Reunion
The saying that "love is blind" ages like an overplayed love song, but the saying that "love binds" will forever age like red wine.
"Kim Taehyung, did-did I pronounce that right?" Taehyung smirked at how the woman couldn't seem to tear her eyes away from his mouth. His tongue brushed against his lower lip leaving a gloss of saliva to coat it. He intentionally shifted his posture and watched as her eyes dropped to his exposed collar bone. His silk shirt hung off his chest loosely, exposing it to those he allowed to be close enough.
"Yeah, that sounds about right," the deep suggestive tone in his voice made the woman aware of herself causing her to nervously shift under his stare. Taehyung collected his papers from the office woman, making sure to lightly brush his fingers against the back of her hand. The corners of his mouth tugged upward at the warmth of her soft skin. He almost chuckled at the lust pouring from her, he could tell she was deprived of proper stimulation. He could imagine twenty different ways to hear his name from her lips, and by the looks of her physique, an additional three positions. There was a moment of silence as their eyes met, her mouth slightly ajar, unable to tear away. A knock on the counter managed to strip her focus to the younger man standing beside Taehyung. His soft brown locks bounced with a tilt of his head, his lips stretched to a thin line. She stumbled over her words and tried to collect herself by reading the name off the sheet of paper.
"Jeon...Jeon Jungkook, right?" The young man stood upright and brushed the locks of hair out of his face. Contrary to his child-like features, his tattooed hand stripped his innocent mien. The lines of ink peeped out from under the long sleeves of his leather jacket. His tucked in black shirt stuck to his chest lightly from the moisture of his skin, making his slim figure appear solid. After giving the woman a nod of acknowledgment he grabbed the documents.
"Thank you, Taehyung let's go, we've got somewhere to be." Jungkook impatiently signaled his flirtatious friend to leave. Taehyung gave the office woman one last look before turning to the hall, he crossed his arms and puffed his chest while stomping away. He abruptly stopped ahead of Jungkook and turned to face him.
"Way to ruin my fun," Jungkook merely passes him, not the least bit apologetic.
"Rook's not going to be happy to see us," Jungkook stated plainly. They both stopped at the younger's declaration. There was an exchange of knowing looks before Taehyung sighed. He fixed his top so that it rested evenly between his shoulders.
" I know, don't remind me, besides, that was almost a century ago and she's avoided me since." Jungkook lightly rubbed the nape of his neck knowing that there was always commotion when the two met. The peaceful days were long gone and replaced with tension. If Jungkook wasn't there the few times the two crossed paths, Taehyung would be scraps of demon on the ground.
"Just try not to piss her off too much, okay. Remember that we're here for a job," Taehyung scoffed at Jungkook's lack of trust in his judgment. He couldn't help what he did, his want to fluster others was his natural way of being. It just so happens that he finds entertainment in getting a reaction from this particular demon. He knew that he messed up all those years ago, but he reflected and changed his ways, for the most part. Taehyung bounces back in a lackadaisical manner.
" You should learn to relax, don't forget what I am, being the demon of lust and greed I was crafted to attend to those with special needs. I could help you loosen up, free of charge of course," Jungkook looked back at Taehyung in disgust. Taehyung frowned at the younger's repulsion, only shrugging in defense. Jungkook halted at the alluring smell of a very familiar demon tickling his nostrils. He stretched his hand out, stopping Taehyung in his tracks. Jungkook's brows furrowed at her sudden appearance. His arm dropped away from Taehyung's chest as he stared at the corner the was originating from.
"She's close, remember Taehyung, we need to extract the bounty without exposure to the humans," Jungkook looked over his shoulder to see no one. It only took a moment for his eyes to lay on Taehyung exchanging unholy looks with some guy in the halls. In the few moments that Jungkook was distracted, Taehyung managed to slip beneath someone. Taehyung's eyes were basically changing color as he hungrily stared up at the built teen. Another day, another toy. Taehyung's hand was resting on the guy's arm, making the muscle flex under his touch.
"Tae...hyung," Jungkook's voice had a hint of irritation beneath it. He was never good with patience, especially when it came to work. Taehyung lifted his arm gently off the guy's bicep to shew Jungkook away, but this only angered him. Jungkook was the demon of pride, his overwhelming sense of ego made a bout of anger rise. The tatted letters that rested on his knuckles looked alive with his veins bulging.
The sound of Taehyung giggling triggered Jungkook, and before he knew it his fingers were digging into Taehyung's shoulder. With a yank, Taehyung was jerked to Jungkook's side. His feet were tripping over one another, stumbling behind Jungkook as he was pulled along. He struggled to breathe with the pulling of the collar of his top. He managed to gulp knowing that he messed up.Taehyung pushed Jungkook too far, and Jungkook was strong enough to be hired as his protection detail, just him, alone. Jungkook wasn't someone you wanted on your bad side.
Taehyung let out a breath as Jungkook guided him to clumsily stand in front of him. Taehyung met Jungkook's eyes, a shimmer of red, stirred beneath the light brown.
"Stop with the games Taehyung, your father sent us here to do business, not to play," Taehyung raised his hands in defeat. He bit his lip knowing it wasn't a good thing when Jungkook got even remotely angry. Jungkook's a reserved guy who's two forms of expression were calm and angry, nothing in-between, but he's touchy when it comes to certain things. They've known each other for centuries but Taehyung has rarely seen this man cry, laugh, or be moody. He caught a glimpse of him smiling once and tried to tease him for it but gained a newfound trauma of high places after Jungkook decided to toss him 5 feet into the air. Taehyung's eyes squinted slightly while his box smile grew.
"Fine, my best behavior it is," Taehyung nervously promised. Jungkook let Taehyung's collar loose, a sigh brushed his lips. He sped past Jungkook in the direction they were heading before. Once he was far enough ahead of him, Taehyung let his finger trace over a scar on his forearm that suddenly irritated him. The heaviness he felt in his chest, when he acknowledged it, wasn't something he missed. Countless lust-filled bodies couldn't cover the guilt attached to it. The image of Rook's face popped into his mind leaving just as quickly as it came.
This never gets easier.

"Min Yoongi...let me be your distraction." The peaceful moment was exactly that, a moment. Yoongi let the pencil fall from his hand and it seemed to play as a symphony to Fallen crashing and burning. She was lost as the boy's emotional cloud ran blank, almost as if his mind was blank. Yoongi just stared, his eyes going back and forth between their clasped hands and Fallen's eyes. The boy's mouth opened only to close again.
Fallen was thrown off when Yoongi suddenly stood up, dropping all of the materials on his lap to the ground.
"A-ah...," He tried to speak but cut himself off as he scrambled to collect his items that were messily dispersed onto the grass. There was a flicker of pink that surrounded him but Fallen's attention was stripped away by the sound of a soul calling. She looked over to the crowd of students and saw a young girl sitting by herself. Her headphones were plugged in and her head was down on the table. Fallen could see the demon latching onto her shoulder but quickly looked away when they almost met eyes. She clicked her tongue and faced Yoongi, none of my business. Yoongi was trying his best to avoid her gaze while he stacked everything into a pile.Fallen picked up a pencil that rolled further away from its owner. Yoongi managed to shove everything into his backpack and sling the strap over his shoulder. He noticed that he was missing his favorite writing pencil and desperately tapped his pockets to find them empty, Yoongi eyeballed the grass in a panic trying to rush.
"Looking for this?" He glanced up at Fallen smirking with his pencil clutched in her hand. He sheepishly looked away scuffing his shoes on the dirt as he stood up. Yoongi cleared his throat and wiped the moisture of the grass off of his hands. He reached for the pencil but flinched as Fallen clutched the back of his hand, placing the pencil neatly in his palm. Yoongi jerked his hand to his side and itched the back, agitated at the weird feeling her touch brought.
Fallen looked at Yoongi's state and grabbed his attention by pulling a strand of grass from his disheveled locks. By the bothered way he looked at her Fallen pieced together why his reaction was the way it was.
"Sorry if I made you uncomfortable, I wasn't asking anything romantic of you. I just wanted to be friends, since I'm new and all." The atmosphere was far from comfortable. Yoongi placed the pencil in his bag and nibbled on his bottom lip anxiously. He could feel his hand start to tremble and forced it into his pocket while his ears picked up on the intense thumping in his chest. The thought of messing up his words made him rethink the idea of speaking.
He harshly cleared his throat and his line of sight naturally rested on the ground. Yoongi quickly looked back up to the waiting woman. He remembered that people found it rude when he looked away, but he just wanted to think for a second. Sweat started to accumulate on his back and he could feel himself shut down. The tips of his ears tingled as the blood rushed to the corners of his body.
Just appear calm, just appear calm.
Yoongi's thoughts bled out into his actions. The forced blankness his face held as a part of the corrected behavior shtick his old friends conditioned into him. Yoongi used to be the life of the class, he was a key player on the basketball team, and everyone knew him. But it only ever really took one bad experience to ruin a great thing.
Yoongi couldn't help the way his eyes trailed the features on Fallen's face, or the way his eyes rested on her hand, tracing down to her fingertips. Yoongi cringed at the want to feel what he did before, it was like the pull of nicotine. He felt like an alcoholic would to a freshly poured glass of wine or how a gambler would to a once-in-a-life time-bet. It had been a long time since Yoongi felt anything besides anger and someone who he'd just met managed to spark something new within him. Whether good or bad, it wasn't love, but desire, what for? He had no clue. Yoongi knew that what he felt was a longing for something and not a need. Relationships of any kind were a luxury he couldn't afford. It was impulsive and he didn't do impulsive. Yoongi clenched his jaw and readied his response.
"S-sure, why not," his stomach dropped at his mouth's betrayal. The smile that grew on Fallen's face made him feel less intimidated. Yoongi was taken aback by the sudden angelic contrast. Out of excitement Fallen grabbed Yoongi's hands and pulled him toward the school building. Yoongi couldn't say he completely hated it when she touched him. He hoped that he wouldn't get too used to the feeling he would most likely eventually lose. His eyes stared at the curls bouncing against the back of her neck; Yoongi struggled to close his bag while keeping jogging behind. The people seemed to pass like street lights. Yoongi's surroundings blended together while Fallen's back seemed like the only thing in focus.
He dryly swallowed and his side started to cramp. His muscles agitated at the sudden demand of exercise. Fallen abruptly stopped, making Yoongi hunch over struggling to breathe in. The warm buzz of Fallen's touch ran cold as her hand slid off his wrist. Yoongi's eyes met her clenched fist and he looked up to see Fallen having a staring battle with two other guys across the hall. One had an unreadable expression while the other seemed to look...pained. The tension in the air was so thick that Yoongi took a step back without realizing.
Fallen's demon markings fading in at her rise in emotions. She bit the inside of her cheek feeling her eyes change, without exposure, was what she repeated in her head. Yoongi couldn't help feeling insecure at the appearance of the stylish pair. He tucked the part of his jacket sleeve that had a stain on it away. The taller duo stood, naturally posed, appearing like models from a magazine. They oozed confidence and had the hair, skin, eyes, and body proportions to match it. Yoongi easily recognize that Fallen seemed to know them.
He never really noticed how attractive Fallen was because he was too busy trying not to embarrass himself. Fallen had a desirable pear-shaped body, soft brown skin, and lively black curls. She was nice enough to approach him when only the ones who tried to ruin his day gave him any attention. Yoongi felt like the butt of the bread or like a bowl of soggy cereal; only wanted when nothing else was left. He clutched the strap of his bag and regretted opening up, even if it was only a little. There was the lingering feeling that he was dumb for
not learning from his past mistakes. Yoongi had hoped that he wasn't right about someone for once and that maybe, just maybe, he'd make a new friend. He turned to walk to his next class when a deep voice made him stop in his tracks.
"Rook, it's nice to see you after so long." Yoongi turned to see what looked like a blur. He blinked and before he knew it, Fallen was being held back by one of the two men, mid-lunge at the other. Fallen shook off the brown-haired boy before backing away closer to Yoongi. Their hands brushed and made contact, momentarily distracting Fallen. Her breathing slowed briefly and her attention was on Yoongi. Their eyes met, having a silent conversation. The emotional cloud of yellow returned, contrasting against Yoongi's jet-black hair.
One of the two guys took a step toward them before Fallen signaled him to stop. Yoongi didn't know what pushed him to gather the confidence to speak at that moment, but the contact of their hands seemed to have calmed his anxiety.
"Who is Rook?"
