Something There
Beal took a walk outside with Philippe by his side. He nudged into him, making him smile and give his nose a hug.
On the other side of the plaza, Y/n dragged a stick in the snow, bored out of her mind, until she heard Sultan bark. She smiled over at him, then bent in the snow, giggling as he jumped into her arms.
Beal watched from the other side with a small blush, feeling his lips curve when he saw how cute she was. Seeing him, he blew a kiss over, which he pretended to catch and put on his heart.
Adam watched both of them from the balcony, fingering his bandages. "I've never felt this way about anyone...I want to do something for them...but what?"
"Well, there's the usual things," Cogsworth suggested, then listed a few off. "Flowers, chocolates...promises you don't intend to keep."
"Ah, no, no," Lumière chuckled, pushing him playfully. "It has to be something very special. Something that will spark their interests." He put his waxy holder to his top candle chin, thinking, then sparked with a flame of realization. "Wait a minute!"
-
The servants hid away as Adam took Beal and Y/n to a great door in the palace. He spoke softly to them, trying to retain his excitement. "Y/n, Beal, there's something I want to show you." He turned to open the door, then stopped, requesting, "But first, you have to choose your eyes."
They both looked at each other, then back at Adam, Beal raising an eyebrow.
"It's a surprise."
Shrugging, they did as they were told. Adam waved his hand in front of their faces to make sure, then guided them inside by the hands.
"Can we open them?" Beal asked.
"No, no, not yet." Adam ran to open the curtains, light flooding in, which was the only thing that the couple could see.
"Now can we open them?" Y/n asked with a giant smile, excited herself.
"Alright...now."
They did and gasped when they saw just how big the room was and filled with the only thing they loved more than each other.
Books.
So. Many. Books.
Atop to the ceiling they stood proudly with bold covers and spines, inviting one to crack their backs and journey to a different world; one of fantasy and adventure.
"I can't believe it," Beal muttered, then laughed, "I've never seen so many books in all my life!"
"You...you like it?" Adam asked hopefully.
Y/n nodded, turning to look at all the books. "It's wonderful!"
"Then it's yours."
They both looked at him with disbelief, Y/n breaking it with a smile. She took his hands and said, "Oh, thank you so much."
Beal looked at their hands, his eye twitching slightly.
Outside, the servants watched with excitement, all chattering.
"Oh, would you look at that?"
"Haha! I knew it would work!"
Chip looked between all of them, confused. "What? What works?"
"It's very encouraging."
"Isn't this exciting?"
"I didn't see anything!" he protested again with a pout.
Mrs. Potts chuckled slightly before ushering him along. "Come along, Chip. There's chores to be done in the kitchen."
"But what are they talking about? What's going on? Come on, Mom!"
-
Since they had begun to get along, the new residents had begun to eat with Adam. One winter morning, they sat around the breakfast table with bowls of porridge bring served in front of them. Beal picked up his spoon and took a small sip from it. When he looked up, be gasped in horror at Adam, who was gobbling it up. He looked up, noticing him starting, to which he quickly averted his eyes.
Seeing, Chip nudged the spoon towards him, which he picked up. He put a large heap of porridge and lapped it up as he dropped it into his mouth, making Chip and Clarice giggle. Mrs. Potts gave them a look of disapproval.
Looking back and forth, Y/n shrugged and picked up her own bowl. Adam looked up at her sheepishly and did the same, followed soon by the others. They each raised their bowls and sipped from it.
After eating, they went outside, where the snow sheeted the ground in wonder. Beal bent over with birdseed in his hand, the birds hopping up. Clarice put some birdseed in Adam's hands for him to do the same, but they ran, even when he trudged after then.
Y/n:
There's something sweet
And almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined
Y/n took some of the seed and spread it on the ground. The birds nibbled on it, then jumped into his hands. He looked back at her with a grin, making her giggle.
Y/n:
And now he's dear
And so unsure
I wonder why I didn't see it there before
Finding a bird fly away, she went to follow it, leaving the others.
Adam:
She glanced this way
I thought I saw
And when we touched, she didn't shudder at my paw
No, it can't be
I'll just ignore
But then, she's never looked at me that way before
Y/n hid behind a tree, playing with her hands.
Y/n:
New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be?
She looked out and saw birds all over Adam. Beal gently took one away with his finger, smiling at it.
Y/n:
True that I've got Prince Charming
But there's something in him that I simply didn't see
She made two snowballs and threw them, first at Adam, then at Beal. They looked at her in surprise, finding her giggling to be absolutely adorable. With a mutual glance at each other, Beal made another snowball as Adam gathered a large pile of scots in his hands, instantly dropping it on himself when Beal threw the one he had made at him.
"Traitor!"
"C'mon, Adam, we can get them!" Clarice giggled, throwing one at her brother.
"I'm down." He put his hands over his chest and fell backwards dramatically. "Y/n, avenge me."

Fifi:
Well, who'd have thought?
Mrs. Potts:
Well, bless my soul
Cogsworth:
And who'd have known?
Lumière:
Well, who, indeed?
And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?
Mrs. Potts:
It's so peculiar
We'll wait and see
Fifi, Cogsworth, Lumière:
[We'll wait and see]
All:
A few days more
There may be something there that wasn't there before
-
Beal took off Y/n's jacket as they stepped by the fireplace, which Adam instantly took from him, along with his own, and hung them up, Clarice already asleep on the rug.
Cogsworth:
You know, perhaps there's something there that wasn't there before
Chip looked between him and his mother, confused again. "What?"
Mrs. Potts:
There may be something there that wasn't there before
"What's there, Mama?"
"Shhh. I'll tell you when you're older," she cooed as they hopped away.
-
"Right, then. You all know what we're here," Cogsworth began as the objects gathered around him. "We have exactly twelve hours, thirty six minutes, and fifteen seconds to create the most magical, spontaneous, lovely atmosphere known to man or beast." He caught himself, chuckling awkwardly. " 'Or beast...' " He paused, clearing his throat. "Right. Need I remind you that if the last petal falls from this rose, the spell will never be broken. Very well. You all know your assignments. Half of you in the west wing, half of you to the east wing. The rest of you, come with me."
"Hoho, lighten up Cogsworth and let nature take its course," Lumière tried to pursued.
Mrs. Potts nodded. "It's obvious there's a spark between them."
"Yes yes yes...but there's no harm in fanning the flames. You know, a little. Besides, they must fall in love tonight if we ever expect to be human again."
"Ah...human again..." Lumière sighed and Mrs. Potts did likewise.
"Human again..."
"Yes, think what that means..." Lumière hopped to the carpet in the hallway, the others following him. He wound Cogsworth up and let him ding a small chime.
Lumière:
I'll be cooking again, good looking again
With a mademoiselle on each arm
He put one arm around Fifi and the other around Mrs. Potts.
Lumière:
When I'm human again; only human again
Poised and polished and gleaming with charm
I'll be courting again, chic and sporting again
Mrs. Potts:
Which should cause several husbands' alarm
She winked at Lumière, who had jumped into Fifi's arms.
"Haha!"
Lumière, Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth:
I can't wait to be human again!
-
The knickknacks cleaned Y/n's room as the gossip about the potential of being human again got around.
Knickknacks:
When we're human again; only human again
We'll be knickknacks and whatnots no more
When we're human again; good and human again...
The wardrobe leaned against the table, the knickknacks running. When she put all her weight on it, she crushed it.
Wardrobe:
Oh, chérie, won't it all be top drawer?
She took some of Y/n's lipstick and put it on, smiling at herself in the mirror.
Wardrobe:
I'll wear lipstick and rouge
And I won't be so huge
Why, I'll easily fit through that door!
She wrapped herself in the curtains hanging on the window, sighing dreamily.
Wardrobe:
I'll excuse savoir faire
I'll wear gowns, I'll have hair!
It's my prayer to be human again
-
Even the barn was being cleaned out. Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts stood on top of the stable, watching.
Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth:
When we're human again; only human again
When the world once more starts making sense
Cogsworth tumbled back and fell into a bucket of water.
Cogsworth:
I'll unwind for a change
Lumière raised his eyebrows. "Really? That would be strange?" he teased him.
Cogsworth:
Can I help out if I'm t - t - tense?!
He took a deep breath before continuing. He then opened his front to let the water out and dried himself off with a towel.
Cogsworth:
In a shack by the sea, I'll sit back sipping tea
Let my early retirement commence!
Far from fools made of wax, I'll get down to brass tacks and rela -
Rolling his eyes, Lumière pushed him back into the bucket.
Cogsworth:

Chorus:
When I'm human again!
-
The ballroom and bedroom were taken care of straight after, as that was where most of the magic was set to happen.
Chorus:
So sweep the dust from the floor
Let's let some light in the room
I can feel, I can tell someone might break the spell any day now
Shine up the brass on the door
Alert the dust pail and broom
If it all goes as planned our time may be at hand any day now
Fifi, Maids:
Open the shutters and let in some air
The maids opened up the curtains while Mrs. Potts directed the servants.
Mrs. Potts:
Put these here and put those over there
She jumped back as the brooms came by, sweeping the dust outside, unknowingly onto Cogsworth.
Chorus:
Sweep up the years, the sadness and tears and throw them away
We'll be human again; only human again
When Her Highness sets us all free
Cheeks a-blooming again, we're assuming again
We'll resume our long-lost joie de vivre
We'll be playing again, holidaying again
And we're praying it's ASAP
Little push, little shove
They could both learn to love
And we'll finally be human again...

"...for there never was a story more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo." Beal closed the book, sighing as he finished. Breaking the moment, Y/n put her finger in her mouth, gagging. "Oh, come on, still?" he asked with a chuckle.
"Yep."
Adam had his head in his arms, requesting to him, "Could you read it again?"
"Well, here. Why don't you read it to us?" Beal handed him the book, which he hesitantly took. "And don't worry, Y/n will keep her comments to a minimum."
"Uh...alright...hmm..." He looked at the words, stuttering, coming to a stop, repeat. "I...I can't," he finally admitted, embarrassed.
"You mean you never learned?" Y/n asked, a little surprised, but mostly sad, as books her hers and Beal's escape in life. [Like pot, only legal.]
"I learned...a little..." He picked up the book and sighed as he looked at it. "It's just been so long..."
"Well, here, we'll help you." Y/n took the book back and flipped through it. "Let's start...here." She pointed and let Adam take the book back, trying to read.
"Here...twoe...?"
"Two," she corrected.
"Two. I knew that," he joked before continuing. "Two households, both alike in dignity..."

The mops worked on the floor as Sultan ran around, frightening a cushion, which was supposed to be a cat. He chased it around, tracking mud, until they were ushered out.
Chorus:
We'll be dancing again, we'll be twirling again
We'll whirling around with such ease
When we're human again; only human again
We'll go waltzing those old one, two, threes
We'll be floating again, we'll be gliding again
Stepping, striding, as fine as you please
Like a real human does, I'll be all that I was
On that glorious morn, when we're finally re-born
And we're all of us human again!
The wardrobe jumped from the balcony in a cannonball, everyone running out of the way, except that Lumière and Cogsworth were unable to. Luckily, however, she landed in the pool, rather than on them.
