Minion
When you speak a word into existence it becomes bound to your life's future story, but when you internalize them before they grace your lips they become your current reality.
It had been hours since they were in the car and the room was at a stand still. Fallen was sitting in Namjoon's office chair with her newly purchased clothes wet and tattered, hair disheveled, and a broken glass bottle gripped in her hand. Jin's eyes followed the brown spots that were splattered across her once crisp yellow top. The laces to her shoes were undone and the aglet, ripped and chewed up, was barely staying intact. Jin held his breath while trying to pick the strands of dead grass from Fallen's hair.
Even after an hour of arrival the vein in her forehead was still bulging; like a ticking time bomb her foot tapped the ground at an alarming rate. It didn't help that Namjoon was pacing back and forth while swaying with his ominous build. His usual attire of a tailored suit with a faultless combover added to the seriousness of the scenario, step by step, his stride appeared longer and more drawn out.The choice of red that he wore made it seem like he purposefully wanted to tempt the angry bull that arrived in his office. Namjoon halted his steps and spun to face Fallen.
"Okay, run it by me once again. Calmly, this time." Namjoon sat in his throne of a desk chair; one snap later a cloth was gently slumped onto Fallen's lap. She threw the broken bottle behind her leaving Jin to frantically attempt to catch it without cutting himself. Fallen huffed a sigh and spoke after wiping a bit of dirt away.
"Like I said, I couldn't glitch, so I left the car to properly try again. It didn't work for the first hour, until..."
------------------------------------
Fallen paced back and forth in the girl's bathroom racking her mind for a solution. Jin was grateful that the gas station's model was old; since they were outside, where no one could see, he took it upon himself to sneak in. They stared at each other hoping that the other had some form of an explanation. Jin wasn't strong enough to glitch them both and they needed to assess the situation properly before turning to Namjoon; he was actually a busy man after all.
"Just give it another shot, there's no harm in trying again." Jin panicky exclaimed. Fallen,at this point, was at a loss for words. Trying something over and over again and expecting a different result was the definition of insanity.
"287 I don't think I can do it. Why can't you just go tell Namjoon. You've been acting weird since earlier." Jin looked like he was caught off guard. The way he slightly leaned back, in a defensive posture, made his shock that much more evident.
"It's just that...he has a meeting today and I don't want to add to the stress," Jin dithered on whether to continue. He avoided Fallen's eyes and harshly gulped. The twirling of his fingers and his fidgeting reeked of secrecy.
"287...Jin...I know when you're hiding something from me." Fallen walked over and grabbed the pink of her assistant's ear and twisted it into a ball of itself. Jin bit back a yelp and looked into the now violet eyes of his irate boss. Jin widened his orbs like a scolded child, puckered his lower lip, pouting, and as a result was met with his other ear becoming a victim.
"Ouch, okay, okay," with a satisfied grin, Fallen let go of him. The lanky gentlemen rubbed the abused tissue and took a few steps back. After a fit of nonsensical babbling Jin's demeanor changed, his face was absent of playfulness.
"The meeting's going to be about the plans for the company, and that means..." Jin looked apologetically at Fallen, the guilt he placed on his own back pierced through his chest, so he delayed completing his sentence. The muscles in Fallen's face drooped and stiffened into a life-less expression. She monotonously said what Jin hesitated to.
"Namjoon's dad paid a visit?" The two stood in the dirty bathroom with a heavy wave of silence. The only memory Fallen had of him was the sounds of her own screams. Blending into the demonic world and becoming a soul hunter erased the angel Fallen once was. She had to go through extensive training and body modifications that no mere mortal could survive. This included cutting off her wings by hand, Namjoon's father's hands to be exact. Unlike demons, an angel's wings are God's blessing to grant them safe travel. To rip them away from an angel would be as excruciating as slowly removing each vertebrae from your spine without anesthesia.
In order to prevent them from growing back Fallen had to be awake and aware. Hours upon hours and days upon days were painfilled moments forever ingrained into Fallen's memory. If she passed out from the torment, they grew back. If she lost focus and her body went into fight or flight, they grew back, and the process started all over again. Even after making it through the removal, weak and lifeless, she was immediately forced into her occupational training. To be the best in the business you had to learn to hide your pain, hide your emotions, and hide your desires. Jin was assigned to tend to Fallen and report her progress at the time which meant that the only time he saw her was when she came back from "training," never in one piece. Fallen looked up at the sulking demon. She gave his shoulder a light nudge and tried to lighten the mood.
"Hey, there's no need to get all-," within a blink of an eye the smell of manure and piss was replaced with smoke. Fallen looked around and noticed that Jin was gone and she was standing in an alleyway. Baffled, she took in the sky, letting her eyes adjust to the sudden loss of daylight. The stars were far from visible but a single light lit the sides of the two buildings. Fallen hugged her arms at the cold that the sudden winter granted. Her eyes drooped as a reflex to the breeze that invaded her clothing.
Did I just glitch?
There was a roar of laughter that sounded as she watched her breath float away. A small wooden resteraunt was standing alone on an abandoned street with a single neon sign lighting the sidewalk in front of it.
Galaxy Soaring Bar.
To seek warmth, Fallen crossed the abandoned road hoping to figure out where she was. There was the light sound of music that leaked from beneath the door. With a push, a wave of heat added to the dramatic lights hung from the ceiling. Fallen was greeted by the chime of a bell dangling above the entryway. The way that the old wood was chipped away and the carpet was filled with little specks of dirt showed it had years on it. A few people lively danced and cheered in their respective groups along to the music. Fallen sat at the bar and couldn't seem to warm up. She tucked her hands into her armpits and her knees naturally pressed together. No matter what she did, her chest felt like it was freezing shut. She shivered in her seat and let out slow breaths.
"On the house, for a pretty lady that looks lost." The bartender slipped a warm mug over to Fallen and was surprised at her eager gulps. He was speechless and cautiously watched her consume a piping hot drink like it was a cup of water. She weakly wiped her mouth and handed the mug back.
"Thanks," she turned in her seat to peer at the people around her. Winter gear was hanging on the backs of chairs and scattered all over the tables. People were wearing hats, thick pants, and long sleeves. No wonder she looked like she was lost. Here she was, in the middle of winter, clinging to herself in a crop top and skinny jeans. The bartender tried to make small talk but Fallen wasn't interested. She gave basic responses and tried to think of a way to contact Namjoon and Jin with her powers, for the most part, out of commission.
While breathing hot air into her hands, Fallen noticed a young girl sitting alone at the end of the bar. There was something strange about the way she looked around and giggled to herself when a guy passed by. The young woman was in a bright white skirt with an oversized pink sweater tucked into it. Her hair was in two long feedin braids and her white thigh high socks made Fallen question if the scenario was a set up for some tv show. A tipsy guy broke away from his buddies and sloppily landed into the bar stool next to the stranger. They paid him no mind and something made Fallen's brow raise. It wasn't the fact that the girl ignored the shameless man, but the small mark at the base of her neck. A rather cynical snicker escaped from Fallen's lips. The moment the man became more aggressive Fallen knew it was an opportunity she couldn't let go. He grabbed the young woman's waist and turned her around in the spinning stool.
"Hey, sweetheart, 'ma fwrends and I wanta tweet you to a dwink." The grown man struggled to get out a coherent sentence. He yelped as the woman unexpectedly hopped off her seat, causing him to spill his drink, and he wasn't happy about it.
"How cwould wu dow that? Im gunna tell muh sis on you, 'cuz I don't hit women," the girl's eyes widened before chuckling. She laid a finger on the guy's shoulder and his legs collapsed beneath him. The sound of his bottom crashing onto the floor made everyone's heads turn. The guy looked more surprised than the nosy people watching.
" I think you've had one too many drinks buddy." The young woman tiptoed past the confused man and giggled as she approached the door. Just then, a blonde, about six feet tall, abruptly cut in front of the twinkle toed broad.
"What did you do to my baby brother! I hope you're ready to defend yourself because I'm about to rip those braids out of your scalp." Fallen shook off her chills and approached the stranger in pink. With a swing of her arm over the pink stranger's shoulder, she smiled, playfully enticing the already bothered woman.
"This is my new friend here and I don't like the way you're talking to her," Fallen chimed. The pink stranger tried to push Fallen's arm away but she used some force to keep it there. She mumbled into the girl's ear.
"Play along and we get out of here with only a nail or two broken." Fallen could hear her nervous gulp and saw the nod of her head in the corner of her eye. Their immediate danger was looking suspiciously at them. She reached for Fallen's shoulder and before the skin of her fingertips could even make contact with a piece of lint, Fallen smacked her wrist away.
"See, you just had to go and try to touch me. Now I can't help but to defend myself. I always love a good bar fight." Fallen aggressively kicked the girl out the door and onto the grassy area outside. The blonde slipped and fell onto her back and Fallen didn't waste a moment straddling on top. Screams and rowdy cheering erupted from the small bar. Every swing, left and right, made Fallen fill with adrenaline. Her hands warmed up from the constant contact and her breaths poured from her nose like steam. The sight of blood didn't diminish her fire and the next thing Fallen knew she had a full hand of blonde locks. The girl's efforts to hit Fallen were useless. If she swung with her left hand, Fallen dodged to the right. If she swung with the right, Fallen dodged to the left and dealt it back in ten fold. It felt right, exciting, thrilling. People tried to pull her off but she shook herself loose with one swing.
Suddenly, two large arms wrapped around her waist and yanked her up. Despite the cold she could still smell the booze. The man was no other than the one that was dropped on his toosh not too long ago. Fallen stomped down onto his foot and slipped from under his grip while he cried out in pain. She dug her elbow into his socket and caused him to throw his head back. Drunkily, he stumbled before shakily reaching into his pocket.
"Knife!" Screamed someone in the crowd. The surrounding onlookers screamed and dissipated in fear. The neon light reflected off of the dull silver. Fallen tried to stay calm and analyze what to do. The man had a crooked grin on his face.
"Oh now you finally shut that pretty mouth of yours." The man got ready to lunge but was surrounded in a shower of glass that rained over his head. His body smacked the ground and revealed the very person Fallen started the fight for, clutching a now broken glass bottle.
"I had everything under control just so you know,"Fallen announced.
"Sure you did." Fallen and her partner in crime glanced at their work and booked it before the police could be called. After sprinting for a couple blocks they abruptly turned a corner and pressed their backs against the wall. Their eye contact broke the tension and they couldn't help the chuckles that were exchanged from the hestaria. Fallen grabbed the broken glass bottle and pointed to it in admiration.
"You know, you're not so bad for a dainty witch." The girl instantly stiffened her shoulders and stood at attention. She slowly glanced over to see Fallen still chuckling at the confession.
"I mean, you wear your coven marking so openly. Did you not think anyone would recognize it?" The girl's arm shot up to her neck and she nervously looked at Fallen. Her brows raised as if she made a discovery.
"Wait, are you my familiar?"
"Your what?" Fallen said while swallowing her laughs.
"Well, I tried to summon a familiar as a joke in the bar by blowing on a candle and adding a bit of blood. Which, by the way, was actually really painful to do. Do you know how much it hurts to prick your fi-" Fallen poked the girl's temple and leaned in so that she got her message clearly.
"Focus now, get to the point." The girl's hair started to fade into a bright red to match her rosy cheeks. The hair fell off and grew back shorter along with the features of her face becoming sharper. An adams apple replaced the smooth area of her neck, and a five oclock shadow was ghosting around her lips. Fallen was surprised to hear the base in their voice and the sudden inches added to their height.
"Well, I was in the bar to test my shape shifting spell and what better way to do that than by shifting into a woman and seeing if guys clock me?"
"You have a very weird idea of the way average women dress in a bar you know?"
"Sorry, just the beta test." Fallen was becoming annoyed. She noticed the slight tremble in the man's hands and took advantage of his distress. She somehow managed to get her eyes to flicker for a moment but it was enough to send a message. The warlock's change in expression confirmed Fallen's suspicions.
He can't tell my powers are out of whack.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I saw a candle at the bar and remembered an old spell my mother taught me as a kid before I awakened. It's sort of the summons a demon to be my magical familiar that helps me fight evil kind of schtick. I didn't think it would actually work but here we are I guess," He babbled.
"Great, so now you owe me two favors. One for taking up my precious time with a reckless spell and the second one for risking my life so you could dress up, you catfish,"Fallen replied.
" The name is Hoseok and even if I help you I can't guarantee success."
"I need to get home, you brought me here, now send me back." Their argument got more heated as they went back and forth.
"I thought we got through this already, there's no guarantee that you'll be safe. You could literally end up anywhere."
"I got through it, and you're sending me back." Fallen gave a warning stare at Hoseok. He was a witch but the weakness of a witch is their mortal bodies. If he gets stabbed or shot, there's no healing it up and going about his day.
" Fine, I guess I could just break the spell but there's still no guarantee that you'll end up exactly where you came from."
"Just do it, and if you f**k it up, I'll make sure you'll see me again. Sadly, the next time won't be to cash in what you owe me."
"I-I get it okay. Do it right, don't f**k it up." Hoseok closed his eyes and went to grab Fallen's hand. He mumbled to himself and brought it up to his mouth. She yanked her hand away and Hoseok faltered a bit.
"Are you crazy, why would you interrupt an incantation like that. Do you want to end up in the Artic getting down and dirty with a penguin?" Fallen rolled her eyes and huffed a sigh. She sarcastically layed out her hand and Hoseok started again. After talking to himself he pressed his lips onto the back of her hand. The skin where he kissed had a mark on it in the shape of the coven. Hoseok opened his eyes and burst into a fit of laughter.
"Hold on, what's with the mark?" Hoseok smirked and dodged Fallen's grip. She turned to grab him but he raised a hand....and she stopped?
"Wow, it seriously worked. Welcome to a contract with a warlock. We are now connected, ha!" He made sure to point a finger in her face. Fallen was twitching in her place and spoke through gritted teeth.
"Ho-Hoseok, you have no idea what you've just done. The only...and I mean only reason you got me here is because I'm for some reason weak on power. The moment...and I truly...mean the moment..I get..my powers back," every few syllables Fallen was starting to take strong steps towards Hoseok. The glass bottle in her hand started to crack from her sheer grip. He shriveled back in fear and his teeth clacked together as Fallen's eyes flickered violet.
"I guess it's a good time to send you back huh?" With a whisper of a few words Fallen was slowly disappearing. She couldn't believe it was that easy. The vision of Hoseok waving triumphantly as she teleported only threw a gallon of gasoline into a small fire.
The ground beneath her felt unstable as she placed her footing. There was a lukewarm liquid around her and something slimy slithering around her ankles. She looked up and the very gas station she disappeared from was across the road, but she was currently still cold and knee deep in dirty swamp water.
"D-d*mn it Hoseok, m-mark my words." She walked out of the water and saw Jin's vehicle. She hastily sped over to her assistant with the broken bottle still intact. Her eyes drifted down and she noticed another pair of feet standing with him.It was her natural instinct to scope and gage a situation. Fallen stealthily crawled against the car and tried to make out the conversation. They were mumbling here and there but the voices sounded familiar. The only words that she could clearly make out were...
"She can't know or my head will go rolling, it's imper-"
"Hey,what are you doing there," a random guy, that wanted to play hero, pointed out Fallen. She could see that whoever was on the other side of the car made eye contact with the pedestrian. One of the pair of feet stopped and pointed towards the car. The steps were slow and cautious but within moments they sped into a jog.
"Is someone there?" Fallen closed her eyes and squeezed them shut. Come on, just glitch for me once, please. After two tries failed Fallen decided to face the danger head on, for an element of surprise. She braced herself and jumped up to meet eyes with them. Her mind momentarily buffered at the person standing before her.
"Yoongi?"

Allll done, as promised I'm gonna show my art but please don't judge since I started drawing people less than a year ago. Also, I took these photos on my Android phone so there is no camera addition here.
If you want me to attach an email so that you can send in fan art for the story let me know here 👉🏾
Okay 😌, you can judge but don't be too mean. If you recognise who I am from my art, then whelp, guess you had to figure it out eventually 🤷🏾♀️💅🏾
I call this one "le unfinished"

I call this one "Oof, why can't I draw it like I want to"
I realized the angle of this photo is weird. Didn't realize how bad my skills are.

This was taken as the worst of the two, have mercy on me. My camera skills are very sub-par 🙇🏾♀️
