Taking Olympus Back Part 10
Authors note: Hey guys :D So I've gotten a lot of inboxed questions about the story, like wondering when I'm going to update or even where the storys going. Truth is, my sweet angel faces, I don't even know! :O
You see, my freshmen year is coming to an end and I have some grades I need to get up. No, I'm not failing ( Oddly enough, my lowest grade is in english.) I just have some B's that should be A's. So right now, that is priority numero uno. So ya know, cherish the update, noob! (omg I'm a freshman in college now, I wrote this story 4 years ago, where'd the time go?)
Now, as to where the story is going... I don't really know about that... I mean, I've thought a couple chapters ahead, but aside from that it's pretty much a toss up. You know about as much as I do. I'm just making it up as I go along. Wow, I sound like a hippie.
Alright, were done here! As you were!

Hades P.O.V:
"Lord Hades?" Athena said, softly. My eyes remained closed, but her silky voice traveled through my mind. She, of course, had taken to calling me 'Lord Hades' now, to spite me. No, that wouldn't do. It was to formal. She would never think of me as her loyal husband if she had to refer to me as a Lord. Then again, it was a sign of respect and superiority. Yes... Maybe that would work. She spoke again, this time sounding more panicked, her voice changing to a high pitched squeaky tone. "Lord Hades? Please don't be dead... I can't spend another 10 years in the fields of punishment!"
Athena had never been to the fields of punishment. My eyes snapped open, and for the first time since I began my road to consciousness I realized how sore and hot I was. All my muscles ached, but I was still able to move. So I pushed myself up off the ground and onto my feet, feeling something dig into my palm. I looked at my hand to see a few shards of glass sticking out of it. "Damn it." I swore under my breath, picking the large chunks out from my skin. Looking around I saw the window was completely shattered, allowing the hot, humid air from the depths of hell bellow to enter the room. All the crystals of glass were now scattered around the room. The long banquet table was a mess as well, completely flipped on its side, all the food dumped along the floor. Luckily I wouldn't have to clean that.
What had even happened? Athena and I were eating dinner. Well, I was eating, she wouldn't. Gods, she was so stubborn. And then what? I yelled at her... and then I grabbed her... and then I threw her... and then what?... Where was Athena?
I looked to my side, seeing a skeleton maid staring at me with no eyes. "Where is my wife?" I asked her in dry voice. I was so thirsty for some reason.
"Your wife?" She asked, tilting her head. "I didn't know you were married, my lord." She tried my patience; she knew what I meant. Calling Athena my wife, it just sounded so... right. I hadn't even thought about it, I just... said it. She was mine, after all. I would make her my wife soon enough, as it were.
Athena really would make the best wife. The other thing I had to think about was that whoever I married would become queen of the underworld. But she would be good at that as well. She was smart, and thought like a true ruler should. It was a wonder Zeus didn't want her sitting upon the throne of Olympus. But no matter. She would sit upon one down here, with me next to her. Together we would rule the land. She would find some way to be happy, and fall in love with me. Maybe after she's given birth to our first son she'll come around. Or she wouldn't. I didn't truly matter me. Once she swore on the river styx it no longer made a difference.
"I meant Athena. Where is Athena?" I heaved out, streaching my back. It cracked, making me feel better at once. The skeleton brought her hand up, tapping what would be her temple as if she were thinking. I leaned forward expecting an answer that took forever to come.
"Hmmm..." She pondered for a moment longer, my patients wearing thinner by the second. "I dunno. Haven't seen her." She said finally giving up. My heart dropped. Had Athena been the one that did this, I thought, looking around the room. Had she used it as a distraction and left. She wouldn't. She knows the consequences.
She swore.
But maybe she wouldn't care about that. Maybe Ares was to good of a deal to pass up. 'God of war' my ass, 'God of bullshit and lies' would suit him far better. If that was the case, I would hunt her and him down and slaughter Ares in front of her, ending it once and for all. Anger boiled inside me, along with rage, as I turned to face the skeleton, who tried to turn and walk away but, I caught her by the wrist.
"GET BACK HERE!" I growled. She tried pulling away, frightened, but I yanked her back and grabbed her by the back of her neck. "You don't know?! It's you job to know!"
"I'm sorry sir but I-" I broke her wrist off with ease, making her howl in pain. I tossed it across the room, and grabbed her forearm instead.
"You'd better think REALLY hard." I spat out, feeling no pity for her. "Where is my Athena?!" I said slowly and intimadating. I would not lose Athena to Ares. Not again, not now, not ever.
"I sa- I mean I heard a rumor that she left! I swear I didn't see her, but some of the other maids said she left! She left, sir!" She said panicking, afraid that I would break something else off. I listened to her words intently.
"Did she leave with anyone? Anyone at all?" I question, shaking the quivering girl.
"Ye-yes sir. They say, I heard, she left with someone. With a man. No! With a god, sir! He carried her away, they say. But these are just rumors, sir! I know not if they are true or false! Please don't be angry. The god, before he took Lady Athena away he killed 2 of the 3 maids in the room, sir. The only one left was hysterical, couldn't make out a word she said for the longest. Oh, please let go of me." Oh, how I wished Athena was right infront of me so I could beat the living hell out of the child and call her every terrible, nail bitting tounge twisting name in the book! But then again, it was good that she wasn't. I was seeing red right now and would probably beat her to death. And I'd feel bad after that. I threw the annoying girl to the side, hearing her skull crack, as she stopped whimpering.
There was no way those were just rumors. How would they know of a god in particular coming to pick her up and carry her out of the underworld? They wouldn't. Ares had come into the underworld and taken my Athena. My future wife. And she'd gone with him, willingly no doubt.
They both would pay.
"Guards!" I screamed, walking toward the huge doors in the room and sending them flying open. Two guards met my eyes, both scared and probably wondering what was going on. "Ready my ship! Were going on a short trip to go get your future queen back."
"Yes sir." They rushed out of the room, heading down a narrow stair case. I walked with power all the way up to my room, not bothering to walk through the door, as it was still 30 feet away, instead I just evaporated through the wall, saving myself a little time. My room was trashed, and had been for a week, since I got mad at athena for locking herself in the library and threw all of her few belongings around the room, and destroyed anything else I could get my hands on. I thought I told her to clean it up?
I hurried over to the dresser on my side of the bed, searching through my drawers containing shirts and pants. Where was my armor? It was in the last drawer last time I saw it. Had Athena moved it while she was cleaning one day? I searched under the bed, not finding anything except some dust bunnies. And I even searched through Athenas drawers, which were all empty except for one full of dresses I'd had made for her and her undergarment drawer.
Perfect, I didn't even have my armor. I would need it for sure, since Ares probably wouldn't hand her over without a fight. Maybe I could just kill him? Yes, that would work. Well it would have, had my dagger not been in its sheath on the belt of my armor.
I ran through the wall, sprinting down the hall and into my weaponary room. I spotted something chain linked hanging in a supply closet. Sure enough it was my armor. But what the hell was it doing in here? No matter.
"Sir, your ship has been prepared and ready to exit the underworld whenever you're ready, sir." A guard standing at attention formation practically barked at me.
"You. Do you know how my armor came to get into the supply closet on the far side of this room?" I asked walking towards him.
"Lady Athena had it shined and put up in a 'safer place' she said, my lord." The guard answered back in the same barking tone. This guard was strong. He should be a general, but there was no badge on his armor.
"What's your name?"
"Lance, sir." He answered, saluting me.
"We'll Lance, congratulations, you are now a general. Watch over my castle while I'm away. I shouldn't be gone long at all. Should anything happen, it will be your head."
I walked out of the room and faded throught the walls until I reached the grand entrance, my armor still at hand. I walked across a strip of rock to the landing dock of my very spacious, humoungous ship. I boarded, telling the captin exactly where I wanted to go. I headed to my room aboard the ship, changing out of my clothes and into my armor with one selfish, greedy, maniacle thought in mind.
I hope Ares is ready for the storm headed his way. Finally, once and for all, I'll teach him a lesson about taking other people's toys.
