The hospital is a blur of noise and urgency, Harry and Scott can feel it from the waiting room. Drew and Edward organise a change of clothes for both boys and they change into black swat tracksuits so they are warm and comfortable.

Andy comes out a few hours later, letting the boys know they are still stabilising Louis and it will be a while before he will be able to report anything else.

"Andy, please, you have to make sure he's okay" Harry pleads and Andy's heart breaks

"Harry, I will do everything I can, I promise you" Andy reassures

"We love him Andy, he's ours, we need him" Scott adds desperately

"Boys you have my word okay, trust me and my team, we've got him" Andy says and he leaves to go back to Louis.

The boys end up falling asleep on each other in the waiting room. They are exhausted and they make Drew and Edward promise to wake them if they hear anything.

It's four hours later when Andy comes out once again. Drew and Edward shaking the boys awake gently

They are up out of their seats instantly

"Is he okay?" They both asks

"He's stable" Andy says and the boys relax.

Andy gestures for them to sit down and they do, Andy sitting opposite them

"He's suffered hypothermia which we're treating, it took us a while to get his body temp stable but we're confident we're on top of it now. He has the early signs of Pneumonia which we are treating with antibiotics" Andy starts

"Okay, that's good, he will be okay right" Scott asks

"We're on top of everything so he should make a full recovery, there may be some complications but he's in the right place" Andy tells the boys

"And his arm, is it okay? Harry says worriedly

"He has a few physical injuries we had to treat, his broken arm we had to re break and cast as it was damaged again, he's broken a few more ribs and his arm needed surgery to repair the cut as it was extremely severe. He's got a lot of cuts and bruises so he will be sore, he will be feeling like rubbish for a while I'm afraid" Andy says sympathetically

"But he's okay?" Scott makes sure

"He's okay, he will have to stay for a little while and I know he's not going to respond well to that, I've called Kim in and she will be here soon to see him and hopefully help him through dealing with having to stay" Andy says

"Thanks Andy" Harry says

"You can both stay, I've made a bed up, that should help him too" Andy says smiling slightly

"Thank you" Scott says

"Is he awake? Can we see him?" Harry asks

"We aren't keeping him under anymore but he's had surgery and will be a bit groggy and out of it with the drugs, but he should wake up soon, it's best if you're both there when he does" Andy says

The boys nod thankful they can be with Louis. Edward and Drew decide to head out and leave the boys with Louis. They promise to be back in the morning with supplies for them all.

Andy leads Harry and Scott to Louis room and when they see him so tiny on the bed, hooked up to a drip and oxygen, his arm in a bandage they vow to absolutely never let a single bad thing happen to their boy again.

Harry and Scott sit next to Louis bed, one on either side and hold his hands. The room is nice and big with windows that make the room a little brighter even though the sky outside is dark and rainy.

Scott reaches out and swipes Louis fringe off his forehead. The boys both feel a protection they've never felt before, they've always wanted to keep Louis safe, but this goes deeper.

"He looks so small" Harry says

"I hate seeing him like this" Scott says

"I love him Scotty, so much, I don't want to ever go through losing him again" Harry says vulnerably

"I know babe, we've got him, we will protect him. I don't want to let him out of our sights again" Scott stays

Louis then stirs on the bed, he's so sore and tired and feels like he's been hit by a truck

"Hey there baby" Scott says when Louis eyes land on his

"Scott" Louis says

"Yeah baby, I'm here darling" Scott tells him as he strokes his head.

Louis then turns his head and sees Harry

"Hi sweetheart" Harry says smiling

"Harry" Louis says and he lets a tear slip

"Ohh darling, everything's okay now, it's okay to cry but we're here okay, we aren't going anywhere" Harry says gently

"I don't want to do this again" Louis says brokenly

The boys hearts break for him

"We know baby, we know, we're here this time okay. We aren't leaving, we will be by your side the whole time okay" Scott tells him

"I don't want to be alone" Louis says

"You won't be, at all, we promise. Andy is letting us stay okay, we will be here" Harry says

"I don't want to stay" Louis says as he sits up.

"Baby, we know you don't but you're sick and you need the hospitals care right now" Scott says

"As soon as you're able to come home we will get you there, we promise" Harry says

"I don't like this, please" Louis pleads.

"Oh baby, we're so sorry" Harry says and Louis let's his tears fall.

Andy then walks into the room with Kimberly behind him.

Kimberly takes one look at Louis before her maternal instincts take over and she's walking straight over

"Oh darling boy, come here, it's okay" she says gently

The boys watch on as Kimberly sits on Louis bed and envelopes him in a huge cuddle of protection. Louis hasn't had anything like this since his mum died and he latches on to Kimberly and she holds him so tightly

"It's okay sweetheart, let go kiddo we're all here for you, just let go" Kimberly says and Louis does. He just cries and cries.

Kimberly let's a few tears escape and notices the boys are all wiping their eyes too.

Louis pulls back and Kimberly wipes his eyes

"We will get you through this okay" she tells Louis gently

"Please Kim, don't make me stay" Louis says as he sniffles

"I can't overrule it kiddo, you know that, you're sick and without the hospitals medicine and machines you wouldn't do so well" Kimberly tries to reason

Louis looks down at his hands and tries to steady his breathing

"Let's talk it through okay" Kimberly says

Louis shakes his need no

"Andy" Kimberly says

Andy then comes over to sit on the other side of Louis facing him.

Harry and Scott then sit next to Louis, on either side of him, showing him they are there for him.

"You think I'm going to keep you here and not let you go home?" Andy says

Louis takes a deep breath and looks to Andy

"I feel trapped again" Louis says shakily

"Good boy Lou" Kimberly says

"I know it's hard when you can't control what's happening, but you're quite sick kiddo. Your lungs wouldn't cope without the oxygen and medication, and your body temp is still up and down" Andy says

"What if I get so sick that I can't ever leave the hospital" Louis asks, trying not to het himself worked up.

"What did we talk about last time? There's nothing that would keep you here forever, that hasn't changed. You just need rest and pain relief, you need to leave the worrying to us" Andy tells him.

"Can you tell me how long I need to stay?" Louis asks

"If there's no complications and you're healing then two weeks tops" Andy says and Louis looks to Harry and Scott as if asking for their reassurance that they will be with him

"We're here, however long you're here baby, one or both of us will be here with you" Harry says gently

"Now, I'm going to give you some pain relief and a relaxant to help you heal and your job is to sleep and relax, watch as much Netflix as you like okay" Andy says and Louis half smiles at that

"We will talk about what happened another day okay, we can start sessions again and talk it all through, but when you're feeling a little better okay" Kim says smiling

"Thank you" Louis says sincerely

"Don't tell anyone else that you're our favourite and would do anything for you" Kimberly says as she smirks and winks at Louis, which causes him to blush and smile

Andy and Kimberly get up and Andy administers Louis some pain relief and a relaxant. They tell Harry and Scott they will be back later and leave the room.

Louis feels pretty good as Harry and Scott sit on his right side, Scott holding Louis hand and Harry running his hand through Louis hair in comfort,

"Please don't get sick of me and think I'm a burden" Louis whispers as he looks at them both

"Oh baby, absolutely never, we love you so much Louis and will be here for you through everything" Scott says

"You love me " Louis asks

"We didn't want to say it like this but we regretted not telling you sooner, we love you Louis, so much" Harry says

Louis smiles wide

"I love you both too" He says cutely and Harry and Scott smile 

"Rest baby, we will be here when you wake" Scott tells him as he kisses Louis head and Louis falls asleep peacefully.
