Chapter Two

~Chase's POV~

"What's taking so long?!" Rhys yells out in frustration. I looked up at Helios and saw a moonshot heading to our location. Then, a loud boom and a smoke cloud appears. Out of the cloud comes a Loader Bot.

"Yeah!!" Rhys cheered.

"Hi," Loader Bot said without a care.

"Loader Bot, destroy them!!" Rhys pointed to the bandits and let an evil laugh sip out. They switched their fire to Loader Bot.

"We're still not safe here, Rhys!" Vaughn informed him. Out of nowhere, a bandit jumps behind the car and aims a knife at us.

"Oh, crap," Rhys muttered. I quickly turned into my hologram form and went behind the bandit. He noticed me and tried to stab me. My hands lit up and I quickly shocked him. He screamed in pain and then went limp.

"Woah, what was that?" Rhys asked.

"I applied the same electrical wave as a stun baton and shocked him with it."

"How did you do that without touching the stun baton that Rhys has?" Vaughn asked.

"There's tons of them at Hyperion. They're in every office. I just memorized the electrical code and voila, I have free access to a stun baton in my hands without an actual one." I grinned at the end. Rhys was still looking at me with shock written all over his face.

"You should know. After all, you're the one who built and programmed me, Rhys," I said and put my hands on my hips.

"That was eight years ago! I can barely remember what I ate yesterday," he defended himself. I sighed and watched as Loader Bot was being pushed back.

"We need to get out of here before we're killed!" Vaughn scolded. Rhys and I stopped talking and nodded in agreement. Another bandit came out of nowhere and grabbed Vaughn's briefcase. He threw it into Vasquez's car and was about to drive away with Vaughn hanging out the side. He was handcuffed to the case. I shocked the car and it caught on fire. The bandit ran out of the car screaming and was on fire.

"Thanks, Chase," Vaughn said.

"No problem," I said and smiled at him.

"Hey, isn't that where we need to go?" I pointed to a sign.

"Yes! But....how do we get in the gate?" Rhys asked.

"Well, we have a huge robot that does anything you say, Rhys. Ask him to lift you two up and you can then jump over." With what I said, Rhys commanded Loader Bot to lift them over the gate.

Bandits started jumping all over the robot.

"Why must the universe always punish the good?" Loader Bot spoke and twirled around to shake off the bandits. One flew off and saw me. I was still on the other side of the gate. He started firing at me.

"Come on, Chase!" Rhys yelled. I held up a finger to signify one minute. Rhys tried to climb back over to help me, but ended up falling to the ground. I approached the bandit as he kept shooting. Fear was spreading all over his face as I kept walking forward. He couldn't understand why his bullets were going through me. He was reloading and accidentally dropped the clip.

"Oh, so close." I grin evilly and I shock him like the first bandit. I pass through the fence and stand next to Vaughn. Loader Bot came back and was protecting us from the gunfire again.

"Rhys, Loader Bot can't handle much more," I said as I changed to my physical body.

"Should he evacuate or self-destruct?" Vaughn asked.

"Rhys, hurry!" I shouted at him. I knew he couldn't bring himself to ask Loader Bot to self-destruct.

"Loader Bot, evacuate!" Rhys commanded. Loader Bot turned his attention to us.

Loader Bot gives us a thumbs up and evacuates. Rhys stared at the sky as Loader Bot left.

"I shall name my first born....Loader Bot," Rhys said in a serious tone. Vaughn and I exchanged glances.

"Please, don't," I said.

"Yeah. I probably wouldn't," he said and laughed. I floated ahead of them.

"Don't go too far, Chase," I heard Rhys tell me. I waved it off and found displays of different people. The showcase was called The Pandoran Luminaries. Each one had its own voice track to tell a story about what they did and how they died. I moved down the line and heard every single word.

"So....they're all dead," I said to myself. I walked back down the line and saw the one they called Shade was missing.

"He was just here a minute ago!" I said and searched around. I turned around quickly and was met with the man himself. It scared me to a point where I screamed at the top of my lungs and lost my footing. An enormous pain went through the back of my head and I fell unconscious.

~Rhys' POV~

Vaughn and I heard Chase scream. We ran over to where we heard it. A man we've never seen before was standing over her.

"What happened?!" Vaughn asked frantically. I ran over to Chase and pushed the man away. I saw blood coming from the back of her.

"Oh, this isn't good..." Vaughn joins me after he heard me say that.

"That's a lot of blood. What happened here?" I asked the mysterious man.

"I accidentally scared your beautiful friend here and she slipped. I guess she hit her head on the fall," he said.

"We need to find something to stop the bleeding. If she loses too much blood in her physical form, she'll die," I said.

"Wait, Chase bleeds like a normal person. How?!" Vaughn asked, looking stunned.

"I have my ways. Anyways, find something to help!" I shouted. Vaughn and the man looked around and found nothing.

"Should we leave her here until we finish the deal?" Vaughn asked.

"There's no way I'm leaving her here with him," I said and glared at the man.

"Hey! Old Shade here didn't mean for her to get hurt!" He defended himself.

"Vaughn, help me put Chase on my back." Vaughn gave me a hand. Now Chase was on my back.

"Let's go make this deal quick. We still need to help Chase." We headed to the metal door in the back.

"What about me?" Shade asked.

"You," I said while pointing at him, "stay here and don't interrupt our negotiations." He frowned but he didn't follow us.

"It's about time you got here. Do you have the money?" A man I assumed was August asked.

"It's all right here." Vaughn showed him the brief case.

"Wait, where's Vasquez?" He asked.

"He sent us to collect the vault key," I said smoothly.

"And I see he sent his assistant too," August said and gestured to Chase.

"Assistant?" Vaughn whispered to me. I shrugged my shoulders.

"What happened to her?" He asked.

"She kinda fell and hit her head. She's still bleeding and we have no way of helping her right now." The girl with August heard this and stood up.

"I can fix her up," she said.

"Are you sure Sasha?" August asked her.

"Come on, August. She needs help," Sasha said. She came over and took Chase off my back. She sat her down in the chair and tended to her head wound.

~Chase's POV~

I slowly open my eyes and see a girl I've never met before.

"Hey, take it easy. You've lost a lot of blood," she said and put her hands on my shoulder. The girl told me to stay and I did. She joined the rest of the deal. Then, she suddenly grabbed a case from a man with blonde hair and took a few steps back.

"I don't trust them August," she said with the case behind her back. Rhys went into details of how she could trust us. In the end, her 'feeling' went away.

"I-I don't know Sasha. I've had the same feeling as you Sasha. Let's make the deal at a later date," August said and crossed his arms.

"What?!" I accidentally yelled. Everyone in the room looks at me in shock.

"Sorry....didn't mean to yell," I said and covered my mouth. I stood up and faced August.

"Listen! You have no idea how much we've been through in order to get this key for that asshole up on Helios!" My anger got the better of me. Rhys' and Vaughn's jaws were on the floor. They were the most shocked at my actions. I grabbed my head in pain and sighed. Sasha gave me a hand to support me.

"I-I don't care. No deal," August still said. I heard a little shake in his voice. Sasha gave the case back to August. They were about to leave when Rhys crashed to his knees and started begging.

"Come on, man!" Rhys begged. Sasha looked at August.

"Dude, ten million dollars," she grinned.

"You've got a point," August said. Vaughn opened the case and showed the money. August walked over to the table and opened the case containing the key. Rhys picked it up and was about to scan it when his robotic arm spasmed out and dropped it. The key shattered to pieces.

"It's fake..." Rhys muttered. Everyone was staring at the broken key. Suddenly, we heard a loud noise and two people who looked like bandits crashed through a billboard. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"Great, more trouble."
