Taking Chances (Epilogue)
"So, how are classes going?" Duncan's voice came through the computer screen in front of me as he spoke. I smiled at him
"They're great! My roommate is amazing, she has the same taste is classical music as I do. She even used to play the violin!" I said excitedly. Duncan smirked at me.
It's been 2 months since I began school at Oxford. 2 long months since I had to go home and leave Duncan once again. Saying goodbye to him never got any easier. I don't think it ever will.
"Also, she has this adorable British accent that makes me giggle when ever she says the word 'shampoo' because it sounds like 'shampooooh'" I giggled, Duncan chuckled at me
"So I agreed with my Ma, about joining the police academy. I start in a few days, actually." Duncan said. I slowly smiled at him
"Duncan, that's great. You're actually going to become a police officer?" I asked, surprised. Duncan snorted
"Hell no. I'm thinking about getting my Psychology major, Ma said I could become a therapist. That goes to different Juvenal Detention centers in the area and talk to the kids there. See what's going on, maybe it'll do them some good to talk to someone who know's exactly what its like being on the other side of those bars," he said. I kept smiling. He raised a brow at me
"What?" he asked, I leaned in, still smirking
"You're becoming a softy!" I said, laughing. Duncan rolled his eyes. But I slowly calmed down and looked at him
"But in all reality, I'm happy for you, Duncan. You actually have a plan for once! Have I been rubbing off on you?" I questioned.
"I have yet to figure out if that's a good or bad thing.." Duncan mumbled, at that we both laughed. But his laughter died down slowly
"God I miss you, Princess," Duncan said quietly. I smiled sadly
"Only 2 months until I come home for Christmas break. You can wait that long can't you?" I asked. Duncan slowly looked at me
"I guess if I've been waiting my whole life to meet you, I can wait a few more months." he said. My heart fluttered
"Please don't tell anyone I said that, my brother's would never let it down." he said, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly. I giggled
"Your secret is safe with me," I said. Suddenly Duncan's bedroom door flew open. I heard his older brother's loud voice
"AW DUNCAN YOU'RE SO CUTE," He said, I heard him making kissy noises in the back ground. I covered my mouth with a giggle
"DEREK GET OUT!" Duncan yelled, I kept laughing as Derek moved so he stood in front of the camera and waved at me
"Hey Courtney. When you coming home? Duncan over here is annoying me by how much he talks about you," he said. Duncan covered his eyes and growled
"GET OUT!" he yelled. Derek smirked, the very same smirk Duncan had. It must run in the family.
"Did I tell you, that he sleeps with a picture of you under his pillow-"
"OKAY that's enough!" Duncan interrupted him, I saw Duncan roughly push Derek out of his room. Who was laughing the entire time. Duncan slammed the door behind him and slowly sat back down in front of the computer. I gave him a knowing smirk, he sighed
"Don't-"
"So you keep a picture of me under your bed huh?" I asked. Duncan groaned and slammed his head down onto the computer desk. I began laughing.
My dorm room door opened, and my roommate Emily walked in. Her bright curly hair in a heap on top of her head, her pale British skin was shiny. She was studying law like I was.
"Ello Court!" she said, walking over to her side of the dorm. "You wanna head to the library? To study for Midterms?" she asked. I nodded, and slowly turned back to my computer
"Alright, well. I guess this is goodbye?" I said. Duncan shook his head
"Nah, it's an I'll-see-you-later," he said. I nodded. Duncan looked into my eyes
"I love you, Princess," he said. I smiled, relaxing to his words
"I love you too, ogre," I said. And the Skype call ended. I slowly closed my laptop and stood up. I grabbed my jacket
"Ready?" Emily asked. I nodded and we slowly left.
I had no idea where Duncan and I were going. Whether our relationship would last to marriage. But I sure hoped so. I hoped one day I'd wake up, and see him sleeping next to me. As my husband, and possibly even the Father of our children.
Duncan and I took a chance, at love. At us, and no matter what happens in the future, I had him now.
And that's all that really mattered.
THE ENDDDDDD. Thank you so much for those of you who have read my story, It's my first one, can you tell? Comment down below if you would like me to keep up with the Duncney writings. Share my story with your friends.
Total Drama has always been something I've kept close to my heart, even now. when I'm 18 years old and will have to adult soon. I just love the entire idea of Duncan and Courtney. The goody goody and the criminal. Who wouldn't want that?
For those of you who are wondering, YES Jax forgave Duncan. I might even write another story based on these guys in the future, a wedding maybe? *wink wink* and make Jax the best man.
Love you all!
Skye
