The West Country Fantasy prose and poetry comp is now open and ready for your wonderful words!

I'm so excited and honoured to be a part of this fab comp, particularly as the West Country is one of my favourite places to visit in the UK - the beaches are amazing, the scenery is beautiful and let's not get me started on Cornish Pasties the size of your head! And if that wasn't enough, the place is choc-full of myth and mystery - it's literally a writer's paradise when it comes to inspiration. So get your thinking caps on and your pen ready to go!

Westcountry Fantasy Competition – May-June 2016

Forget Transylvania and the Deep South! There are spookier, more enchanting lands to draw your inspo from.

The lush hills and misty moors of the Westcountry, England, are saturated with myths of witches, ghosts and goblins, whilst mermaids are often said to be spotted from its cliffs.  The region is also home to many mystical monuments, and is even the rumoured location of King Arthur's Camelot.

So, this is why @OwainGlyn and @Jos1eDemuth are hosting this prose and poetry competition—to celebrate the region and all its folklore, and read some exciting new tales. Joining me on the judging panel are two stellar Wattpad writers; @RobMay and @sandiwardbooks. The five of us will whittle the entries down to five finalists, and then our celeb judge, the wonderful @JayVictor will pick the winner.

You can create new works, or if you have a previously published one to fit the theme then these will also be welcome. Follow any of the judges to keep yourself posted.

Remember, the weirder and more wonderful your entry, the more Westcountry!
