I am so happy to introduce to you...

Maya adjusted the camera making sure it was at the right angle before sitting down to film. She checked herself out in the view finder fixing her hair and making sure everything looked perfect before grabbing the remote and pushing record.

"Hey everyone, long time no see!" she shouted, smiling into the camera. "I know I disappeared and left you guys hanging for a few weeks so we have a lot to catch up on. First, yes, I'm back blonde. I went back blonde now a little over two months ago. I pre-filmed some videos so my last few videos you saw were brunette pregnant Maya before I went completely M.I.A. but now you have blonde Maya back and second" she smiled before standing up and showing her now flat stomach. "Not only am I blonde but I'm no longer pregnant. I had my baby," she grinned, patting her stomach. "And you guys she is so beautiful," she gushed, with the biggest smile, sitting back down. "And I can't wait to show her to you guys," she said in awe. "Josh is with her right now and is going to join us with her in any second after he gets her all dressed up to show you, but I thought I would start and catch up with you guys while he is doing that. So, we kept her birth to ourselves for a little bit and I know you guys were counting down and knew I had to have had her by now because I saw the comments but we wanted to enjoy our time together and adjust to being parents but I thought it was time to let you guys in."

Maya adjusted herself to be more comfortable. She took in a deep breath ready to relive the days it took to bring her daughter into the world.

"You try to prepare yourself the best you can by taking classes and reading books and makings plans. You dream of this amazing birth and I looked at my best friend and how both of her births went and how she made it look so easy and adjusted so well to motherhood and I can tell you my birth experience and my journey so far in motherhood has been nothing like hers. My birth was long and hard and motherhood hasn't been the easiest for me,' Maya opened up to her audience honestly. "I'll do another video about my journey in motherhood so far but right now let's talk about my birth experience and introduce you guys to my little girl."

Maya took a sip of her water before starting.

"I went into labor at thirty-seven weeks and six days but I had her at thirty-eight weeks. Yes, I was in labor for close to forty hours and it was brutal," she said, closing her eyes and wincing as she thought about the pain. "My contractions were really long but they didn't reach the five minutes long and five minutes in-between or whatever it needs to be and I wanted to labor at home as much as I could. I was in the comfort of my parent's home. We were still at my parents and I was making Josh and my dad a nervous wrack," she laughed at the memory.

Maya groaned in pain, leaning over and resting her arms and head on the arm of the couch as Josh stood beside her resting a hand on her upper back, resting his head against hers.

Shawn sat across from her on the chair as his legs bounce up and down. "Should we take her to the hospital?" he asked no one in particular but hoping someone would give him an answer as he watched Maya in pain.

Katy shook her head as she moved to sit down the furthest away from the young couple on the couch giving them a little space. "It's not time. Her contractions aren't close enough together and her water hasn't broke so there is no reason to take her yet. They would just send her back home and tell her to come back later. How long has she been having contractions?"

Josh looked up at his mother-in-law, "She woke me up at exactly 3:10a.m. and told me she was having a contraction for the past hour," Josh answered, causing the older couple to look over at the clock.

10:11a.m.

Maya had been in labor for around eight hours.

"She looks like she is in a lot of pain," Shawn said, worrying about Maya.

Katy smirked, looking over at her husband who looked freaked out and knowing this was just the beginning, "Welcome to childbirth."

"Is she okay? Maybe we should-"

"Shut up! Everybody shut up!"

Josh looked back up shocked at his wife's sudden outburst, he looked over at the older couple with an apologetic look, and knew he would probably be giving this look a lot today until his little girl was born into the world.

Katy shook her head, smiling, shrugging it off as Shawn sat back in his seat and looked terrified of doing something else wrong.

Maya stood up straight, resting her hand on her stomach as she closed her eyes. Josh sat down on the arm of the couch, rubbing Maya's hips as she rested her free hand on his shoulder.

"Are you okay?" Josh murmured.

Maya slowly nodded.

Josh gave her a small smile. "You're doing so good babe."

Maya returned his small smile, sitting down on the couch. "I feel like I'm giving birth to a demon."

Josh looked over at the older couple to get a cue on what to do but both were trying to hold back their laughs.

"Well..." Katy shrugged. "I felt the same."

Maya looked up and glared at her mother. "Haha. Funny."

Katy chuckled turning the television on and putting the volume on low just have some background noise as the four waited for Maya's labor to progress.

XOXOXOX

"We need a name," Maya said, looking over at her husband as the four took a walk around the block a few hours later to help Maya's labor forward.

Josh stopped looking over at his wife, "Now?"

"No, Josh, next year so we know what to write on her first birthday cake," Maya snapped, causing the older couple to snicker. "You're the one who veto my pick."

Josh rolled his eyes, "I don't want to name her that and you vetoed mine."

"Yea because Navy is not her name and you picked this random name out of nowhere."

"I thought Navy was cute."

It was Maya's turn to roll her eyes. "I don't like it."

"I know. It's why I haven't pushed it but you continue to push yours"

Maya huffed, "Then pick a different name-"

"I did and you hated it."

"How about you wait and see her then pick a name," Katy suggested to help the soon to be father.

Maya sighed, she was scared what if waiting and seeing her a name still doesn't pop out. "I just want to go home and take another bath. Maybe that will help."

I labored at home for about thirteen or fourteen hours until I couldn't take it anymore. I took two baths and our family took walks, I did stretches and I did everything I could to stay as comfortable and calm as I could. My contractions were really long but weren't close enough to go to the hospital, but I couldn't take it any longer because the pain started to be unbearable. I was in so much pain so we went to the hospital. When we get there and check in and we get admitted and get put into a room so I'm excited to find out how far along I am. I'm waiting for them to check me and when they do...I was only two centimeter," Maya breathed out, shaking her head at the memory and pain. "Just two after all of those hours."

Maya stopped herself from continuing when she saw out the corner of her eyes Josh and their baby girl were headed in their direction. She smiled at the camera. "You guys let's pause my labor and delivery story because baby girl is about to make her YouTube debut," she grinned as Josh walked over to take a seat next to her with their daughter in his arms. "I put a picture of her hand up yesterday on Instagram announcing that this video will be up today but now you get to see her in all of her glory."

"Hi baby," Maya said in a baby voice to her little girl. "Isn't she so beautiful?" she asked the camera, as Josh showed their daughter dressed in her cream onesie with ruffles and bow on top of her head to match off to the camera.

"We are so in love and in awe with her," Maya said, as Josh nodded, looking down at his daughter with loving eyes. "Who do you guys think she looks like? Me or Josh?" she asked, as Josh carefully held up the light brown hair and big blue eye baby in between two. "Leave it in the comments below. I say Josh but I think her hair may be a little lighter but not blonde like mine."

"I say it's too early to tell," Josh shrugged.

Maya laughed, playfully rolling her eyes. "He only says that because he knows I'm right."

Now it was Josh's turn to playfully roll his eyes, shaking head with a smile.

"I was just telling them about my labor and how when we got to the hospital, I was only two centimeters."

Josh nodded, as he adjusted his daughter to be more comfortable. "Fun."

"Tons," Maya agreed, as she fixed her daughter's shirt as Josh laid her against his chest and got comfortable in his seat. "After being told I was only two centimeters and I'm in a lot of pain we decided to labor in the tub for like an hour, maybe a little longer," she picked back up where she left off. "I felt like I was in there for like five minutes but we were in there for just a little over an hour. I got sick which was embarrassing but the nurse said it's a good thing and a good sign."

"We were looking for any signs this was moving along and the nurse was positive when Maya got sick," Josh added.

Both smiled and glanced down at their daughter when she made one of her baby noises before Maya began again.

"Because at this point I've been in labor for like twenty-four hours and I was in pain, having hard long contractions but I just wasn't..."

"Dilating," Josh helped, patting his daughter's back. "She was having contractions, and both her and baby's heartbeats were fine so they weren't concern just yet. The only thing was Maya was in a lot of pain and wasn't dilating. She only got to a three which isn't anywhere close to the ten she needed to be."

Maya took in a deep breath as she remembered the pain. "I was in so much pain so I was like can I get an epidural? I originally didn't want one because I got freaked out about the needle, but I just couldn't deal with the pain anymore. I was really scared while getting the epidural but the nurses were amazing and I had Josh there so it made me feel better so I get the epidural and I start to feel the medicine and it was amazing," she laughed at the last part. "I wasn't feeling any pain and I went to sleep?" she looked over at Josh who nod to confirm, adjusting their daughter when she became a little cranky. "For like a half an hour but they didn't do my epidural right so it failed."

Josh nodded, "We forgot to mention they had broken her water right before the epidural and when they did the epidural the placement was wrong. It wasn't one hundred percent correct where it needed to be so the needle went through and the fluid was going through but it was numbing in all the wrong areas."

"Yeah, like I was paralyzed in my legs. I couldn't feel my legs at all. It was like I was numb from my thighs down but I felt everything in my pelvis area so I was still feeling the contractions."

"They also had started to give her Pitocin to start trying to push along and try to get her further. Pitocin will increase and intensify your contractions."

"I was already in a lot of pain before that but now I'm feeling even more intense contractions."

"With no real epidural so she was in a lot of pain, she was shivering even though she wasn't cold, and she was nauseas and getting sick. It was extremely hard to watch her be in so much pain and not to be able to do anything."

Maya gave Josh a small smile at how loving her husband was. "And the nurse was like roll over to see if I could get comfortable somehow and I'm like I can't because I can't feel my legs and had the cord in my spine from the epidural that isn't working but I still have the cord which I didn't know that but you don't just get a shot with an epidural and then it is over but you have a cord stuck in you that has medicine go through it to help. I'm trying to move as best as I can and I couldn't get comfortable. I'm just in so much pain and the anesthesiologist would come in and fix it and pull it and I would feel a gush of medicine so I would feel better but it wouldn't last because I would have move to get comfortable and I would feel the pain again."

"By this point I was really frustrated because she is in a lot of pain and I can't do anything to help her and I felt like they weren't helping her. We are both tired because we haven't had any sleep."

"Yea" Maya agreed. "Because I've already been in labor for almost thirty-four hours."

"And I wanted her to get some kind of sleep so I stay awake and kept pushing the pain medication button every ten minutes, trying to help her as much as I can."

Maya watched as Josh adjusted their daughter again to make her happy. "Josh stayed awake the entire time so when I wake up, I was still feeling so much pain and pressure and I've been in labor for over thirty-six hours now so I'm thinking I have to be close to ten centimeters and ready to push her out of me and they checked me and..." Maya closed her eyes taking in a deep breath, "I was only five centimeters," she let out an aggravated breath remembering all the feelings and disappointment. "So finally the midwife comes to me and..."

Josh looks up from his daughter to his wife as his wife stopped talking and reaches out to her when he sees her getting upset. "Hey, stop. It's okay."

"I'm sorry I'm just getting so emotional remembering," Maya tries to compose herself as she wipes away a tear that escaped.

Josh lovingly rubbed Maya's back, "They suggested that it was time she has a c-section."

"That was hard for me because I expected me giving birth to go a different way. I feel like I failed because I couldn't have a baby naturally."

"Stop it, you didn't fail," Josh eased, adjusting his daughter once again so he could comfort his wife. "You were tired and in pain and not dilating. The most important thing was the both of you were safe and healthy then the way she actually came out of you."

Maya nodded, "I was in so much pain all I could think about was I was ready to get this baby out of me, so I agree to the c-section but then they told me they couldn't do a c-section until I dilated to six centimeters and I got a little upset because like why tell me when I still have to wait and keep being in pain and feeling like a failure."

"There was no reason for you to feel like a failure," Josh reassured her seriously, knowing Maya was battling some postpartum depression. "I was the one who should have felt like a failure not you. I was useless because I couldn't help you. I was just standing there as your husband and seeing you in pain for hours and I mean hours and I couldn't do anything to help you and I think we both were at our breaking points but we had to accept this took a left turn and this was how are daughter came into the world."

Maya stared into her husband's eyes, giving him a small smile. "You were there and never left my side that was enough."

"I wouldn't have been anywhere else."

"I love you," Maya mouthed.

"I love you too," Josh mouthed back. "You did an amazing job bringing our daughter into the world and should be proud of yourself." he told her before carefully leaning over and giving Maya a quick peck on the lips.

Maya gave him her smile only meant for him before turning back to the camera, "So we waited for them to come back and check me and it was finally time. I've been in labor for her forty hours now and we were finally ready for this c-section and they started wheeled me in, but it was scary because they told me I had to go under anesthesia."

Josh cut in knowing this part would be hard for Maya to explain, "They told us there was so much fluid in her spine from the epidural that the fluid will continue to travel up her spine and paralyze her breathing, stopping her heartbeat and so many other side effects so they recommended anesthesia and we took their recommendation," Josh continued as Maya reached over to rub their little girl's back.

"And because I was being put under Josh couldn't be with me which terrified me because here I was having a c-section, being put under and I couldn't have my husband with me. I had to be by myself. If I would have gotten a spinal block or epidural Josh could be in there but I was getting anesthesia so I was alone in the room as they prepped me but at the last minute they informed me I could have the spinal block because my epidural wasn't working so I didn't have fluid in my spine so they did the spinal block and I felt so good. I wasn't feeling any pain anymore but Josh didn't have any clue because he wasn't with me yet."

Josh nodded, "I was in the waiting room and it was hard to leave her because she was still in pain when I left but they sent me to the waiting room and had to come get me. I freaked the you know what out when they told me they gave her a spinal block. I was pretty upset so I yelled at the nurse and had to apologize to the nurse later because I thought they screwed up and I got really scared and angry for my wife."

Josh walked into the waiting room to find his mother, Maya's mother and his niece. All three quickly on their feet at the sight of him.

"Is she here yet?" his mother asked, excitedly as all three women had huge smiles on their faces.

Josh shook his head, taking a seat, resting his head in his hands. "Maya has to get a c-section."

"Why are you out here?"

Josh rubbed his hands over his face as he tried to keep his emotions in check. He was tired and worried for his wife and his unborn child. "They have to put her under because she had an epidural."

The women nodded as they returned to her seats.

"I'm sure Maya and your daughter are going to be fine," Amy try to ease her son's worries. "Maya is strong and I'm sure your daughter is going to be just as strong."

Riley and Katy both smiled at Amy's words.

Josh simply nodded, standing up when one of the nurses he recognized came in. They told him it would be fast but he wasn't expecting this fast.

"Mr. Matthews, you can follow me back if you like. Your wife is prepped and ready and we just need you to get all scrubbed up and we can start the procedure."

Josh furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Follow you back and start the procedure?" he asked.

"Yes, your wife just received the spinal block and is ready and prepped for surgery. You can follow me back and get in scrubs to be at her side to welcome your baby into the world"

Josh felt his heart skip a beat and fear and anger run through his body. "What do you mean she got a spinal block! She wasn't supposed to have that! I thought you guys said that could stop her heart and hurt her breathing," he snapped.

"Josh, calm down," Amy eased, resting a hand on her son's shoulder.

"Mom! NO! Maya could die! Where is my wife? I want to see my wife right now!"

"Josh," Riley said, catching Josh's attention. She knew he was sleep deprived and worried for his wife and unborn child. "Calm down. I'm sure she can explain everything and then you'll see Maya but you need to remain calm because Maya and your unborn daughter needs you to."

Josh took in a deep breath trying to calm himself down before looking over at the nurse for her to explain what was happening with Maya.

"The epidural never worked so there was no fluid in her spine allowing us to do a spinal block. Your wife is fine and is prep for her c-section. She is waiting and asking for you. I can take you to your wife as soon as you get dressed in your scrubs," the nurse explained.

Josh took in a deep breath and nodded, allowing the nurse to take him back. He quickly got dressed in his scrubs before following the nurse back to where his wife was, as worry ran through every inch of his entire body. He wanted and needed to see Maya to see with his own eyes to see she was fine. He walked as fast as he could into the room and relief came over his body to findMaya looking more relax and content than he had seen her in over the last forty hours. All of his fears and anger washed away seeing his wife was okay and looking like she was finally out of pain. He returned her smile as she looked over at him with a small smile on her face. "Hi," he whispered.

"Hi," she said back. "We are about to meet our little girl."

"We are."

"From the cut to baby it took four minutes! After all those long hours of labor it took four minutes to get her out of me."

"Yeah," Josh confirmed.

"Hearing her cry for the first time is something I will never forget," Maya said, getting emotional as she looked down at her daughter in her father's arms.

"Definitely unforgettable," Josh agreed, smiling down at his daughter. "One of the best sounds I've ever heard. It was...one of the best moments in our lives. To hear she was finally here and okay."

"It's indescribable the feelings you feel. I couldn't see her at first and I remember crying and Josh describing her to me."

"She was like her Momma. She was six pounds and eleven ounces and eighteen inches long."

"Then they finally put her on my chest and I got to see her with my own eyes. It was the best feeling. I got to hold her for a few minutes before they rolled us into our room. I got sick again and they had to clean me up and I was so tired so Josh took her."

Josh nodded, "Yeah, I got her right a way and I got to do skin to skin and spend some one-on-one time with her while Maya got the sleep she desperately needed after everything she had been through. When she woke up she spent some time with her and I got some sleep and when I woke up the three of us spent time as a family."

Maya nodded, smiling, remembering how precious those moments. "That's our birth story. That is how our little girl entered the world."

"She definitely entered in with a bang."

"I'll say," Maya laughed. "I know you guys are dying to know her name which was a battle until she came into the world."

Josh chuckled, "After seeing Maya in pain and everything she went through I told her she can name her whatever she wants."

"Which made me happy," Maya grinned, "I knew I wanted to name her after my favorite-well actually two of my favorite people in the entire world. Her middle name was a name we both agreed on forever ago which is Hope. It makes me think of my best friend. Anyone who knows my best friend knows why Hope is so special. I know my little girl's favorite person," Maya nodded her head towards her daughter. "Is one of my favorite people who happens to be the guy next to me so I knew she wanted to be named after him."

Josh shook his head but couldn't hide his smile. Both Josh and Maya smiled at each other excited to introduce their little girl.

"So everyone I am so happy to introduce to you...Joslynn Hope Matthews."

This chapter did not go as I thought it would. I didn't tend for it be like a video chapter.
