The next morning, Ariane was in the King’s study, sitting right before him, trying not to show any excessive enthusiasm.

She was there to further discuss the upcoming trip to Dilmi.

"Your Majesty?" Ariane asked with hesitation "Could I please take Rose, my faithful servant, with me on the journey?".

King Magnus looked at her in surprise and asked her sternly: "And why would you propose something like that, Lady Ariane?".

"Rose and I are very close and I don’t want to be away from her too long" the girl answered sincerely.

The King looked at her crooked for a few seconds, before saying: "The journey will not last more than two days. And you will return exactly the day after Princess Faith’s wedding. In all, you would be away only five days".

Ariane, with a gentle determination, said: "But I do not want to part with her anyway. You know, when you love something so much that you would never want to leave it. I don’t know if you know what it means, but I do".

The King suddenly became alarmed and asked her: "Don’t tell me you like women".

Ariane laughed gently in his face and said, "There are many kinds of love, Your Majesty".

"But what you feel for Rose is not romantic love, right?" asked King Magnus.

Ariane nodded, even though she didn’t understand what was wrong with being a lesbian.

"All right, you can take her with you" said the King, relieved.

Ariane smiled at him and left the room.

He then went to Rose, busy cleaning the floors of the second floor of the royal palace.

As soon as she saw her, Ariane ran to hug her.

"Miss, be careful!" Rose said to her in surprise "I have just washed the floor and you may slip".

"I have important news that you must know" Ariana said with a warm smile.

"What, My Lady?" asked Rose.

"You will come with me to Dilmi" Ariane cried out enthusiastically.

Rose looked at her in amazement and asked: "How is that possible? Servants usually never leave the castle".

"Because you are not a servant like the others. You are my servant and, you know, I am not noble like the others." Said Ariane.

Rose, excited, hugged the girl.

In the distance, hidden behind a column, Lady April was watching.

"I’ll have to tell Ariane one day" thought Lady April, before sneaking away unseen.
