Chapter 10 // Red Feathers
WARNING: GORE
France POV
(This book has changed slightly since I left the countryhumans fandom. So I'm changing up some parts, and removing basically all the ships. So UK and France (Who I were shipping before) are now siblings taking care of Canada, America, Austraila, and NZ. I also apologize for not updating fast. I'm losing my ideas, rlly busy, and more. )
"Britain!!" I was shrieking. Course I was. If I'm supposed to play a mother role, I'm supposed to worry about the kids. Right? Well, I'm worrying about them.
He walked over to me, looking bewildered. "There's a LOCKDOWN! And an emergency meeting once it's cleared!"
Britain's wide eyed expression didn't change. "The kids," He muttered.
"Oh no no no no no!" I cried, dropping the phone on the counter. Maybe I'm just dramatic.
"France, just calm down. They're in a lockdown. Locked safely with a responsible adult,"
That made me mad. And more panicked. "Exactly! What if New Zealand or Austraila didn't know what to do?!"
"Oh France." Britain sighed, before picking up his phone.
"Oh my god!" I shrieked. "What about America! What if he didn't make it to school this time!!"
-----
Russia POV
I stared out the window of the classroom. Well, the tiny opening, since the blinds were closed. Because of the darn lockdown. The sidewalk looked so sad and empty except for a tiny country walking around in circles.
Wait what!?
I ran over, the different colours of everyone's pupils, focused on me was the thing I was least concerned about I didn't care, for once. There was a girl, with a bow on her head, and a wide eyed look plastered on her face. She didn't make it in time before the lockdown, so everyone shut their doors on her.
I opened the window and suddenly crawled out, but luckily I was able to bend my body instead of falling over. What was I doing? No idea. I kneeled down to her height (which was hard) and asked her if she got stuck outside.
"Yeah.." She mumbled. "I was walking around the school to try and find an entrance.."
"Oh. You made it all the way to the high school area?" I asked, leading her over towards the window "Are you.. Austraila?"
She shook her head. "New Zealand. You're Russia, right?" I nod, before attempting to make my voice sound more gentle. "Here, let me help you inside."
Now being an older older sibling was something I never was. After all, most of my siblings had close age gaps. I never had experience with kids. But I have seen my father picking up my siblings.
I place my hands under her arms and scoop her up and slide her through he window, before crawling through myself. Suddenly, I feel the weight of everyone's stares.
"Uh, ASEAN, sir.. I found this girl outside." My gentle voice had suddenly disappeared, and I sort of freaked myself out.
"New Zealand, are you?" ASEAN asks, as everyone suddenly crowds around to look. New Zealand nods slowly, avoiding everyone's gaze. Soft murmurs could be heard -- everyone was conversing.
(Erm, why do I have 669 views on my story? Also, finally updating while researching immortal jellyfish for a project :,D)
T.W. Mentions of Ukraine-Russia War. Please note that most of this story I make Russia slightly 'guilty' about the war. I know that isn't the case, but I just wanted to add the detail that: he's not completely against his government's decisions, but he doesn't really like it.
"Isn't she one of Britain's kids?"
"I thought that was Australia?"
"Boy, she's short."
"Wait, what if she's the murderer?"
Were some of the whispers I heard. ASEAN picks up his phone, likely texting the admin and teachers that New Zealand was found. Probably reporting her whereabouts too, so she isn't suspected. If Poland was killed outside, then she would be a big suspect...
A kid?
A murderer?
What the fuck is wrong with me?
Well, it could be anyone. No wonder everyone suspected me. I'm engaging in war right now. But why, why was NATO so against me, and the so called 'communists'?
-------
New Zealand POV
I was.. safe. At least, that's what I want to believe. Maman (Mom) had shrieked over me after the lockdown was over, and we were all, I mean all driven from a bus to the office building where meetings were held.
Normally, younger countries weren't allowed to participate in these meetings. Occasionally, we where so we would learn stuff, but we won't be allowed to speak or add ideas.
So most of the countries of the world were here, gathered in this building. The parents, the older ones, were already here. Everyone else had been driven from the school.
I clung onto Maman's leg. Anyone could be the murderer. Anyone.
Which means it could be the person I'm clinging onto right now. It could be my best friend. Or my brother. Or my sister. Or my teacher.
How can we trust anyone now?
Behind me, Canada sniffed. I had forgotten that she had stayed home today. She was standing next to Dad, hands in pockets with a grim look on her face that nearly everyone had. America had walked over to join us.
"My appointment had to end early. I've been eating a lot of apples these days, so I should be covered." America smiles, trying to lighten the mood, standing beside Canada. He waves at me, realizing that I was staring. I wave back, but not really smiling that much.
"KIWI!!" I hear my name being called in an Australian accent. I turn my head, releasing my grip off of Maman and looking towards the voice. Turns out my brother had been on the last bus.
"Aussie!" I call, smiling. "I got trapped out," I say, smiling a bit more.
"You did? No way!" His eyes widened, and he gripped my shoulders and pulled me towards the rest of the family. "What did ya do?"
(As you can see, I'm terrible at writing out the Australian accent. I can very much do it, but not write it! Please laugh. This book's about to get depressing.)
"I just walked around, and then R- I mean, someone saw me through a window brought me back inside." I shrug my shoulders, now standing slightly in front of Canada. Maman had moved and was talking with Dad.
"Woah. That must've been scary!" Austraila pipes up, letting go of my shoulders and looking around. "I was on the bus with all the serious kids." He points to a class that was coming inside. Probably the rest of the kids on the bus with him. My eyes widen -- that was the class I was with before! But Russia wasn't there? Was he not in that class?
At least they organized the classes. Because I was put into a bus with my class.
Suddenly, everyone was silent. The only person who was talking was UN. And it sounded serious.
"This is a grave situation. Never, ever in my years of being an Organization that I have seen something so bad. My condolences to Poland..."
He pauses, clearing his throat.
"Never in my life had a murder happened in an active building. Anyone could have seen. But did anyone? No."
"But Poland is not dead. Neither are any of the victims. That is the only advantage we have here."
Finally! Done this chapter! Are you proud? You better be. Please leave any tips, ideas, or guesses. Now my questions for you:
-Who, do you think is the next victim?
-Do you think NATO is right, in believing it is one of the communists?
-Also, who do you think the murderer is now? Did your guess change?
And, hope you have a nice day/night. Stay safe out there!
-Cy
