four; decisions

There, taped neatly to the glass of the window, was a note. The handwriting was cursive, the letters looping effortlessly together, and the words stood out boldly against the snowy white paper.

I strained my eyes in an attempt to read it, since the ink was a bit smudged, making the words hard to read. It seemed to say:

𝓦𝓮 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓪 𝓺𝓾𝓲𝓻𝓴. 𝓔𝓲𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻 𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓷 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻𝓼𝓮𝓵𝓯 𝓲𝓷 𝓫𝔂 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓮𝓷𝓭 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝔀𝓮𝓮𝓴, 𝓸𝓻 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓯𝓪𝓶𝓲𝓵𝔂 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓯𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓼 𝔀𝓲𝓵𝓵 𝓫𝓮 𝓱𝓪𝓻𝓶𝓮𝓭.

"What kind of sick joke is this?"

Touya exclaimed as he leaned over the desk, icy blue eyes scanning the ground beneath the window. He then cursed, and turned to me, his eyes wide.

"I saw one of Overhaul's men! The small weird-looking plushie guy - he just jumped from the ledge and into some big-looking guy's arms! The two of them just ran off...!"

I grit my teeth together and looked down at my hands.

I knew that they had found out. Now they were just taking the necessary actions to lure me to the palace and into Overhaul's grasp.

During this, Tomura was deadly silent, and then he suddenly got up. I watched with bated breath as I watched him walk over to the window. He slid it open with a whoosh, and grabbed the letter, immediately shutting the window after.

"Y/N... I knew this would happen."

Tomura's voice was flat and devoid of emotion. My eyes met his eyes, and I was shocked at how dark his eyes had gotten. While his crimson eyes were usually a vivid shade of red, they had transitioned to a shade of maroon - showing that he was very upset with me.

"I - I worry about you so much, and y-you just- d-don't-"

Tomura suddenly broke down, tears starting to trail down his cheeks, and the sheet of paper crumpled in his trembling fist. Touya sighed and reached down to scoop his boyfriend up into his comforting arms, rubbing hazy circles onto Tomura's shoulders.

The male then looked to me, and his gaze hardened. His voice didn't have the casual, joking tone that it usually held whenever he spoke.

"You're not thinking of turning yourself in, are you? It's dangerous, and who knows what Overhaul might do to you? He's managed to strip my father of his quirk, and you know how fierce of a man my old man is..."

I shook my head slowly, and then shut my eyes. Blood was pounding in my ears, and my breath was getting shakier by the second. Fear was threatening to swallow me whole. I blinked, shocked by how my eyesight was blurring over.

I was going to cry.

"Sh*t... Ah..."

I swore softly as I rubbed at my eyes, trying to hold the tears back. A headache started knocking in the back of my head, and I squeezed my eyes shut. Sensing that I was feeling bad, Touya immediately held an arm out, eyes softening at the sight of me.

"C'mon, Y/N. Group hug, alright?"

I sniffled, and then barrelled into Touya's chest, earning an 'oof' from him. He then chuckled slightly as he patted me on the head, moving his head down to nuzzle Tomura's soft locks.

"The two of you are such babies... What am I going to do with the two of you...?"

Touya said teasingly, and I heard Tomura groan, voice muffled by Touya's shirt,

"Could you please not act like that in a situation like this?"

"Yeah, suppose so. We have to figure something out though."

Touya said thoughtfully, face pulling away from Tomura. I looked up at Touya, whose bright eyes were narrowed in thought. He noticed me looking at him, and Touya's eyes then trailed to my wings that were twitching a bit. His eyes lit up, and then he said, body moving in a way that jostled Tomura from his comfy position against Touya.

"You should try training your quirk more! I'm pretty sure you'd end up having an advantage over Overhaul. He hates quirks, so why'd he have one of his own? It just doesn't make sense for him to be a hypocrite!"

Touya's idea was good...!

"Yeah... Yeah! Ahhh, Touya you're so smart!~"

I cheered as my wings perked up, tears immediately drying up as I hugged him tightly. Tomura was watching the scene with lidded eyes, expression annoyed. Touya spotted this and laughed awkwardly, quickly wrapping an arm around his boyfriend.

"I mean, this is a good idea..."

Tomura started to say, causing Touya and I to turn to look at him. Tomura's eyes were conflicted-looking, his red eyes darting around, deep in thought. He then rasped out,

"But I feel that Overhaul could have a quirk. I mean, how would he keep all his underlings in control, with how many there are? There has to be some way that he keeps them all loyal. And that small plush guy you saw - there's such a small minuscule possibility that he was born that way...! I feel like there are quirks at work in the palace."

I felt my wings droop a bit at the thought, and I nodded slowly. Tomura then went on to say,

"I think your best bet is to just lay low for now - or you might have to just tell your parents, and you all could move away from here. Overhaul can't locate you then."

"I - I can't. My parents have no idea I've been using my quirk outdoors, and I feel like they'd just be disappointed in me..."

I buried my face into my hands, and suddenly I felt a large, rough hand rest on the top of my head.

"It'll be alright, okay Y/N? The two of us will protect you. We-"

Touya started to say, but a knock on the door alerted the three of us, and I felt my heart racing.

"Y/N, could you go to the market for me?"

Ah, it was my mother.

"O-Okay, Mother!"

I responded, and then turned to my friends.

"I'll be back, alright?"

I got up, and Tomura said quickly,

"I told you to-"

"I'll be fine, alright? I'll just..."

I took off my hoodie, choosing to slip on an oversized one so that it'd cover my wings with no trouble.

"Here, okay? I think I'll be fine for now, it's not the end of the week yet, right?"

"Yeah... I guess..."

Tomura replied, and then Touya nodded approvingly to me. I then walked to the door, and opened it.
