"In a relationship there is constant compromise. Even if you don't like the idea of the situation, some times you have to do what's best for the person you love."

It's the morning after and Kiara is dreading emerging from the warm, comfortable covers that she is in.

She's awake but she's laying down, content in his bed.

The only uncomfortable thing about this experience is the fact that she can almost feel his eyes piercing through the skin of her body that was left uncovered by the blanket.

"Good morning" he whispers but she doesn't answer.
"I know you're awake, Kiara. I can hear your heart rate rising."

Silence

"Tell me do I scare you that much?"

"Just because I'm awake doesn't mean I have to answer you", She actually does answer him this time but avoids his last question.

"I see you woke up as cold as you went to bed last night."

She laughs at his words, "Actually I'm quite warm"

"Yeah, coincidentally in my bed"

And with that she's up.

"Hey stop, I didn't mean it like that."
Marquése grabs onto her hand trying to stop her from storming out the door; more like a hurricane to be honest.

"Let go."

"I just want to talk"

"You don't have to hold my hand to talk to me", but as soon as he lets her go she's out the door.

"Don't follow me! I'm going to wash my body"

He sighs

She was going to fight him on everything it seems but this time he saves himself the unnecessary hassle.

He didn't get her at all. He thought they were getting somewhere but it seems she's too much of a stubborn girl to let that happen easily.

She must be the most stubborn person in the world.

First they hate each other, then one minute he's distracted by her and the next thing he knows they're kissing.
Never did he thought he'd be kissing a woman, let alone his mate.

Maybe he's not destined to be alone forever after all.

The water of the stream is cool and extremely soothing as it runs over Kiara's exhausted body.
A shift always takes a lot out of her but she welcomes the feel of it and relish in the serenity.

Kiara's glad that she decided to finally take some time away from him. She didn't think that he'd let her but I guess they have a reason to want to stick together now so he trusts her.

At first the only thing she felt was suffocated here, even more so than back home and that's saying something.

Kiara was just finished washing off, and emerging from the water when she hears familiar, heavy footsteps coming her way.
She quickly covers herself right before he bursts around the corner coming face to face with her almost naked body.

"What in the hell are you doing?!" Kiara screamed but a Marquése kept a smooth, almost chilling composure.

"You were taking too long so I came to get you, wouldn't want you running off now would we?" He smiled his infamous smile and she glowered at him.

"You should be more concerned with me being here naked, and slipping and falling which leads to me accidentally drowning myself out of embarrassment because of you."

"What?"

"Me running off is the least of your problems."
She practically stomps her feet as she throws her thoughts at him and his face immediately brightens.

"So what you're saying it that you want to stay?"

She just stomps her way past him.

They both reached back to the house in no time. She quickly goes inside, looking for some clean clothes of his, they were limited but they had to do.

She wasn't particularly fond of the idea but she was not going to be naked around him. Plus she's a princess, and to be honest no unmated woman at all should be exposed like that no matter if he's her mate.

They weren't mated yet.

She emerges from the house, fully dressed but extremely hungry.
As soon she exits the smell of food close by entices her nostrils and she tracks it down.

Hmm seems as if he was making breakfast, how nice.

She arrives at the spot but he wasn't there so she ate some of the food, leaving some for him.

She sat outside taking in the afternoon air while admiring the clearness and beauty of the sky. She was waiting for Marquése to come back but it didn't seem as if he was.

After a while she decided to go in search of him and gave her wolf the reigns to take over the hunt.
Isabel took over and turned their noses to the wind, smelling for him.
The scent was there just slightly faint.

Hmm

She decided to follow his scent but it only seemed to lead on and on for a while.
Kiara kept walking until she finally reached a space which she recognized, gasping in surprise.

"The stream."

Kiara was waking closer towards his scent until an almost toe-curling howl tears through the still silence of the evening.
She jumped a little off the ground, shocked, but as soon as she was graced with the sight of Marquése's charcoal black coat and inferno red eyes she immediately turned and ran in the opposite direction.

He races behind her with a thunder like fury and she throws her head back to look at the sky, asking the moon goddess why her.

The reach back to the house and she's out of breath.  The mindless wolf comes barelling in her direction, and it's like deja vu.

She runs to the door as trying to seek refuse in his home.

Their home?

No

He reaches the entrance and places a menacing paw forward, stepping in. As it grows closer to night the more terrified she becomes of him.
She's almost shivering with fear.

What happens now?

"Hey, its me", She tries to calm him, "you dont want to do this." Kiara puts her hand out as a barrior to keep him as far away from her as possible but he just turns his head and looks at her weirdly.

Greyson stares at her fingers curiously then bites at them playfully.

Ok not a good idea.

He walks up to her backing her into a corner.
Her back touches the cold hard board and she slides down on her butt, almost like she's at his mercy.

She tries to talk to him again.
"Hey, I know why you're angry, it's that I want to leave right?

His wolf immediately takes in her words and confession. He sits back on his hunches and stares at her in wonder; tilting his head to a weird angle. He observes Kiara for a moment then does the most unimaginable thing. He walks up to her with an almost sad look on his face and situates himself on her lap, nuzzling his snout under her chin like a way of saying 'don't go'.

She stares down at him then something so frightening occurs that she literally stop breathing.
He shifts back into human form while still sitting on her lap.

"Omg! What are you doing?!"
Kiara screams out but Marquése doesn't even move in the sliggtest bit. He seems bored with her overreaction and only holds onto her tighter.

"You do realize that you're naked on my lap right?"

"I do, and I already knew that you're reaction would be along the lines of screaming but frankly you need to stop being so afraid of me. I want to be here right now."

"But you were just chasing me? How can I not be scared of you?"

"What? I wasn't chasing you. I thought you were running with me. I was running with you."

"You have got to be kidding me."

"Look I know that I-I've not been the best mate but I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."

Kiara glances down at him snuggling into her and she feels an overwhelming sense of awkwardness, but also, she feels sadness at his words.

She looks down as he lets out a contented sigh and then... happiness.

How can someone so different yet so perfect, fully belong to her and she didn't even know it?

Didn't even feel the undeniable connection they had when she first got here.

"So if you weren't chasing me why did you howl?"

"It was a warning for the wolves I saw."

"You saw wolves!"
Kiara screams as her hope soars within her. Could it be they were looking for her? But she wasn't a prisoner anymore so she could go home now right?

Marquése springs up out of her lap in a frenzy, "Are you trying to deaf me?"

She only lets out another frightened scream, having to shield her eyes from his nakedness.

"What?"

"Put on some clothes, I do not need to see you naked."

Slight shuffling was the only thing she could hear and she peeks out through her fingers. The brooding wolf is now fully clothed.

She just stares, waiting for him to continue,
"I was out for a walk to observe my territory line when I saw two wolves."

Marquése glared at them with both hate and envy as he sees them walking and looking around but he soon realized after that they were searching for something.

"They are both male and unmated. This angered me because I didn't want unmated wolves around you. I don't want any wolves around you. One of them started yelling but I couldn't hear what he was saying. They both started walking closer and that's when I heard it."

"What did you hear?"

"Your name."

"Really?" Kiara sits in shock as she stares at her mate. "You heard my name? What-what happened? What exactly did you hear."

"The man started sobbing"

Kia!

Kiara Vuldrough! Get your ass out here you have us worried sick!
Omg, I'm t-the one w-who let her come out here by her self-"

"This isnt you're fault Khal, she wanted to get away from her parents. We thought this would help and you know Kia, she's stubborn she would have gone off someplace if you didn't tell her to come here anyway."

"You're right. Goddess I hope she's OK."

"Me too."

"And that's how it went. They were both annoying and angering me. They both posed a treat with their unmated status so I howled to warn them off. They were frightened for a bit and they looked around. The other one understood the warning and said he wanted to go back before anyone started looking for them but I know he was scared."

Throughout his explanation Kiara didn't say a single word, she was too shocked but he didn't realize and kept talking.

"I turned back in the direction of home where I hoped I didn't have to go looking for a certain someone and that's when I saw you.
I thought you were running back home with me."

He heard a light sniff and immediately he was on his knees before her.

"Hey what's wrong?"
Marquése tilted her head to get a better look at her face but what he sees breaks his heart a little.

She had steams of tears rolling down her face.

A sense of worthlessness overcomes his body and Marquése feels like he can't even do one thing right. He's suppose to protect her and make sure she's comfortable here, but it doesn't seem like he has ever done that at all.

"Kiara what's wrong?"

"I- I know who is was, it was my best friend from back home. They were looking for me."

Maybe we should let her go home

Greyson rages at the thought of this,
"No! If you do that then she'll never come back."

He ignores Greyson's words and does the complete opposite of what he advised.

"You can go home."
