12 - Letting Go (✓)

Barry's P.O.V

I'm so glad Scarlett is alright, I feel as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. But I don't think her or Wally should fight crime with me. I'm just trying to protect both of them.

Seeing Scarlett get hurt finally made me realize, it's time for me to let them go. The League and I have been talking, and they said that they think their sidekicks should get a promotion. So, we all agree that we should start a team of sidekicks. The team will be called Young Justice.

It will start out with only a few members at first, then overtime we will add more teammates. We are just going to start out with a few at first though. I talked with Iris about it, and she agrees. She thinks Scarlett will be safer with more people who are around her age. I'm happy that I have someone like her who agrees with me.

Now it's up to me to tell them both. I'm nervous about doing so, because Scarlett just recovered and they both just went back to school for the first time. I don't want to ruin the excitement of being back to training and everything. but I can't help but worry about both of them. On the bright side, I'll still be able to see both of them and Scarlett's still going to be living with Iris and I.

But this decision that I'm making, it's for the best. So, I'm telling them today. After Cisco showed me the new suit he made for me, I went over to do it. I walked over to see them having fun while training. They were laughing, something that always makes me happy is hearing my daughter's laughter. It only made me more confident about my decision.

"Hey guys, can I talk to you?" I questioned, walking in to the room.

"Sure!" They both replied simultaneously.

"So, I've been thinking and I think you guys shouldn't be my sidekicks anymore." I stated, and they looked at me in shock.

"But why?" Scarlett asked because Wally was too shocked to say anything.

"Because, I think you deserve more. That's why we are starting up a team, a team of people all your age. It's called Young Justice."

Wally just continued to stare at me, dumbfounded while Scarlett took in this information.

"Why are you letting go of us like this?" Wally questioned, confusion lacing his voice.

"I'm only trying to do what's best."

"Alright, I'll go." They both said at the same time. This making me happy that they were agreeing to this.

"Who else is on the team?" Scarlett asked curiously.

"Robin, Aqualad, Superboy, Artemis, and Miss Martian."

"Good, I'm not going to be stuck with a bunch of boys." Scarlett said, letting out a sigh of relief.

"We are also trying to convince another girl to join as well, but she still needs some convincing."

"Who is it?" Wally questioned.

"Her name is Ocean." I informed. "She's Aquaman's daughter and her dad is still trying to convince her."

"Has she ever been anywhere other than Atlantis?" Scarlett asked.

"No." I replied "But enough about her, I'm not supposed to talk about it. You're meeting the team tomorrow."

"Great." Scarlett exclaimed.

"Awesome." Wally corrected.
