[Kat's POV]

     It was early winter, and Monkey was walking to school with me.

"So... I've heard that you've been seen talking with that delinquent girl~!"

     She said curiously.

"Yeah. Midnight was actually a close friend of mine back in elementary school, but when she transferred, her middle school years changed her. She's so... Intimidating... Now. I've wanted to ask about what happened, but honestly, I don' think she'd tell me. We don't talk much anymore. I don't even know if she likes me... She's become pretty unreadable."

     I explained, Monkey listening intently as usual. And before I knew it, Midnight had walked past us, black hood up and also black bag slung over her shoulder. I hesitated before calling out to my old friend.

"M-Midnight!"

     The tall figure froze, then kept walking. I pouted.

"Hey Middy! Dontchu walk away from your mother like that!"

     Midnight froze again, before bursting out in laughter. Once she calmed, she turned back to us, her bangs covering one eye. She had somewhat of a smile playing her lips, it almost looked like a smirk. We walked up, the girl's figure only getting more intimidating and evil as we approached. She had a demon vibe.

[Monkey's POV]

     So this was Kat's old best friend. A delinquent. Cool? I don't really know how to feel. Midnight leaned down to my height.

"Hey smol, are you falling for the delinquent already~?"

     Oh crap! I didn't even notice that I was staring!

     Midnight burst out laughing, as my cheeks heated up.

"Oh, that's cute!"

     She teased, chuckling. Only when my cheeks heated up did I realize how cold I was, and I shuddered.

"Monkey, are you cold?"

     Kat asked, smiling a bit. I nodded. Midnight rolled her eyes, pulling off her hoodie to reveal- goddamnit more black.It was a black t-shirt. She held it out to me, and I rejected.

"You'll be even colder than I a-"

     She almost harshly pushed it into my hands.

"Take my goddamn jacket."

     And with that, Midnight turned away and began walking off.

"I'll talk to you dorks later."

     Hesitantly, I put on the black hoodie. I was overwhelmed with the scent of old spice and... faintly, I could smell... Chocolate cake..?

"Monkeyyyyy~!"

    I turned to face Kat, who was smiling devilishly.

"W-what?"

    She giggled.

"I think I have a new ship~!"
