so you can get in. The event is in two days and there is only two more spots left for this. Now go and get out of my sight." He said I slowly got up and left.

"I hate this so much..." I muttered under my breath. 

I didn't have anything else to do other than prepare for this bull and quickly sign up for this. I took a deep breath. It's just going to be me somehow winning the games, being a 'general' and would be getting a few days or a month to kill the Emperor off without anyone's knowledge and that's it. But I would have to carry this burden with me like I usually do.

Timeskip to Two days~

Today was the day! The day of the Gladiator battle which I basically entered into just to infiltrate it, win the games and become general, come close to the King's sister only to kill her brother off. Today was really not my day like at all.

I wore a Victorian shirt with a maroon coat over it, grey and black pants, and black shoes. I also had gold specks on my left sleeves with a green enderpearl designed eye like thing on my left upper arm near the shoulder.

I was taken down to the cellars which I had to be in like every other participants. After the guard left me down here I looked around to see the others.

I saw a boy who looked like my age with blondish-orange hair and blue eyes looking around at the others. I then saw two people sitting on the table to my left. One was a girl with short blonde hair and a small braid at the back with dark blue eyes and was wearing purple goggles and another boy with dark brown hair with a monocle like thing covering his right eye.

I looked at the other table were a lone boy sat. He had sunflower yellow hair, blue eyes, a blue-yellow monocle and a black hat. Then there was a another guy who was looking around very confused which was in my defense looked very weird. He had reddish blonde hair and red-tinted goggles with golden rims sitting upon his hair.

Then I looked at a cell door to see a man that looked pretty much drunk and all. He had medium-length black hair, sand-colored skin, and violet eyes. Then I saw another man standing in place leaning against a wall. He had black hair with black eyebrows and purple eyes and wore black finger less gloves.

Lastly it was a man who looked older than everyone and I saw him doing bow practice in a room. He had grey-eyes with off-white yellow hair and wore black goggles and had a metallic ring around his right leg. So technically this place consisted of two teenagers (one being me), six middle aged people and one grown up.

I could easily beat these people but not sure about the archer guy. He looks tough. I did notice the odd number of people here and even if there was another person it would still be an odd number in the second round. I didn't really think of it much.

I didn't bother learning anyone's names and just stood in a place alone as I waited. Though the blondish-orange haired boy came up to me and said I had nice eyes which I nodded to. He introduced himself to be Jackie and I also said my name to him. He did leave afterwards which was good but he was a nice kid.

After many boring minutes, I heard footsteps coming from the stairs. It revealed to show the King himself King Porkius VII and two other people. One was a guy who had colorful clothes one and was holding the camera who I presumed was the camera man and the other was a female who I had seen in the photo. It was Y/N.

Y/N's Point Of View~

Like every other day this event happens, there goes my brother with his constant whatever he does. My brother is the Emperor of the Subbin Empire whose name is Porkius VII. Right now we were outside the newly built stadium in town looking for a cameraman.

I sighed as I looked around until my eyes landed on a boy with colorful clothing with purple tinted goggles and was holding a camera. My brother seemed to notice and went up to him asking if he was a cameraman and whatnot and he hired the man on the spot.

"What's your name?" My brother asked him.

"It's Karl." The man said.

"Didn't ask!" My brother said as he ran off.

"Don't mind my brother. He's just like that." I said as Karl nodded and followed me and my brother.

As we entered the podium where both our thrones were my brother started to explain everything and stuff about the gladiator battles with the one winning will be the General and whatnot and other yadi yada yada!

After all that explanation we had to walk all the way over to the staircase which led to the cellars as he rambled on and stuff. Karl also went on about saying how the stairs went on and stuff and something about video games and whatnot.

After what seemed like forever we were finally at the cellars as my brother yelled around who were going to be the first two to fight in the first battle. He then went over a boy with blondish-orange hair who was looking at a girl in the cellars.

My brother was poking him a few times but he didn't respond after a few minutes but he eventually did and said that he was lost in the girl's gaze which I found a bit slightly funny and my brother didn't seem to like him but chose him for the first battle of Round One.

He then went over to another person with reddish blonde hair which I am gonna say that he looked really confused and was just walking around and was pretty weird. But my brother chose him to fight with Jackie. This guy was named Laggius Maximus if I am correct.

My brother took Jackie to the other side where we came from as Karl took Laggius to the other side. Then I noticed someone looking at me. I looked at them to see they were an enderman with green eyes but he was more human. I gave him a small wave as he noticed and slightly jumped and looked away. I let out a small giggle and went towards my brother as Karl followed me.

The games went on by real fast. I wasn't paying much attention since my mind would sometimes go back to the enderman that was standing and was looking at me for a bit. He looked very intriguing to be honest.

At this point what I do know is that Jackie won against Laggius, Bartholomew won against Watson which was kind of sad cause I was rooting for Watson but eh hopefully I know for a fact Bartholomew won't be General and then we have Genevieve who won against Levi.

We of course jumped down from the podium down to the arena after the players both winner and injured were gone and went through the stone portal which led to the staircase. My brother then started to speak to Karl about how it would be awkward if there was an uneven number of players.

As we came down to the cellars I looked to the side to see Ran facing the wall and slightly moving about. As we were looking around, my brother legitimately realized that there was an uneven number of gladiators and decided to make someone already go to the second round without fighting.

My brother then went to this John guy who they literally renamed Handsome then Ugly which kind of sucked cause they seriously had to make fun of him. Of course Karl wasn't doing much but it was your brother. You gave him a sympathetic look and of course he was chosen for the third battle.

My brother then decided to go to the enderman to make him go to the second round without any fighting. He was still in the same position looking at wood blocks and not noticing that we were coming until my brother went closer to him.

"You there, what's your name?" he said slightly poking him in the arm which made him jump a bit in surprise as he looked at the King with his emerald green eyes.

I could see his features more closely since I was near him. He had striking emerald green eyes with a few green streaks on his face. He also had very dark messy black hair up to his neck and had small bangs which were slightly covering his eyes. He had long pointed ears on both sides and horns pointing out of his head. He honestly looked good. I slightly blushed at what I just thought but I quickly calmed myself.

"Hmm?" I heard him hum in response.

"What is your name?" my brother repeated once again poking him which made him slightly walk back.

"Uh my name's Ran." He simply said.

I smiled at this. It was a nice name. Karl then came up to him and looked at him for a few seconds before speaking.

"It's much cooler than-" he was saying until my brother started to speak.

"That's such a cool name, congratulations you just, you just got the First Round by!" he said simply and just continuing to poke him which I could tell was honestly annoying him.

"You just got to the Second Round with no work at all!" he said then Karl chimed in after whooping and clapping.

"Your just like the patriot." Karl said.

At this point I could just facepalm at them as I heard my brother Congratulate him again as he finally stopped poking the poor man. To be honest he looked about the same age as you or maybe a year older.

"He did it!" Karl said.

"Interesting interesting..." I heard Ran say.

Then I saw Karl introducing himself to Ran. Ran simply just said 'Hi Karl' and Karl simply turned around and said 'okay' and ran off with my brother but I could make out something that Karl said something about Ran creeping him off which my brother agreed. I rolled my eyes as I turned to look at Ran who was just standing in a corner.

"Sorry about them. I didn't really expect this from them." I said apologizing as ran looked at me and shook his head.

"It's fine really. Sure it was a bit annoying and uncomfortable but it's fine really." He said simply with a small smile.

"My name is Y/N. I am the King's brother in case you didn't know. Nice to meet you Ran." I said extending a hand to him which shook.

"Nice to meet you as well Y/N." he said.

"Anyways I gotta go so I will see you later." I said as I went off.

"Likewise." he said.

I went back to see that they already picked another person to fight with John and no way in Hell am I calling John Ugly like at all cause that's just mean. This other guy's name I heard is Edward if I am correct. I didn't really care at this point.

Though this whole round was just a new level of chaos with my brother literally attacking John by firing arrows whenever he can and I honestly just gave up on doing anything. But lastly John won anyways and I was somehow able to stop my brother from firing any arrows at him.

Right now it was time for Round Two.

Third Person Point Of View~

They all went down the staircase again as Karl and Porkius talked about how they were gonna interview all the people and whoever lost they would put their sob stories and whatever. Y/N was quietly listening.

As they went down they called all the winners to come to the table where Watson was sitting and was removing all the books saying that he will move away. Y/N felt pity for the old man since he looked like he could make a good General.

After al the winners including Ran were gathered at the table, they all sat down except Ran who just stood next to the wall as he leaned on it. After everyone was settled Karl started to ask the first two people who was Jackie and Bartholomew about their life stories.

After they were done with everyone who sat at the table, they went over to Ran who was looking at Karl who came up to him for interviewing. Karl yet again introduced himself saying he is the cameraman and whatnot as Ran hummed in response.

"... I just walked away because I thought you were cool." Karl said then Porkius chimed in.

"Yeah yeah I don't even know anything about this guy." He said as Ran looked at the king.

"Is he not supposed to be here?" Karl whispered which of course Y/N and Ran both heard since it wasn't so quiet.

"N-No no he's just vibin-" he said then slightly interrupted them both.

"No no you haven't seen me before." he said as he let out an audible sigh as Karl nodded with an okay.

Karl then went on telling Porkius how Ran would be the type of guy he would be scared to ask to go to prom which Porkius agreed which honestly is something Y/N seriously did not find that funny. She just felt like telling them to zip up their mouths and just move on.

Then they looked at Ran again and started to ask him questions by bringing his attention to them.

"Um... where you from?" Karl asked as there was a small moment of silence.

"Hmm... Complicated. But... eh! Don't want to get into my history now do we?" Ran said with a small smile which many people couldn't read.

To be honest this kind of intrigued Y/N a bit considering he seems to be pretty closed off and the fact that his background is complicated and this kind of made the princess curious. To her Ran seemed like a nice person but just not someone who would talk that much or go into detail.

Karl agreed with Porkius that they thought it was best not to go into detail about his history as he looked around at the table as Porkius was still going on about agreeing with Karl. Karl then looked at Ran before speaking.

"Uh so you came here to be the General tho you know this is for being a General?" Karl asked as ran started to shrug.

"Yeah yeah... I could-" He again let out a huge sigh before continuing. "-care less about being the General honestly but..." 

"How confident are you for your victory here?" Porkius asked him as Ran looked at him with a small glint in his eyes.

"I mean... even if I won even if I lose either way I mean-" he let out a another huge sigh and continued. "I mean this place is still going going down."

This kind of made everyone turn their attention to him especially Y/N's. At this point they were slightly curious about Ran knowing how he hasn't really interacted with anyone other than Jackie who just came to compliment him and give him small talk and nothing more.

"C-Could Could you clarify?" Porkius asked slightly taken aback by his words.

"Nope." Ran responded as he shook his head with a smirk.

"Alright well he got by in the First Round so I think you should be in the three person fight." Porkius said as Karl agreed.

Then Bartholomew like literally interrupted Porkius which kind of made him mad and Y/N was about to say something but already made up his mind about putting him in the three person fight with Ran. Jackie was asking if he could join in but was ignored and chose John to be in it.

"So it's Grievous (John), Ran and Bartholomew in the three person fight and then Genevieve versus Jackie." Karl said Jackie was simply excited as he somehow got stuck in a hole which they helped him out later.

Then everyone went over to what they say the 'Loser's Table' as Jackie was asking if he could sit with them but Karl and Porkius said that they can't right now cause he has to fight with Genevieve and everything and then went over leaving Y/N standing there with the other people saying he doesn't want to be with them right now cause it was getting weird. 

As they went Bartholomew literally said, "How do I sit? How do legs work?" which kind of made Y/N stifle her laugh which Bartholomew noticed but Watson being the dad figure he is hit him in the head to shut him up.

Y/N then looked at ran was again not sitting and just being one with the wall as usual. She again felt bad about Karl and Porkius kind of being rude to him so she went over to apologize on behalf of them.

Ran's Point of View~

I was just with everyone else when I noticed Y/N coming up to me again. Though I think I am slowly starting to get close to her but at the same time I didn't want to do this but I had to because I had no other choice.

"I am sorry about those two again." She said as I shook my head.

"It's fine really. I am used to it since I am pretty kept to myself and all." I responded.

"Also what did you mean by this place going down?" She asked which made look down for a bit before looking up at her.

"It's nothing really serious so don't worry about it Princess." I said and if my eyes didn't deceive me I think I saw her blush a bit.

"Okay then. I should get going cause the games are about to start! Good luck on the Three Person fight Ran!" She said with a smile. 

A cute one at that which made me slightly blush.

"Yeah thanks." I said as I saw her skip off.

I watched her leave and then I noticed someone looking at me only to realize that the other gladiators were looking at me with a smirk which I seriously didn't like at all and made me confused.

"What? Why are you all looking at me like that?" I asked as Jackie started to giggle.

"Looks like the Princess has a thing for you and so do you for her." I heard Genevieve said which made me blush at their words.

"I-I do not." I said trying to cover it up but my flustered face wasn't letting them buy it.

"Come on big man it's really obvious you do! I notice how you look at her." Jackie said as I heard Levi and Edward agree.

"Oh piss off! Also aren't you to supposed to be fighting each other right now?" I asked as they still had their smirks.

"We do but we haven't been called yet." Jackie said and as if in cue they were called and Ran for their places and went up the water.

Watson then got up from the ground and came over to me giving me a pat on the back with a reassuring smile before putting his hand on my shoulder.

"Listen kid it's okay to have feelings for someone. Plus you really don't need to hide it. I mean you are one handsome fellow so who wouldn't want you?" Watson said and before I could reply Bartholomew interrupted me.

"I sure *hic* wouldn't" he said which made Watson angry and hit him on the shoulder.

"Oh shut up!" He said.

"Thanks for your words Watson but I think I am just going to go over there and think about things." I said leaving them as Watson looked over at me and was calling me but I heard Edward stop him saying I might need space.

I will be honest, Bartholomew's words didn't really hit me cause the man is a literal drunkard plus I didn't really care and the only thing on my mind right now is Y/N.

I can't fall in love with her but I don't know why but she just makes me feel slightly happy even if we talked for a  little bit. I can't be falling in love with her. I am supposed to gain her trust after I win this battle and the final one and then become General and after a few days kill the King off.

I can't be falling for her already... right?

I put my hand on my chest feeling my heart beat as I thought about all of this.

I think I am growing feelings for her.

Yeah I would have written the entire story in one chapter but I realized the words count was getting longer!

Yeah i decided to split it into two parts and don't worry it will be coming out soon either tomorrow or the day after! ^^'
