"You know, Carter, it gets bloody boring without a pet," Sadie said.

"We literally just defeated the Chaos Serpent three weeks ago. I want⏤no I need boredom."

Sadie chuckled. "Oh bother, mine. You never had a pet. You don't know the joy of having a pet."

"Um...ok?"

"We need a nome pet!"

Carter looked at Sadie weirdly. "That's stupid."
"No it's not! If it is stupid⏤which it's obviously not⏤the people voting on the decision will vote so!" Sadie clapped her hands. "I can send something out like, 'Do you want a pet for the nome? Check yes or no.' then I can put down some pets and the one with the most votes win!"

Carter pursed his lips. "As much as I hate saying this, believe me I do, that doesn't sound half bad. But you're doing all of the work."

"What?!"

"It's your idea."

"That makes sense," Sadie admitted.

"Gotta go, little sis." Carter knew that she hated when he called her "Little sis." "I have to teach my last class." Sadie glared at Carter's retreating back and walked upstairs to her room.

Finally! The last of the nome pet forms have been printed off. Sadie grabbed one and read over it to make sure everything was printed correctly. "Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh... uh-huh." Great. Now it's time to wait for dinner.

Sadie listened to some music on her iPod. Or at least tried to. Within thirty seconds of "Bad at Love" she turned off her iPod when she remembered she had homework due in roughly sixteen hours. When she dragged her binder out of her binder from the depths of her backpack, Sadie heard a stampede running past her room. Either dinner was ready or Felix summoned a horde of penguins and they were looking for the nearest balcony.

Probably the first. Maybe.

Sadie grabbed the nome pet forms and rushed downstairs. "I'm here, people. You all can stop worrying about me."

"You weren't here? We didn't notice," Carter said.

Walter said, "Actually⏤."
"We were trying to stop Felix's penguins from jumping off of the balcony."
"Poor Loretta," Felix said sadly, "Never forget"

"Well, then," Sadie stated, "I have an idea."
Carter looked at her. "I thought you were joking."

"Anyways," Sadie once again glared at her brother, "Let's stray away from that rude interruption. I've got this idea of having a nome pet. You know, like a class pet but it's a nome pet."
"'Nome pet?'" asked Uncle Amos, "We already have Philip."

"We need something to take care of."
"You mean something I have to take care of once everyone goes to school."

"Exactly!" Sadie threw the papers and used the air elemental magic to magic them to everybody's spot. "Wow I thought that Shu was still mad at me" A violent wind tore through her hair messing it up. "Never mind," Sadie said while patting down her hair.
