Chapter 16: A Chip of Anger Management
(The next day)
Carrie walked up to the building that was hosting the Anger Management meeting. After the talk with Scratchandsniff at the end of the session yesterday, he gave her the recommendation of attending one of these meetings. As she was about to step inside, a man gets sent flying out of the window. "Oh dear, bad timing?" She asked and the man stood back up. "Yeah I'm good. I'm always the one to get thrown out. You're new around here, huh?" Carrie nodded at him as the two headed inside. "Yeah. I am new here." "Well allow me to introduce myself as Sam. I'm a regular at one of these meetings." The two head into the room full of people and sat down.
"Alright, before we begin, we got a fresh new face here. I'm Ms. Mink." The counselor, who happened to be Minerva, talked to Carrie while introducing herself. "Hello. I'm Carrie Warner- Nelson, and I was recommended this meeting by my studios psychiatrist." "Hi Carrie." The attendants spoke up and Minerva cleared her throat. "Carrie, I didn't expect to see you here again." "Minerva, you became a counselor?" Carrie questions, pretty surprised to see an old friend. "Yeah. After the show, I decided to take on as a counselor. Anyway, who wants to begin?" She asked the circle and then Sam raised his hand. "Well, I would like to say that I stopped hanging out with that biker gang i talked about in last weeks meeting, and I haven't had an anger spike since September 10th." He gave a small smile as the group clapped for him.
"Three months of peace. How does it feel, Sam?" Minerva asked him as he placed his hands over his ears. "There's a ringing in my ear. And it feels like my body is eating itself from the inside." He grabbed a fork, about to hurt himself, but then one other attendant held onto him. "Oh be strong Sam. I know what it's like to be a slave to harm." "Oh silly Timmy." A girl spoke up from the left of Timothy, who hated being called that name. "Excuse me, what did you say? Say it to my face!!" Timothy began to choke the lady. "Easy now Timothy, have you sat your kids down and opened up the lines of communication towards a negotiable benefit?" Minerva asked as Timothy sat back down, cupping his hands together. "All they understand is these PearPhones and the bird.." "It sounds like you need a look out for your number one."
"I just don't understand why you don't take the gadgets away from those gremlins." Another man spoke up as his wife smacks him on the back of the head. "Yeah, keep it up Alex. That's the kind of attitude that encourages our kids to take cookies from the jar." Minerva sighs and looked over at the couple. "And how does that make you feel Elise?" "Ashamed, flabbergasted. It's like they're the smartest kids in the world." Elise laid back in her chair as the mean girl laughed. "Why they're that, or you're just the worst mother in the world." Minerva gave a small glare at the lady making those snide remarks. "Ms. Amanda, you're out of line." "It's Captain!" She raised her hand as Carrie rolled her eyes. "Yeah, like you were ever REALLY in the military.." "Oh man, I need a drink." Sam rubbed his arm as the Goodfeathers popped up and spoke together. "Looks like somebody's off the wagon." Minerva sighs and shakes her head. "Bobby, Pesto, Squit, I thought we talked about ganging up on others. You guys should find your individual voices again."
Another lady looked at the three birds. "It looks like you guys aren't acting as pigeons no more." "Callie, you're looking awfully bitter.." Minerva looked concerned as Callie rested her head down. "It's the little things you can see." "Is Jemma's bipolar disorder still affecting things in your friendship?" She asked and Jemma soon popped up. "I hate everything! I'll rip up my teddy bear and.. Snuggle it." "I mean it could be worse. You could be working with a love fairy." Sam looks out the window and sees another red head pop in. "You want two scoops of seduction?" The fairy growled and then Carrie just pinched her cheek. "Ow." She yelped and backed away from the window.
"And Carrie, what's your story? What made you come here?" Minerva asked her and she stood up. "Some time ago, my mom passed away pretty suddenly, and I was right by her side through everything. It hurt me from the inside. First the denial and now these anger spikes." She sat back down, drinking some water. "Hey don't worry. We'll get you back on track in no time." Sam placed a hand on her shoulder and they all confined in one another, having a laugh
