{TW: Blood (a lot less than most of mine, lol)}

Yawning in exhaustion, Grian stretched pale arms and rested against the narrow cave's wall.

"Been a successful mine. Wanna head back up?" asked Mumbo, clutching a pile of redstone as he gestured towards the stairway up.

"You go. I'll be up in a sec," replied his shorter friend, flicking a glowing firefly away from his face. Smiling warmly at him, his mustached friend nodded and trekked up the cobbled stairs. As soon as he was out of sight, Grian dropped his shoulders and slumped against the wall. Sighing, he removed his  elytra and stared at it with sorrowful cerulean eyes.

Booming thuds made his jolt forward in alarm, knocking his head on the wall in front of his face. Blood dripped into his eyes, but he just glimpsed a flash of light and outstretched hand before it all went black.

Cold air woke Grian from his choking slumber.

"YOU'RE OKAY!" exclaimed a delighted voice, and strong arms trapped him where he sat.

"Mumbo, what in the world just happened?"

"Well you hadn't come out for a while so I went to check. Then the ground started shaking and I heard an explosion, so I dug down where I was and managed to get you out before the cave-in."

"What caused it?"

"We don't know. All we know is you're safe."

Blue eyes slid over his redstone-dust-covered friend's blissful expression; what would they say if they knew? Would they hate him? Feel bad for him? Do the same that everyone else once did?

A sudden 'blip!' disrupted his chain of thoughts and he glanced down at his communicator.

<MumboJumbo:> Grian's okay!

<PearlescentMoon:> Great, could we meet at the Boatem Hole? I saw something interesting

<GoodTimesWithScar:> yup, on my way

<ImpulseSV:> got nothing else to do

<MumboJumbo:> yea

<Grian:> i'll be there

As he re-equipped his elytra, freezing fear wrapped lashing tentacles around him. Did they know?

A/N: Hello, my friends, I have returned from my brief death. I want to write longer chapters but I write these up on a skinny notepad first so they look longer than they are. Also expect lots of similar length chapters, although they will hopefully get longer. Have fun, and don't let The Entity bite you while you sleep.
