Anthony's POV

Ryan was in tears next to me. Tammy's cancer was getting stronger, and we were scared to lose her. I comforted him, reminding myself to stay strong for the both of them... Tammy's breathing was hitched.

Tammy's POV

As I drifted off, I thought about some of my old memories...

I was just a child when Papa and Dad adopted me... it was the happiest day of my life... to have two parents who loved me with all their hearts...

Of course, it had to be countered by the saddest day of my life... the day I was taken from them. I woke up in a room that wasn't my own... I had Francis, that was all... I hated my birth parents. They were rich snobs, and they weren't anything like Dad and Papa, who cared about me and would do anything for me...

Before I was adopted, I was a slow learner and a slow grower. I didn't know much, so I was taught extra. Then I was adopted, and I learned faster.

For the five years I spent with my birth parents, I was upset. Just... constantly. When they kicked me out of their house, I made a beeline to Dad and Papa. My real parents. The ones who didn't give me away to an orphanage, the ones who loved me no matter what.

My eyes opened for a few minutes. I was breathing heavily. My vision was blurred, but I could see Dad, Papa, Joseph, Connor, their parents, Ella, Julia, and Thomas all standing near me. Dad was crying. Typical of him. So were Ella and Julia. I felt bad for them, having to deal with me having cancer. Francis was lying down next to me. I started petting him, running my hands through his fur.

I fell asleep again soon after. 

Anthony's POV

-one week later-

Ryan hugged Tammy tightly. She'd won the fight against cancer. The doctors said that petting Francis had helped with her blood pressure (I'm sorry if I get some details wrong I don't know much about all this cancer stuff-). I hugged them both happily. Seeing Ryan's face like this made me wonder how I hadn't loved him my entire life... I had an idea. The only thing I was wondering was if he'd like it.
