the break in

Harry raced in and slammed the door behind himself.

"What in Merlin's name are you doing Potter?" Draco shouted from the bathtub. Quickly he gathered the bubbles over himself.

Harry was busy warding the door and didn't answer for a moment. "I was alerted that someone broke in."

Draco wasn't sure whether he should hide himself or get out. That was answered when a towel landed next to him.

"The wards did Potter?"

"Yes, now get out. I won't peak if that's what you're worried about. The wards tell me a person's intention when they come in," Harry explained. "This one was something along the lines of kill or seriously maim."

Swearing loudly, Draco quickly dried himself off.

Harry suddenly called, "Kreatcher!"

He was there in a second split, grumbling about Potter and his strange ways.

"Someone dangerous got into the house. Can you tell me where they are?"

Kreatcher glared before answering with a shake of his head.

"Listen Kreatcher, now is not the time to rebel against me. Our lives are on the line."

Kreature began muttering, "Master Potter is making it seem like Kreatcher cares about filthy half blood."

You could hear the smile in Harry's voice when he spoke next, "Kreature, remember Draco? He's a pureblood."

Suddenly Kreatcher's eyes went wide, along with his mouth.

"Draco doesn't have his wand, so we have to protect him. I can't do that with your sass."

"Yes master Potter."

There was the first battle won. Now to get out.

"Kreatcher, please find out who it is without getting caught, and where they are."

Crack!

Then they were left alone. Harry turned back to the door and continued to ward it. He'd already sent Hermione and Ron his stag telling them of the situation.

Swift as possible, Draco dried himself off before wrapping the towel around his waist. Silently he cursed himself for forgetting to bring clothing in here with him. Although, the bathroom was attached to his room. Which raised a question in Draco's mind. "Potter, why didn't you ward my bedroom door instead of the bathroom door? We'd have more to work with," Draco stated.

Harry didn't even look back. "Something I learned from Auror training. Smaller spaces are easier to ward. Even if its just the door." Then Harry's muttering of spells started up again.

Another question arose in Draco's mind. "What about Kreatcher? How's he going to get back in if you ward it?"

"House elves can get through."

Taking in a breath, Draco attempted to calm himself. Kreatcher could still get to them. The intruder couldn't get in, but house elves could. Wait, could ALL house elves get in? So he asked out loud. Potter's response was not helping him stay calm. "Yup. We better hope they didn't bring a house elf." How easily Harry said it bothered him a lot too. It made it seem like it was an every day thing for the golden boy.

Swearing to himself, Draco began to look for something to cover himself better. He didn't want a house elf to pop in, grab him, bring him to the intruder who's intent happened to be murder and have his towel fly off while being dissaparated there. If he was going to die, he wanted to die with some of the dignity he still had left. That wasn't a lot, but he'd take it. Dignity was important to Malfoys.

After a crack of a house elf, and a thud that sounded an awful lot like someone falling, Harry turned around to find Draco on the floor with Kreatcher next to him making a worried expression. The towel was just covering above his mid thigh. Harry ignored the interest it sparked. They still had to get out.

Blushing, Draco had scrambled to get the towel to cover more, and to get up. He glared at Kreatcher before he began to fix his hair quickly.

"We could die, and you choose to do your hair Malfoy?"

Draco continued with his hair. "Well the murderer isn't here yet is he?"

Exasperatedly sighing, Harry turned to Kreatcher. "What did you find?"

"Human come this way fast, and two downstairs by Floo. I bring you two downstairs and we sneak past white eyed humans. They not very alert. Just don't touch. Be quiet half blood. Bad spells on them."

Moments after the explanation, there was a banging on the door. There was a thick accent on the other side swearing, and Suddenly they were downstairs. Kreatcher had side alonged them. Now they were in the room next to the fireplace.

Kreatcher suddenly was gone, and they were left with silence.

"Draco, when we go in there, I want you to Floo to the burrow okay? I'll distract them if I have to."

Draco nodded while his jaw was shaking along with a couple of his muscles. Taking pity on him, Harry took off his sweater and threw it to him.

Knowing he'd put it on swiftly, Harry peaked in to check what they were dealing with. The first thing he saw was the light haired girl who Kevin had to save Harry from. The strange thing this time, was there was a second one. That girl had long brown hair, the same white eyes as the other, and seemed to be whining in pain. The light haired girl seemed to be smirking now. She smacked the brunette when she made a noise to loudly.

Turning back to Draco, he explained, "just be quiet, and whatever you do, do not touch them. One of those girls put me in the hospital recently."

Nodding seriously, he inched forward for a quick glance.

"Alright, go ahead. I'll cover you." With those words, Harry pushed Draco in.

For a moment he froze. Afraid that the girls would attack him. Then he raced to the floo as quietly as he could. With a quick mutter of, "the burrow," and he was gone.

Now the two white eyed girls were slightly more alert. Looking around. Apparently they were very sensitive to noise.

Harry silently Accioed a kitchen knife that he had recently sharpened. Yes, he was paranoid and had added makeshift weapons around the house. Somehow nobody had noticed that the chandelier was strangely shaped, that there were a couple sharpened fire pokers laying around in reach, the hidden weapons under the new furniture, hell he couldn't list them all. Nobody had mentioned anything at least. Now the house was an armed trap that only Harry could control with his magic signature.

After a quick flip of his wrist, he silenced himself while waiting. That's all he could do. The white haired girl was slowly nearing like a curious puppy. The other whining away. Her bright white eyes were terrifying up close. They showed so much emotion, and pain. Somehow it also showed some pride. Soon she was right up in his face sniffing casually trying to figure out what he was.

Harry was not about to move. Last time this had happened, Harry made sure to read up on the notes the ministry had of her. If only he'd done that before the wretched hair circled around him and forced him out of his job for three weeks.

Cally-jean Whittack was a muggle who'd been missing for a year or so. That would have been a month after Karkaroff went into hiding. The poor girl had been transformed into a watchdog that could barely see. Karkaroff had made her partially blind to make her easier to train. At least that's what the ministry had presumed. Slowly she would've been forced to put her trust in him as she was forced to depend on him. The ministry had reason to believe that she'd also had a partial hearing loss for a time. Not much, but enough. After a year of depending on Karkaroff, it was no wonder that she was loyal to him. It was also getting a little too close to her twenty fifth birthday. It was much better to spend it with friends than with a madman who seemed into turning females into his watch dogs.

The other girl on the other hand was new. He'd read of a muggle girl dissapearing. The girl also happened to be seen last, where they had expected Karkaroff to be hiding. Lindy Hallis was only seventeen. The girl's family was extremely worried about Lindy from what he'd heard. They'd put out a large sum of money for any information that could lead them to her.

As Cally-jean circled him, he stayed perfectly still. Until he heard the whizzing of the cages. Why he'd stored them downstairs, he didn't remember, but he was glad the summoning charm had worked as fast as it had. The whizzing was enough to distract Cally-jean and she crawled on her arms and legs away.

Then there was a large cage in the room. Now he only had to lure the two girls into the same spot.

Knowing each floorboard that creaked, Harry avoided every single one before reaching the other end of the room.

Turning around, he saw them playing with the outside of the cage. Using wordless magic, Harry lifted the cage slowly and then moved it over top if them. Cally-jean had stretched out to reach it, while Lindy had gotten as close to the floor as possible while still partially standing. Then Harry lowered it around them. Once Cally-jean realized what happened, she howled frantically while her hair wrapped around the cage. Thankfully Harry had fully magic proofed it earlier.

That was a complete success. Now to get out.

Confidently he ambled over to the floo. Grabbing a handful of the strange powder, he threw it down clearly saying' "the burrow," before he saw a flash of light and felt something hit him.

Stubling out of the fireplace, he swiftly turned around and closed the Floo. Looking down, he could see black everywhere. His chest stung.

The funny thing was the majority of the spell had hit the knife that he'd earlier grabbed to slice the girl's hair if necessary. He'd probably just survived again.

Draco, Hermione, Ron, and Molly were all staring at him awestruck. He kinda looked like he'd survived an explosion.

"I've come to the conclusion that Karkaroff has a tracking spell on me. I'll let the ministry take care of him, and I'm heading over to someone who will take it off," Harry said calmly. "Oh and Hermione, I'll go to St. Mungos after if it really bothers you that much."

Hermione and Molly aggressively nodded which caused Harry to sigh.

There was a loud Crack, and Harry was gone.

"And I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to be spending a lot of time with the Weasleys in the next year," Draco muttered to himself while looking at the kitchen with every thing squished in to barely fit.

"What was that dear?" Molly asked.

Draco's cheeks flared up slightly. "Nothing."

"Oh well, lets get you out of that towel, and into some better clothes." taking another look at him she continued, "and oh dear we need to get some food into you. Does Harry even feed you? I'm going to be having a stern talking to with that boy! Oh dear! You're shivering! Lets get you a warm bath before you get sick Draco dear."

Draco did not know what to do with someone constantly worrying about him over nothing. Somehow he felt uncomfortable, yet oddly touched by his family's old enemies. His life had been turned upside down by Harry Potter and his loved ones.
