Chapter 5: Growing Older.

After the shooting of the first episode, Carrie, Lauren and the Warners walked into the tower again. As the others got to work on making the interior more modern, Carrie sat alone at her old vanity. She stares at herself and looks at her greying hair, all a toll of the stress that she had endured. She sighs and sees a reflection of her younger self. "What have I become?" She places a hand on the mirror and so does the reflection of her younger self. Then the reflection begins to speak to her. "Carrie, please listen to me. I know you have gotten much older, and that's okay. Please know that your friends and family are here for you no matter what. You got to hold onto what you have. You never know when it will be gone." And the younger version of herself disappeared as Carrie blinks. 'I need to go see momma..' She thinks and then left the tower.

(Later)

Carrie arrives at the house and knocked on the door. Daniel answered it and looked at her. "Oh hey, my little bird. How did the whole ordeal go?" He asked Carrie as she came inside. "Oh it was actually really good. It feels nice to have something to do again, and I don't have to hide any longer.. Can I talk to mom?" Daniel nodded and led her to her room. Carrie knocked on the door and Amelia spoke. "Come in." And Carrie breathed out, almost in a nervous way, and she went inside.

"Hey momma. I'm back for real. I'm here to stay." She sits down next to her bed and folds her hands together in her lap. "Oh.. Carrie, I'm so glad you came to see me. Hey.. I need you to be brave ok? I'm a changed woman. You know this dear." She takes her wrinkled hand and holds it. "Yes mom, I know... I just noticed all the grey hairs getting onto me from all the stress over the years. Mom.. I'm no longer who I was before.. My beauty is starting to fade out, like a star about to burn away... I... I had to grow up a lot more since I abandoned everything, and I don't even know what I am anymore." Amelia sat up from her bed and looked at her straight in the eyes. "Whatever do you mean?" She asked her with a gentle voice and Carrie buried her face in her hands and began to cry. "Oh momma! I fear of making the same mistakes as you have when you were unwell mentally. I fear of hurting the people I love. I'm not as outspoken and happy as I used to be."

Amelia held up a hand mirror for Carrie and she takes it, staring at herself again. "Carrie.. Look in this mirror. Do you know what I see? I still see the cheerful, outspoken, young lady that you were all those years ago. I understand that you didn't have a choice.. Your dad would do the same for you if you were being taken away for good. Look, I got the help I needed for my mental instability.. You should get the help you need before it's too late." Amelia told her. "Otherwise.. We all know how it goes. My bloodline was known for issues like this. It gets better if we just get help."

Carrie hugged her mother gently. "Alright. I will. I'll set up the appointment tomorrow." Amelia gives a little chuckle. "That's my little bird. You're more free." She pets her head and laid back down. "Don't worry. I will be here for you every step of the way." Then her dad comes into the room. "And so will I. And so will your friends and lover." Carrie wiped her tears away and stood up. "Thanks for everything. I'll see you guys soon." She walks out the door and watches the moon.
