Aarav's POV

I expected her to be happy but her expression changed into a painful one. Her eyes welled up and I knew what was coming next.

"Sorry Aarav. I-I don't l...love you. I-I am engaged with Rajeev, I can't betray my family" she said and stood up to leave.

With a swift movement, I held her hand preventing her from walking away.

"Stop Kuttu! Don't say that. You wrote a whole diary for me without loving me, isn't it? And why did you cry to Yazhini after getting engaged to that bastard Rajeev? Please don't hide your feelings Kuttu"

"Yes I loved you, love you and maybe will continue to do but you're too late Aarav!

I came to propose you that day, but you were on your knees for another girl. You didn't want to betray my brother nah, what happened now?

What do you expect me to do now? Elope with you? Come let's do it but will I be able to live with that guilt? Will you be able to live with that guilt, guilt of betraying your friend?

The moment you realised that you love me, you should've come and spoke to my brother Aarav but you're too late!"

Her rage filled voice echoed in the lonely Island. Her tears were piercing my heart like needles.

"I know I acted stupid Kuttu. Believe me I love you, I love you with my heart and soul. I maybe late but late is better than never.

I too thought that I shouldn't be betraying my friend but guess what, I later realised that I betraying you is worser. I had to choose between friendship and love Kuttu and as every common man does, I'm choosing love.

You spoiled me for other women too Kuttu, I-I can't see any other women. Everytime I see an other women, your face comes to my mind.

I also know the fact that you're not in love with Rajeev then why do you need to do this marriage, that too with him, a freaking Casanova... " I roared, this is the first time ever that I'm using this tone to her.

"This whole conversation isn't about Rajeev or Aki or anyone else, it's about us, Agalya and Aarav.

Okay Aarav what has happened has happened, I'll give you one last chance to win me back.

I can't elope with you leaving my family behind because you yourself know why, my dad is a heart patient and he definitely wouldn't be able to take this and Aki would be disheartened if I do that.

So, you come to my house and speak to my parents and most importantly, Aki. If you end up convincing them, I'm all yours if not...."

Words struck in my mouth, I didn't speak anything but nodded silently.

We boarded the boat, reached the port and I drove her back to her home. She got down front he car and I did too.

She hugged me and told," this is being our first or last hug is in the hands of God" and went inside her house weeping.

I'm standing in front of her house encouraging and calming myself. I really don't know what to expect.

I wasn't able to catch even a bit of sleep the whole night. All what ifs were running in my mind and I was preparing answers for their questions.

I also called Aki and asked him to be present at their parents house, he was confused but still he agreed. He's another tornado who'd be hard to manage.

I wore formals to look presentable in front of them. Calming myself ofr one last time, I rang the doorbell.

Aunty opened the door and said," Come in Kanna". I courtly nodded and stepped in.

Uncle was reading newspaper and Aki was on a call. Kuttu was nowhere to be seen, then I noticed a shawl being pulled into the room next to the living room. Maybe she and Yazhini are inside.

Uncle kept the paper down and said," good morning Dr.Aarav. How is your job young man?"

"Good uncle. How's your buisness doing uncle?"

"Going great by god's grace" Uncle told smiling.

"Haan! You yourself tell him Kanna, he is over working himself, he should take care of his health also no Kanna. Ask him when he's gonna keep all buisness aside and take rest" Aunty muttered bringing tea for all of us.

"I'm done with my duties, my son is has a prestigious job and a family of his own, my daughter is going to get married soon, I've created all the assets needed for them, I've taken care of my wife like a queen and I'm sucessful with my buisness too. I'll soon retire Maytri, stop worrying" Uncle said in a satisfied tone.

I was about to speak about the topic while Aki hanged his phone and sat down on the couch opposite to me.

"How're you da cardio? Seems like the cardiologist is so busy that he's not even able to attend his best friend's sister's engagement?" Aki inquired.

"Nothing like that da, I just had few surgeries lined up then." I replied.

"Aandaal (Aarav's mom) spoke to me yesterday, she is really worried about your marriage Kanna... You ordered her not to look for any bride it seems, why Kanna?" Aunty asked with concern filling her face. How can I tell her that I'm waiting for her daughter?

"She told you too aunty? I'll do soon aunty" I assured her. Yes, I'll do soon.

"Is there some girl you love without our knowledge Aarav?" Aki giggled.

"Yes Aki, there's a girl" I said nervously.

"Really Aarav? You didn't tell me for this long" Aki panicked.

"Sorry Aki, I'm in love with that girl for years now but I don't know whether I can pursue her" I told shocking everyone.

The door opened slightly giving the view of Kuttu, nervously fidgeting with the hem of her shawl. I looked at her and she diverted her eyes down.

"Who's that Aarav? Do I know her? What are her parents not agreeing? Don't worry we'll kidnap her" he said almost jumping with happiness.

Aunty baby slapped him and questioned," who's that lucky girl Kanna?"

I again took a deep breathe and told," yeah Aki, you all know her very well. She's none other than your sister Agalya"
