WALKING BARBIE WANTED
Scarlett steps forward with confidence, she's indeed what you call a walking Barbie a fake one of course. They don't want me to the looks of it, they want her. Their grimacing looks gave the idea of who they wanted, the disgusted faces, their body posture that was ready at any given moment to beat the life out of me didn't even go unnoticed.
Though I had no way of getting out of this godforsaken room my brain was racing for ways out. Thinking about the outcome of one of them not being that evil to spare me but all of them weren't merciful at all. They're only four of them, I could easily ignore them until Vincent gets here or just ignore them but that'd be disrespectful, even speaking to them might be disrespectful something tells me their all liars. Menacing ones too.
I'm harmless that's how I've described myself as, a gentle flower, loving, caring, and Scarlett the witch, what could they possibly like about her she's a bitch it's evident on her face and even the way she dresses. I know their's one person that despises her and that's Vincent, it's pretty much evident recalling their last counter and the thought had me growing angry.
That bitch slapped me, and she'll pay.
"So you're the fiance, what do you want with my son?" I snapped my head to Vincent's mother unbelievable what could I possibly want your son he's an ass.
"What do you mean what do I want I'm not with your son for just fame unlike some people" I composed myself and looked directly at my rival. It left an effect on her, I watched as she sunk her nails in the chair that she was now occupying. Of course, I'm not going to let this girl torment me and get away with it, whatever happened between her and Vincent I'm not going to be blamed for it. "Who exactly are you directing this answer to? There's no way my son a billionaire wants an amateur like you," I clenched my jaw forcing out a smile, they want a reaction out of me something I won't possibly give them.
Her son is just like her attack the weak but I'm not letting my guard down. I see why I don't like these people at first glance, their arrogance get the best of them and the money. Riches is not what I aim for, and it seems they take me as a gold digger.
"It's impossible mom! Vincent would never think about getting married to her just look at how she looks she's ugly," One of the sisters rambled about while the other nodded her head in agreement looking at me in pure disgust. I wouldn't say the same thing about her.
She screamed I stood calmly stopping myself from covering my heart from her screeching, these spoilt rich kids. Vincent acts far different from them and I can't comprehend how he managed with all of these people, this home is totally not welcoming at all I just knew that something bad was going to happen I felt it at the pit of my stomach.
"Are you pregnant? Are you trying to frame my son because if it's money you want I can give it to you" She spat at me disgust covering her features, incredible this is what I wanted all along being accused of false pregnancy and lying to her son about it? First I'm being addressed as a goal digger now this? What else is me being the one to let him die? Or having his company go through bankruptcy, I doubt that would ever happen.
"Melissa go get my bag so I can give her money, she's making everything look ugly around me," She has the nerve. I've seen enough to know that there's more than what meets the eye, she hasn't seen anything her cruelty is nothing compared to what of my parents. Every word that left her lips stung only fueling the fire that burned inside of me. Every violated phrase was like gasoline to it, my fists began to clench and my jaw rooted.
"There's no require for that mother," I knew that it was in fact him by the swap in everyone's behavior but I stood my ground, whatever the outcome might be I'll defend myself at any cost. The smell of his cologne afflicts my nose something I rather defined as masculinity.
My wandering gaze came up to his face warmth immediately shooting up my spine once he locked our fingers together. We aren't always this close but the little gesture of affections he showed towards me had my heart becoming warmer. I know this is a big mistake something I'm trying to negotiate on what I truly want between my heart and my mind.
"Vincent I see you've brought the finacé of yours," his hands got a bit tight in mines then slowly loosen them once he saw the look I gave him. "Her names Laura and that's how she will be addressed, not the finacé or anything else if she's not welcomed here then I don't see why I'm here," He turned around bringing me with him to leave but was forced to come to halt.
"Vincent wait! I apologize she's always welcome here". The heat in her voice, as if her heartbeat so rapidly ready to kill, even though she took a different view from Vincent's own. She simply said this was her way of doing things.
"Mom I've stood right there and listened you disrespect her, you do owe her an apology," His hold became even tighter this time. By the disbelief look on everyone's face, they actually didn't believe if their ears were playing tricks on them or not. "Mom is not apologizing to that- that thing right there!" The older sister screamed glaring at Vincent as a challenge. Now that he's here and doing this I can come to terms on who has the upper hand.
"She doesn't deserve anything, that bitch took my spot-" Scarlett was cut off midsentence by the echoing of Vincent's voice leaving the room dead silent. "Enough!"
"I've listened to everyone's crap now it's my time to speak," he let go of my hand and stepped closer to them his chest heaving anger present with every stride he takes. "Disrespect is one thing I never tolerated but going as far to disrespect my wife-"
"She's not your wife," Scarlett screamed catching everyone off-guard. She knows speaking back was a bad idea but despite his orders, she disobeyed him. "If you want that head of yours intact on your body I'd shut my mouth if I were you!" She opened her mouth to protest but was left dumbfounded as no words were left for her to say.
"Not one of you in this family will speak anything disrespectful towards my wife there will be consequences great consequences, I will even go out the way to have all of going to prison if I hear one rude comment towards her!" His posture remained still strong his body towering Scarlett clenching his fist. "And as for you, you never had a spot in my life there was only one person and it will remain that way." So there is someone in his life, why do I feel so betrayed that I know nothing of this person.
"I apologize, Laura," my eyes went wide by the apology, she actually did apologize but not because she wanted but because of her son's orders. He actually does have the upper hand to let things go his way.
He grabbed my hands and walked out the room leaving everyone dumbfounded by the mother's word of apology. I was left with my thoughts thinking about whom might be that person. "You okay?" I gave a quick sitting on the bed looking around the room my eyes lands on Vincent. There goes that expression on his face that I failed to read again, his eyes stood frozen on my face his gaze never leaving mine. His eyes were something that captivates your soul, pull your mind, body, and soul apart leaving you hopeless at your knees.
"You know what's going to happen now?" He took steps towards me I had no way of escaping if I dare tried to move he would have me pinned against the wall. Once he was facing me I had to draw my face back from the immense heat that was radiating of him. It continued like that until my back hit the bed our face only inches. "What" I stuttered.
His face drew closer brushing his breath fanning my face I won't lie this time if he kissed me I won't hesitate to kiss him back. He leaned in closer his lips just millimeters apart when the knock on the door jerked us apart. "What!" He shouted at the person whosoever knocked he sounded irritated already by them.
"Dinner's ready," He sighed holding out his hands for me to take it, slipping my hands in his that fitted perfectly we exit room passing Scarlett on the way like she didn't even exist. While walking down the stairs he leaned over whispering the next thing that had my cheeks flushing. "Don't think we are finished."
************************
Dinner was awkward, if this is what dinner should be like I'd skip it any day just to die from starvation.
Vincent was angry I felt the tension, it has to be something that had happened between his family and Scarlett and to the looks of it that mistake and angered his being. It was very obvious that they had something going on but I was much curious about when it ended was it because of that person who says that only has a place in his heart. Maybe she did something, I can't really blame him. I'm positively sure it's her at fault she wouldn't be chasing after him if he had done something like this. Or would he?
So many secrets, so many dead ends.
I gulped down on my saliva looking at the poor steak that Scarlett managed to bore several holes in. Her eyes were looking directly at me buy her gaze shifted from an angry one to somewhat cunning and I'm afraid something's going to happen which ain't exactly good.
"Marvin your here!" I darted my eyes in the direction she was looking to see someone that looked somewhat identical to Vincent but the only difference was his blond hair, must be there cousin I heard Melissa kept rambling about earlier.
"Yes I'm here and who is this lovely lady?" There was a Marvin took my hand trying to kiss it but quickly I pulled it away kicking him in the process I watched as he fell to the floor groaning something about him just reminds me of my father, dark, dirty, and filthy.
Gasped could be heard and the screaming of Melissa, what's with this girl and screaming. The other sister played in her food quite annoyed by what's taking place, Vincent's mother slipped off her chair and turned down a hallway. The others were still looking down at a now crying Marvin.
"What the fuck bitch why'd you do that!" Marvin yelled rolling on the floor holding on to his crotch. Pain evidently written across his features, a smile of satisfaction tugged at the side of Vincent's lips that had me smiling too.
"You touched something that wasn't yours so you had to pay the price," Vincent growled getting up making a step to grab a hold of Marvin who drew backward to avoid him, in a quick motion I grabbed his hand and pulled him back to stop whatever torment he was going to do.
"How could you do this Vincent, we were supposed to get married. Not you and that thing we grew up together to love each other what could you possibly like about her-" Scarlett kept screaming, I could try and convince myself that her being racist let an effect on me was true but it isn't. She's a selfish bitch.
"Enough! You dare to talk about her like that again," He slammed his hands on the table letting cups and plates falling to the floor cause a be rampage and ruining dinner. This wasn't even going like a real family dinner it was just a disaster. "You betrayed me and what I see in her is more than I ever saw in you, do you see her skin something you can never have. It's good." He grabbed my hands while we head upstairs. I was puzzled what could she possibly do to him I knew something happened but what could it be.
I didn't want to snoop around at all, but the secrets that they're keeping hidden have me want to intervene and listen to every little bit of drama they have going on. Pity they keep speaking in tongues which awfully annoys me.
