Second First Date
"Wait, so you and Duncan are actually back together?" Bridgette squealed as we sat across from one another on her couch. I smiled sheepishly and shrugged
"It kinda just.. Happened. We kissed and-"
"YOU GUYS KISSED!?" Bridgette yelled, a gigantic smile at her lips. I rolled my eyes
"Yes. Twice. Then he walked me home." I said. Bridgette grabbed my hands
"Aw! I knew you guys would get back together! Even though I'm still angry with him for the whole cheating thing. But I guess if you could brush it off then I surely could."
"Ehh, I wouldn't really say I brushed it off. I'm slowly forgiving him, it'll take time. We have a lot of work to do to make this relationship work. But if he's willing to try, so am I." I said, she smiled warmly at me. But slowly her smile faded
"What do you think your Mother is going to say?" she asked, I swallowed hard
"I-I'm not sure. I haven't even figured out how I'm going to tell Jax yet. It sucks Duncan and I have to lay low for a while, but just until the press isn't on our tail. Who knows how long that will take." I sighed, she nodded and slowly stood up
"Well, I'll be here to help whenever you need it girly. Don't doubt it." she said "And no matter what happens, I'm happy for you. As long as he doesn't hurt you again."
"I'd be a complete fool If I let that happen again," Duncan's voice rang in my ears as he walked through the front door with Geoff.
"Babe!" Geoff yelled loudly to Bridgette. Who smiled lovingly at him
"Geoffykins!" she cried and run over to him and threw her arms around his shoulders. Duncan and I gagged when they began making out. He walked over to me and stretched a hand down
"Let's never be like them," He said as he pulled me up. I giggled
"I have no intention to be," I said. We slowly walked into the kitchen, past the couple sticking their tongues down each other's throats. I opened the fridge
"You want a water?" I asked, as Duncan hoped up onto the counter
"Nah, I may or may not have had a beer or two." he confessed. I closed the fridge and shot him a glare, he put his hands up in defense
"Easy there Princess, I'm not tipsy or anything. I could down 2 beers in my sleep." he said. I rolled my eyes as I twisted the top off of my water, and took a sip
"Ogre," I mumbled. He chuckled
"Never thought I'd miss hearing you say that," he laughed. I leaned up against the counter
"Get used to it, now that I'm back so are all of my insults. Ogre." I said. Duncan rolled his eyes and slowly looked down
"How many more days you you got here?" He asked, I bit my lip
"2 more weeks. Then it's off to-"
"Oxford," he finished for me. I nodded and looked at him as he ran a hand through his jet black hair
"God, how did this get so hard?" He asked, I rubbed my arm absently
"I'm not really sure. I guess we're just growing up. We aren't sixteen anymore Duncan," I said quietly.
"Yeah, no kidding. You know... My Ma told me there was an opening at the Academy. That I could go there any time I wanted." I smiled
"Duncan, that's great! I think you'd make an excellent police officer," I said. He smirked slowly
"It's so ironic. Me becoming the very same thing I had ran away from so many times before." he said. I slowly walked over and placed a hand on his strong chest. He slowly raised his deathly beautiful teal eyes to meet my onyx ones.
"Everything about us is ironic. You just have to learn to get used to it," I whispered. Duncan leaned in and nipped at my bottom lip. I giggled quietly
"Hey, let's go out. We need an official second first date," he said. I sighed and pulled away
"We can't, remember? Not with the press watching every little thing we do. If they see us at some romantic restaurant they'd eat it up like Owen and a piece of chocolate cake," I said. Duncan slowly looked at me, and I saw the corners of his mouth lift, into an almost evil looking smirk
"Who said anything about a restaurant?"
I looked at the giant crowd of people in front of me, dancing on each other like they we're glued together. It reminded me of a disgusting horror movie Duncan made me watch once. I watched as the DJ played numerous songs I had never heard before, and neon lights flickered. Making the fog in the room look like it was full of color. I slowly looked at Duncan
"Okay, this is so not what I had planned for our second first date!" I snapped. He smirked at me, he was dressed in a sexy black dress shirt. That had the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and the top two buttons were undone, revealing part of his incredibly toned chest. His hair was jelled back again, I would be lying if I said he didn't look drop dead sexy right now.
Me? Yeah. Not so much. I was dressed in a emerald green sweater, with black skinny jeans. My hair was pushed back with a black headband, and I was wearing simple black flats on my feet.
From the looks of many of the other girls at this club, clothes weren't exactly a must. Most of them had dresses that barley covered their asses. And their skin was covered in this gross looking sparkle dust. It made their skin look greasy. I never understood it.
"Oh come on darling, it could be worse." Duncan yelled over the music. I slowly looked at him, a look of disgust on my face
"Not really. I wish you had told me so I didn't look so stupid compared to all of the rest of the girls here," I yelled back, looking down at my conservative outfit. I felt Duncan's hands slowly slide around my wrist, and his chin brush against my temple
"Princess, you're the most beautiful girl in the room." he whispered into my ear. Making shivers run down my spine, a blush slowly flooded my cheeks.
"I mean, I'd tap that." Duncan said once he pulled away. I growled and whacked his arm roughly
"Way to ruin a moment," I snapped. He snickered.
"Let's dance," he said, and dragged me out onto the dance floor. I swallowed hard as I noticed people staring. I only imagined their thoughts.
"What is she doing with him?"
"Is she lost?"
"Is that Courtney from Total Drama? She's such a bitch!"
I whimpered quietly as Duncan slowly turned to face me. He was a few inches taller, so he had to look down at me.
"Babe, relax." he whispered, noticing my tension. I dropped my shoulders and slowly looked up at him.
"Hey good looking. How about you leave that prude and come enjoy a real woman," a husky voice said behind us. I whipped my head around to see a slutty looking blonde smirking at Duncan.
My Duncan.
I snarled and slowly turned all the way towards her, she was also taller than me. But I didn't care
"Listen here you bimbo. I may be a 'prude' but don't flatter yourself by calling yourself a 'real woman.' You may have bigger boobs than me, might be taller, but I can damn well guarantee you can't tell the difference between a Psychology textbook and a Literature textbook. Even though they aren't anything alike. I bet you can't even tell me the difference between secondary and primary colors, can you?" I snapped. She stared at me
"Look here, you bitch-"
"Shut up, and go back to your pimp. I'm sure he's wondering where you are," I growled and yanked a stunned looking Duncan away. Towards the bar.
"Damn Princess. Is it wrong that I really want to make out with you right now?" Duncan asked, I rolled my eyes and looked at him
"Shut up, you Ogre," I said and slowly kissed him.
Maybe this 'second first date' wasn't as bad as I thought.
