Rugged times have rendered me speechless,

So forgive for being so lifeless.

Turning tables favor those against me,

And I forlornly feel I should forfeit.

Wouldn't you succumb if you were cornered?

By things that are so non-compliant?

Mind over matter,

I've been told over and over.

Stand a while in my shoes,

And you'll know 'tis easier said than done.

The waves of change are pitting against me,

What do I do when a tide so mighty threatens to devour me?

I'm a mere have-not in my coracle,

I lack the audacity and valor to defy Posiedon.
