This mission was suicide, but I didn't care. I just wanted my daughter back.

I was at the edge of the Black Lagoon forest when the same guy that was with Baka appeared from behind some trees as if sent there to greet me.

He knows I'm here.

Without a word, he escorts me to an opening. It was the Black Lagoon.

I looked to my right, still open training ground. To my left, still our home. That son of a bitch!

"Mom," Nalu sounded weak and tired.

I turned to see her covered head to toe in blood and seringes.

"Nalu!" I screamed.

She looked up, slowly and exhausted.

"Mom, I tried to stay strong, but it was just...too...much..."

Her voice, rough and scratchy like she had been screaming non-stop for hours.

I ran over to her, stumbling as I went. I craddled her cheek in the palm of my hand like I used to do when she was little when she got scared. Her eyes were dull, much unlike her normal vibrant green color that always twinkled and sparkled.

I couldn't stop the tears from coming when I lifted her face to see her eyes scarred, her dull green eyes frightening when I realized how horrible the situation really was.

"Mom, is that you? I can't see you!" she had paniked.

"Yeah, I'm right here! I promise, it's gonna be fine!"

Nalu was totally and completely blind from whatever torture that bastard put her through.

"No, it's not!" she stated.

"What do you mean? I'm gonna get you out of here and you're going to go home!" I tried to sound chirpy.

"No! You don't understand! He's gonna kill us both!" she screamed.

I froze dead in my tracks.

"Wh-what?"

Suddenly, Nalu screamed in pain as a needle seringe shot out of nowhere, stabbing her in the shoulder.

"Oops! My, my! We don't need anymore spoilers now do we Dragneel?"

I just stood in disbelief at the shadow that emerged. It was Baka. Tears continued to flow down my cheeks.

"You..." I began clenching my fists.

He perked up, Nalu pinned to the wall in such extreme pain, I was beyond furious.

I charged full force.

"You bastard!"
