Chapter 7- The Wolf, The Rabbit, And The Hybrid

Jack looked at Legoshi as the two of them walked down the hall. After their little talk in the empty pool, Legoshi seemed a little, more down than usual.
"To be honest, you looked drained these days, so I was worried. Were you inspired by something?" He asked the wolf.
"oh... uh... I don't really know," Legoshi pondered. Jack hummed and put his finger and his chin.

"Could it be... You fell in love?" Jack guessed. That made Legoshi stop in his tracks and he felt his face heat up. Jack didn't noticed and skipped down the hall.
"Oh my tail is swinging maybe I'm in love. Le le, Legoshi. Le le le-" He stopped and turned around realizing he was right.
"Are you serious?! For 17 years, you weren't in love! You really have changed!" Jack exclaimed with a big teasing smile.

"Lets just hurry up to class," Legoshi ignored his friend and quickly walked through the halls as Jack kept on asking questions.

'Jack I think we both know it's someone we both like,'

Elephant head:
Any leads so far (Y/N)?

You:
I have a few, I'll send you the information about them.

Elephant head:
Great. You're doing great so far, I understand what happened. And remember this is your final case.

"Oh trust me, I can't wait for this to be over," You mumbled to yourself as you texted Kora about your investigation. You leaned against your bed framed and looked out the window to see Legoshi and his buds in their underwear and grooming. You quickly looked away and sighed.

'(F/N), I really wish you were here,'

"Just like last year, we were invited to participate in the Festival of the Meteor again," Sanu exclaimed as everyone cheered. You simply hummed as you sat with the rest of the art department near a wall. Others talked about going out to the city without a permit.
"Now remember everyone, this isn't just for fun, we're doing this for the Festival," Sanu settled everyone down.

"Looks like the art department is going to be busy this year, let's talk about it in the warehouse," Dom sighed as the rest of you groan.
'We better get to go out in the city, maybe I can witness others behaviors to close in on my suspects,' You thought as you looked around at the sculptures.
"We can't use the same work we did last year," You heard Dom say.

"Why dinosaurs anyways? Can't we pick something easier?" Kai whined.
"It wouldn't be called the Festival of the Meteor if we do other animals Kai. Dinosaurs are the ancestors of all animals, and are treated as god," You explained as he tsked.
"It all started when a meteor wiped out all of them years ago," He explained.

"They say it's a festival where we welcome the ghosts of the extinct dinosaurs, but no one cares about that. Everyone's just looking forward to the lighting ceremony on the last day." Kibi piped up.
"They say that if a couple places a lighted candle on the meteor, they'll be together forever, or so they say," He shrugged. You crossed your arms over your chest and looked down.

"What's wrong (Y/N)? Can't handle love stuff?" Kai asked teasingly as you all walked down a street. You glared at him and sighed.
"I experienced love before, and I gotta say, it's weird," You told him looking at you ladybug toy.
"It's just an event for social animals anyways," Kai said.
"I'm sure all the actors will be busy after the event, partying with their lovers," He scoffed.

They ended up talking about random stuff as you walked behind them, then suddenly stopping.
"(Y/N)?" Fudge asked a little concerned.
"I forgot something in my dorm, I'll catch to you guys later," You excused yourself and turn to run. Legoshi staring as you ran off.

'What's going on with me?'

"Harlequin Rabbits are one step further of extinction because of sluts like you!" You heard a high pit voice sneer. You turn the corner to see Haru being cornered by three other students. You felt your predatorial instincts trying to claw its way to protect Haru, but you shoved it away.
'Haru said she doesn't need help, that she isn't helpless, but why did I came here?' You thought.

Your thoughts were stopped by the Harlequin rabbit pulling on her ears, which made you to run over.
"Hey!" The four stopped and look up to see you.
"Oh? And who's this? This must be the new exchange student." She cooed. You internally growled and flared at her.
"Let go of my friend right now?" You threatened.

"Friend? With the slut? What a joke!" She cackled, her friends laughed too. You ripped her hands away from Haru and you looked at her with a look of 'you want me to deal with them?'. She shook her head and mumbled.
"I got this," She winked, making your face heat up and nod.

"I have some advice for your poor soul." She smirked.
"You already lost. In the game of love, the more desperate you are, the more you lose. You can keep fighting for nothing. I'll watch you from afar so please, continue," Haru scolded them. You watch in awe as the three slowly took a step back with a scared expression.

"I have nothing to lose. Unlike you, I have freedom!" She finally yelled. The three students ran away.
"Did I go too far?" She asked putting her ear back.
"No that was awesome," You said with a smile.
"Go get eaten alive!" The Harlequin rabbit yelled out. The two do you got confused and turn to see Legoshi staring down at you two.

"Legoshi," You said a little surprised that he followed you here. He said nothing as he stood there. Haru turned and sighed at the fallen flowers.
"I didn't really needed help you know, you could've leave me alone," Haru mumbled picking up the flowers. When she reached to pick one up, you gave it to her.

"That might've been true, but no one messes with a friend of mine," You said. Haru get something in her chest.
'What the... whenever a male helps me, I feel like they offended me, but when it comes to (Y/N), I feel as though she's not doing it out of pity,' Haru thought as you saw a familiar wolf hand picking up another flower.
"Are you two okay?" He asked.

Haru furrowed her eyebrows and took your hand.
"I appreciate the thought, but I don't want mercy form makes I slept with," She huffed, trying to walk away, but Legoshi put a hand against the wall, making you and Haru jump slightly.
'Legoshi what are you doing?' You thought as he stammered.
"W-we never really did anything," He realized that he did and mumbled out a sorry, moving out the way.

'The way he stares at her, does he like her? That's cute,' You thought happily, then thought of something else.
'Wait, how would that work? A wolf and a rabbit? I mean, my parents were a Red panda and a Fox, so I guess it wouldn't be weird. But I mean, Legoshi tried to eat Haru, does that mean that mom tried to eat dad before?' You got interrupted by Haru pulling on your hand.

"Come on (Y/N), we're going to each dinner together," She smiled. Legoshi felt his hand twitch as he saw your hand with hers.
'This feeling, she shouldn't touch (Y/N) like that,' He thought, but shook it away.

'But... I want to hold them both...'

Under your clothes, you have fox patterns and your eyes aren't the same like fudge's. Your ears are similar to a fox's. You also file your teeth at night, a little tingly, but other than you you make the best to try and hide your fox like features.
