Stupid

"Isabelle let's go!" Jack called out to the youngest Lightwood at the institute who was in her room.  She came out the room twirling a white wig on her hand with a smirk.

"Hey there big bros," She said to the two boys in the hall.  Alec and Jack Lightwood, Jack wasn't actually a Lightwood but they had no last name for him so they tacked it on at the end.

"Really?" Alec and Jack ask at the same time at the sight of the wig.

"What can I say?  Demons dig blondes," Isabelle said and Jack nodded in agreement.

"Of course they do," Alec began, trailing off so Jack can finish.

"But that's white," Jack told the girl who rolled her eyes at the two best friends.

"Platinum and they don't exactly like Shakespear, okay, you two?" She said as they stepped into a new part of the institute.

"You're plenty distracting on your own," Jack told her and Alec nodded in agreement.

"So, be yourself.  Is that what you're trying to say?" Isabelle asked, a small jab at the two in the closet men.

"Nevermind," Jack said, becoming quiet as he didn't like to talk about his sexuality.  Actually he rather liked to ignore it and hope it went away.

"We're good let's go," Alec said while Jack quickly left the group to head outside ahead of them all.  Jack was never really good at working with groups, he prefered to work on his own.  That's why he hardly ever stayed with Izzy, Alec and Jace during a while mission.  He also had a strange sense, he could always tell if someone was a downworlder, most of the time it didn't matter as he didn't have the normal prejudice against them but in missions in came in handy.  When he sensed the shapeshifter they were looking for he was sure to keep his eyes on the currently she. He could see his friends behind her, all grouped together and got close but not enough so they could see him.

He watched Izzy dance for downworlders and his body tensed.  He suddenly felt eyes on him and turned around, meeting the eyes starring him down.  It was warlock, with power Jack could have felt from a city away.  When their eyes met Jack felt something behind his eyes and he watched as the warlock's eyes go catlike, most likely his Mark.  The strange feeling behind his eyes goes away at the same time the Warlock's eyes go normal.  He felt a pull to the warlock for an unknown reason but before he could start walking towards him he feels the power of an activated blade and a girl scream, "Watch out!"

Jack turns around to see a red head push the demon they were after and he steps forward with a low growl.  Jace says something to the red head before pushing her away and the shapeshifter with it's face opened up gets close to him.  Jack is quick to rush in and kill her with a dagger.

Jack goes back into the crowd and when more downworlders start to gang up on them he would come out and deal with them.  The boy didn't like hurting downworlders so he only stepped in when his friends needed it.  He watched as the red head ran off and he followed after her with distance between them.

He saw her run into the man he felt a pull to and they looked at each other and when the girl ran off Jack went to follow her again, only to run into the same body as she did.  He met eyes witht he warlock who seemed mesmerized by him, "Who are you?"

"I, uh, I should, I gotta go," Jack stuttered, nervous around the warlock for reasons he didn't know.

"Wait, uh I'm Magnus Bane," Magnus said, not wanting the boy to leave.  Jack smiled at him, an unknown feeling of warmth in his chest.

"I'm Jack Doe," Jack told him, not using his normal last name as he was talking to a warlock who might be familiar with it, instead choosing the name of someone they don't know the name of.  Jack smiled at the warlock before remembering his friends and shaking his head to clear his thought, "Oh but uh really I gotta, uh, I should, just, uh, go."  Jack quickly ran off and when he thought he was far enough away he smacked himself in the forehead whispering, "Stupid stupid stupid."

When Jack got home he expected things, an agrivated Alec, a sassy Isabelle, an ignorant Jace, what he didn't expect was the red head from the club and a mundane.  So when he walks up and sees a dead circle member, a mundane, the red head and Jace you could say he was a little surprised.

"There's a dead body, we have to call Luke," The mundane said pointing at the body.

"We can't trust Luke, Simon.  We can't," The red head said to the mundane Jack now knew as Simon.

"Clary we need to keep you safe," Jace told the red head who looked at him.

"What we need to do is explain what the hell is going on to Jack!"Jack said walking up with a glare.  He unruned once he noticed the mundane, not wanting to freak the kid out.

"I promise you we'll find your mom, we'll keep you safe," Jace said and Jack scoffed walking closer.

"Yeah yeah, cool it's ignore Jack day.  What the hell is going on Jace Wayland," Jack said with a glare and crossing his arms.  Jace held his hands up in surrender, backing up from the irritated boy.

"Listen I'll explain everything, Jack," Jace told the boy.

"You better."
