Chapter 19
Ryan's POV
I sat down on the couch. The jet lag was really getting to me. Ella sat down next to me. "So, how are April and May doing?" she asked me. "Last I checked they were doing pretty well," I answered her. "Ryan, why are you just laying down? Don't you want to do something fun? You just got back!" Anthony said happily. "I'd love to, trust me, but I need to rest," I complained. "Oh, come on! You know you wanna party!" Anthony insisted. "I really just want to sleep. Just stop," I said. "Please?" Anthony asked.
"No."
"Come on, please?"
"NO."
"Aw, love, you don't want to celebrate this?"
"NO! I am sick of you treating me like a child! You never take me seriously! Can't I just get a peaceful rest to myself without you trying to make me do everything I don't want to do?!" I shouted. I immediately covered my mouth. Why must I be so blunt? Anthony was staring at me, then he said to himself, "Oh my gosh, he's right, I don't take him seriously." I sighed. "I'm going to go to sleep," I said, and walked past everyone.
"Ryan. Wake up," I heard a voice. "Ella, what is it?" I asked. "You know, I get that you're a bit angry, and still tired, but you made Anthony really upset," she said. "How?" I asked. "I dunno. He just seemed absolutely confused, and he said he needed a rest, too," she informed me. "Probably just shock. If anyone get over it, I know he can," I said, rolling back onto my side. Ella grabbed my wrist and dragged me over to Anthony's room. "He's not coming out, and he's not opening the door," she explained, "Fix this." And with that, she walked away. I sighed and walked to the door. I knocked on the door. "Anthony! Get out of there!" I shouted. "Why should I? You're right. I don't take you seriously. I don't remember the last time I treated you like my boyfriend, rather than a child," he said on the other side. "What? Ugh, you know that was just me being hotheaded," I said back. "Your bluntness is not the point! I'm saying that you were right, and I should respect you..." Anthony answered.
"Look, all this about a headache? We're both being petty about this-" The door opened widely. "WHAT? This isn't about the jet lag, this is about us!" he said. "Okay, I get that, but honestly, do we really need to be fighting?" I asked. He pulled me into the room and closed the door back. He sat down. "I'm in the wrong here," we both said simultaneously. We looked at each other, and then laughed. "Okay, seriously, though, I'm going to take you more seriously, Ryan," Anthony said. I smiled. "I'm glad," I responded, and kissed him as the door opened again. "Guys! Can't we get a little privacy here?" Anthony asked, and I laughed. The door was closed again followed by giggles. "Now where were we?" I asked, and kissed him again.
-the next day-
Anthony's POV
Ryan and I were at a park. It was really nice, and we got there around midday, so it was fairly crowded. When I had asked why he took me here, he had simply responded, "It's been a while since I took you on a date." We walked around a lot, and we sat under a tree away from people when Ryan suddenly stood up. I got up with him. "So... we've been together for years... I think we really fit together. What do you think?" he asked me. "Oh, well, yeah. Definitely," I laughed. His face looked a bit red.
"So... I wanted to know..." he started. "I've been keeping this for a while. And I think I'm finally ready," he finished, and stepped down on one knee. I covered my mouth with my hands. "Anthony, I love you. I really do. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" he asked. "Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. This is happening. YES!" I said, and I hugged him tightly. I started laughing, and he laughed back.
