Chapter 12: Mother And Daughter, and First Words.
Carrie and Cassidy went out for some Mom/Daughter bonding time in the park. She sets her in her stroller she got and the two walked on the side track when she sees her old bullies from school in Colorado all of those years ago. Carrie's face went pale, and she looked in the opposite direction. "Well, well, well. Look who decided to drop in on my doorstep." MacKenzie sneered as she passed by. "Hey, come here. We were just talking about motherhood, and think you would need some advice." Carrie sighs and walked over to her and her snotty friends.
"So, how's life living with cartoonish creatures?" She sneered. "Me, Chloe and Raquel would love to hear ALL about it." Carrie licked her lips. "I mean, it's fine.. they have given me all I have ever wanted. A real family." "Yeah, yeah, no sappy stuff. Look at yourself." Mackenzie pulled on one of her cartoon ears. "Hey! I'm still sensitive!" Chloe and Raquel just laughed and recorded her every push and pull. Cassidy unbuckled herself and began to build something. "What's the tot doing?" Chloe asked, pushing some of her blonde hair behind her ear. "Oh you'll see.." Carrie crossed her arms and after a few minutes, Cassidy finishes building a rocket.
"A rocket? What's that got to do with us?" Mackenzie scratches her head as Cassidy hands her a device, babbling "Fabawoo." "Uh.. Thanks.. I guess." Mackenzie presses the big red button as a hand comes in and stuffs the three mean girls inside. Then the rocket blasts off and crashes right into Mount Rushmore. Cassidy sat on the floor, but Carrie picked her back up again and mumbled "Clever girl.." Before setting her back into the stroller. Then she walked up to the ice cream truck that was nearby and got herself some strawberry ice cream and Cassidy a thing for her. The two share their frozen treats, then decided to go back to the tower.
Dot was the first to greet them when they got back. "Hey Carrie. Look what I found." She then pulls out an old photo album. "I thought that we could all go over some of the memories together." Carrie immediately nodded and opened it up to a picture of Lauren trying to say her first words. "I remember this. Lauren always loved to blink in morse code before she could speak." "Yeah. Although I couldn't remember my first words. Do you and Dad know?" Lauren asked Carrie and Yakko as they both scratched their chins, trying to think of it.
(Flashback)
"Come on Lauren. Let's try to say Red. Your favorite color." A younger Carrie spoke, holding up a red flash card. Lauren begins to make the sound. "R..rrrpppbbbbbttt." She ended up making a raspberry. "Alright, let's try something else." Dot saw that she was struggling and decided to help. "How's about we try to say your name? Lauren. It's definitely simple." Lauren then looked over at Wakko who was cheering about something. "Faboo! I just beat the High Score." And as he said that, Lauren spoke up with his phrase "Faboo!" The siblings and Carrie all looked at each other and Carrie picked her up. "Well that's better than nothing at all."
