You sighed as you saw the empty bed before you, still perfectly made and neat. Normally, you're fiancé would be sprawled across the bed in a deep sleep, but tonight he was camping with this old basketball teammates.

You did your nightly routine while what if's filled your mind.

What if someone breaks in?

What if I have another nightmare?

What if I can't sleep with him here by my side?

You slipped into bed after turning off the lights. Unsurprisingly, you tossed and turned, not used to sleeping by yourself. You were tired; your day consisted of wedding preparations. However, as soon as you closed your eyes, you felt awake once again.

It was around two in the morning when you caved in and called Takao. You weren't sure if he was going to answer or not, but you heaved a sigh of relief when he did.

"H-hello...?" His voice was laced with sleepiness, making you feel guilty.

"Kazu-kun?" You whispered as if you were afraid to wake the others.

"[Nickname]-chan?" Upon hearing your voice, he became awake and alert. If you were next to him, you would have seen concerned in his eyes.

"I'm sorry," you started, feeling even more guilty than before, "I just couldn't sleep, but it's so early in the morning--"

He chuckled quietly, make your face heat up in embarrassment. "It's fine. How about we talk until you fall asleep, yeah?"

"S-sure," you agreed, proceeding to converse him about nothing in particular. It wasn't until three in the morning before you fell asleep, but you still did nonetheless.

Takao smiled when he heard your breathing even out.

"Goodnight."

I'm at school right now, but I don't have a 3rd period so I presented you with a quick little chapter. Currently using my phone for this. It probably looks like I'm forever texting, haha.
